today june 12, is the day all televisions have to get the hd converter box. i dont really understand the whold hd thing. all i know is that your television is supposed to come in great if you have the converter box, digital cable, direct tv, etc...if you dont have it, you have to get the box plus the television antenna. another thing we cant afford. i have digital cable so im ok for the moment. god forbid if i ever dont pay the bill. what a mess! hopefully ill never have to find out. what about your are you ready?

I dont get the whole HD thing either...But oh well. I have satellite so I am good to go. The only gripe I have is that the digital signal isnt always the best. So if you are recording and it starts to fade out you loose the recording or it messes the recording all up. OH well...I guess if we keep up the bill we will still be informed by tv...or just give up all together and just be online! If you can..

I have converter boxes. Hubby was going to just leave the basic cable on the downstairs television, but they have gone up from twelve dollars to eighteen in the last six months, and I do not even really watch TV.

Up here in Canada there is nothing to worry about until early 2010, from what I understand. Either way, we don't have anything to worry about anyway, since we have Cable TV. I'm told that if one has cable, there is no problem. I would have thought that a lot of people in the USA have cable, so I'm surprised that this converter thing is such an issue.

Cable is popular here in the United States. We also have Direct TV. The things that is getting people is that the ones that needed the converter box waited until the last minute. So now there is pandamonium in trying to obtain them. From what I understand they only allow you coupons for two converters. You must pay full price for the rest. The only problem I have is that cable is so damn expensive. I may not eat but I will never lose cable. lol I think that I will move to Canada if my cable gets shut off. Any extra room? dl

We got ready for the switch a few months ago also. We did not want a cable bill but it was the best way to go instead of buying the converter box and antenna and such. We will continue with it also so my husband can watch his lovely shows and movies LOL.

Yes I'm ready because I have cable but I thought the picture was going to be clearer. I don't see a bit of change at all.
