Are You Getting A Lot Of Rain Like We Are?

I've been watching the weather channel a lot these past few days and I've seen that a lot of the USA is getting bombarded with a lot of rain! We live in North Carolina, near the Virginia border and we've been getting so much rain this year that it's driving us nuts!! We're way above the average amount so we're not in a drought but gosh, enough already!! LMBO!! It seems like every other day is cloudy and yucky which puts a damper on the mood. At least it does with us anyway. We're so sick of the gloomy days and the rain that we wish we could just turn it off and send it to California where the forest fires are happening. God has His reasons for doing what He does and we're left to wonder what it is He is doing! lol So are you getting a lot of rain like we are? Are you tired of the amount of rain we've been getting? I know we sure are! lol

We have gotten alot of rain in Tennessee to. last year in the middle of summer we couldn't get a drop. hope that doesn't happen this year. it's a shame we have to get so much at one time but it happens.

It's the same way here Antiquelady. It makes no sense why we have so much of it when we don't need any more and not get it when we're in dire need of it. Life is weird sometimes, isn't it? I'd so love to know why God does the things He does. I bet it would be interesting to hear the answer. lol

Cats, I'm writing this in a hurry because I think our house is gonna float away soon! Yep, we're getting it. As a matter of fact, just today, I woke up from a nap to a HUGE thunderstorm. I turned on the Weather Channel and there was the red thingie at the bottom, telling me that we're in a flash flood warning, ESPECIALLY in Hayfield, the area we're in here in Winchester. We got 2" of rain in a half-hour with 1 to 2 more inches expected. I feel so waterlogged!!! I'm so sick of all this rain! It's already killed half of what I've planted outside. Our land doesn't flood because we're up on a hill, way above the lake level, and the lake has flood drains, but my plants still get washed out. We're WELL ABOVE average for this time of year, as I'm sure you are, too. Wasn't it just 2 years ago when we were having a severe drought? Memorial Day sucked here... it was raining. Actually, it's been raining a bit every day since then! Man! The tomato plants LOVE it, but nothing else is too happy about it. I NEED the sun to feel my best. This is insanity! I'm about to start building an ark... wanna join me?

Oh, man! Weatherbug just started flashing. We're now under a Flood Warning. According to them, "At 625 PM EDT Route 50 near Hayfield, Virginia was still closed as a result of continued flooding from earlier rainfall. Radar indicated that 2 to 3 inches of rain had fallen over the warned area." My husband is now on his way home and guess what? He has to take Rt. 50 to get home! Guess I should call him and tell him to try an alternate route, although that might be difficult, too, because the Weather Channel said that farm roads near creeks and streams were flooding and there's a stream running alone the only other way he can get home! Hmmm, maybe he can't get home and will have to spend the night at a motel or hotel! AWESOME!!! Aren't I bad?

Believe me Elic, if mental and I could send it your way and some to Canada, we would for we're having so much of it that we're feeling a wee bit water logged! Heck she's even thought of building an ark and I'll join her if she does!! LMBO!

Isn't it weird how one part of the country can be a monsoon and another part a drought? Yes, California could definitely use the rain you're getting. Well it WAS rather gloomy here today but only a mild drizzle, nothing torrential like you're getting

I guess asking you what the weather is like in your area is sort of redundant.

A lot of us are about to buy a darned boat so to get around when we need to! LMBO Life can be so weird sometimes, can't it? You should've seen my front porch when the rain started up, most of my cats were on it with this shocked look on their faces like, where the hell did that come from? lol The sky just opened up and dropped it's load out of nowhere!

the last couple of days we have gotten a fair amount of rain here in southern ontario canada but its ok, because since it was the official start of planting weekend a couple of weekends ago (victoria day), our tomato plants could use the rain!

The past couple of days we have been getting a lot of rain. But we really need the rain because we were in a drought. I wish it only rained at night and not during the day. If it was like that, I wouldn't mind it whatsoever.

You see, that's the difference, if we needed it, I'd be jumping for joy to be getting it but we don't need any more. We're about to build an ark before too long, that's how much rain we've been getting. Wish like crazy that we could just move it on down to you!! We'd do it in a heartbeat!

Hm, I thought last year your area was suffering from droughts and had restrictions for water usage it could be relief from that. Rain also clears the air so you could be getting some relief from some smoggy air and muggy temperatures. Im not sure but I do know now scientist are predicting much flood in places all over the globe and it sounds like this may be the new 'el nino'. Its going to wreak havoc on places near the coast and countries like malaysia, especially if temperatures in the ocean keep rising--the earth's pangs.

I really enjoy the rain. We are getting here. I am in Idaho. I love the thunder and lightning. Gloomy days don't really bother me if there aren't a whole lot of them. Alot of people carry on about the rain and gloominess and I just laugh. I love it! I think it could be alot worse. Snow, heat and flooding. And it could even get worse than that. Rain is good for the crops and flowers. I enjoy it.

I don't mind the rain when it's for a day or two but when it goes on longer than that, it gets monotonous and that's what it's been like here. We were below and in dire need of rain and now we're WAAAAAAY above normal that we're in the flood stage. I mean, ENOUGH ALREADY and it's still carrying on! We just had another 3 more days of it and flooded a major town that, thankfully, we don't live in and a lot of areas near us too. It's awful!! BTW, my dad is from Idaho and really misses being there. He's in Virginia now thanks to my mom. lol

It has to get pretty monotonous for me to not enjoy it anymore. I love this cooler weather too. Everything is so green and lush. I think that the flood are bad and feel bad about them but it is fate and meant to happen. Weird, huh?

Hi Cats; Yes We too here in Missouri are getting way more than we need and we just got another 2+ inches the last couple of days, the yards/pastures are so wet the water has no where to go, weeds & grass growing like crazy people trying to mow and its a mess grass is in clumps in the yard and or mowers get stuck..LOL! Our lake is nice and full again but good grief, now the next couple of days its supposed to be sunny and reach almost 90 a couple of days so that means we'll have summer weather and that blasted humidity...(sigh)! We just are never happy are we?? LOL!! I know I'm not!!

This is the very reason I like Spring and Fall the best because it's not too hot and not too cold and if it's humid, it really doesn't matter because of the niceness in the air. It's getting close to summer and is why it's so hot and humid now. UGH!! I can take the rain for a day or two but not for days on end. Some sunshine inbetween would be oh so nice!! lol Hubby was going to cut the grass today but the weather had other ideas. Oh such is life and so the grass continues to grow.

Yep its been rainy and cool. My grandson is anxious for me to open my pool, I have been putting it off. Is too cold to get in it and why use all them chemicals for the pool to just sit there with no one in it. I have also been waiting for the helicopters thingys to finish falling from the trees, they make a mess in the pool. I will probably get busy the first week in June.

Now THAT'S what I don't like hearing but we all know that that's life in the worst of ways. Did they get out and I'm hoping no one was killed or even hurt badly. I'll say a prayer on their behalf.

Hi there Cats and Dogs. Yesterday was just the kind of day you want to get rid off as it rained about 10 hours continuously, and the wind was blowing pretty hard. Fortunately, today the sun is up and trying to dry the streets, but the wind is still present, and the temperature is hardly climbing, but hey, it is still morning. Reporting from Bucharest, Romania. Take care and have a Sunny day
