How do you reuse your gallon milk jugs?

We have cleaned one out. Now we go on money walks. We put the coins (pennies, nickels, etc) into the jug. It is great for exercise and teaching my daughter (and one day my infant son) how to save money. What use do you have for your used plastic gallon jugs?

I will sometimes reuse them to make some sun tea, but I have never used one for something like what you are doing. It does sound like a nice idea to help teach kids about money. How is your money jug coming along?

Haven't counted it recently. Can still see the bottom of the jug if I move it around. Not too heavy yet.

the way i reuse my gallon milk cartons is i cut the top off them usually and then i set one in each bathroom so each bathroom now has a free trash bin in it. if one of my bathrooms already had a trash bin in it, i just move it somewhere else, it also works for a trash bin in the kitchen, or you could use it as a bin for something like chicken trash, or when you are cooking, put extra stuff in it that is not necessary to have anymore, then just empty it or something.

We use 1 milk jug to take water out to the dog everyday. We also use them to store up water about 6 gallons since you never know when your water is going out especially in the winter when it freezes up. I had not thought to use them as sort of a piggy bank. We usually use those big jar's of Miracle Whip for keeping the change in. We have used milk jugs as temporary planters for flowers and plants until they are big enough to plant outside. I have used them in crafts also and they also make great crayon holder by leaving the handle on but cutting the top and so much of one side out. I guess when one thinks about it closely they are endless possibilities in using a gallon jug.

We mostly use our milk jugs to hold water for filling up a fish tank or for holding other things. We used to use them occasionally for planting but we don't do that much anymore. We just rinse them and toss them now.

We usually use our milk jugs for making ice. We rinse them out and fill them with water and put them in the freezer to make ice for the cooler.

I just recycle them, since they pile up around here so fast because I drink so much milk. Once a week, I load up my car with the empty jugs and take them to the recycling facility

Each residence in my area has a Recycling Bin, something they've been doing since I was a little kid. You fill the bin with any recyclable product, paper, plastic, aluminum, glass.. whatever. You set the bin out to the curb on trash day, and there's a recyclable truck that comes around just like the trash truck. So that's where our milk jugs go. Since the town recycles them, I don't worry too much about trying to find new uses for them.

I have reused empty milk jugs before. I used them in the same way that you said you've reused yours. I used to use a milk jug or two to save change in. But now I just use a small plastic sandwich bag for that. Nowadays I don't really reuse them for anything. If I ever think of another use for them once their original purpose is done, I'll do that though.

We use them as plant pots since hubby likes plants specially flowering plants and there's no soil in our place so we had to improvise and there are these cans (from my son's milk) and plastic jugs and even the empty plastic bottle from coke we make them into plant pots and they're nice to look at.

I am a teacher, so I'm always saving things like this to use some way or another at school. Gallon Milk Jugs? The only two things I've used them for so far is Easter Baskets and Valentine "boxes." These types of things really do come in handy for crafts n such. I like your idea of saving change in them.
