we are about to fix my mom's porch, and we have these bumblebees we need to get rid of before they get too comfortable (and fix the roof)..i was wondering if anybody knew something that wouldn't harm them, just repel them. i don't want to kill them, they're harmless, and kind of stupid cute. i don't know if smoke will work on them like it does honeybees.

This one always works. Take a spray bottle and put some vinegar and a little water mixture in the bottle. When they start coming around just spray the little devils with your vnegar water concoction! They will be heading in the opposite direction in no time! It works with any other flying pests as well! Happy roof fixing!!!!

Yep, vinegar is not a well liked substance for any pesky pest.

I think smoke would definitely work the best to try to shoo them away without killing them. I would be afraid to be stung though. Sometimes they will not go away. They want you to LOL.

I just recieved an email the other day that said that bounce dryer sheets will shoo away yellow jackets and to put one in your pocket to get rid of mosquittos too. I have not tried it. Maybe it would work on bumblebees too.

Those dryer sheets are toxic so be careful how you use them @scarlet_woman Also, dryer sheets are very harmful to pets.

If they have a hive you're not going to be able to get rid of them unless you move the hive and that's not something you should try to do yourself. Smoke does work on bumblebees if they're just hanging around and I've also heard that spraying them with water will cause them to go away too...but they might come back ticked off.

they seem to be scouting at present..hopefully the smoke will deter them.

Thank you for not harming the bees, they are endangered now and we need them for our survival.
