If it's one thing that bothers me...

That is crazy fast drivers on the road or on the freeway. Living out here in California has got one of the most rude and fast speed drivers that make you wonder like, "What's the rush for these people?" Makes me wonder how so much people driver having a license if the limit is 65 MPH on the freeway, yet people go beyond it going about 80 to 90 MPH trying to beat traffic or just doesn't really care. When I drive on the road I usually go say 35 to 40 MPH and on the freeway 65 to 70 MPH -- I wouldn't find it convenient to go past it just to be wise on how I use my gas. Then again who knows the person who is driving has a license. I look at it as it's common sense to know that gas prices are going up day by day. Now it's up to $3 a gallon. Isn't it obvious that when people drive so fast that it will drain their gas tanks quickly? Don't people realize the more they do so have to pump up more gas and waste more money during the week? Funny how people come up with the lamest excuses when highway patrol pulls them over. The usual you here is, "Well the other person is speeding." or "I'm late for an appointment." or "That other person cut me off so I had the right to drive faster." -- Then come to think don't people realize what they're saying? Idiots! Nothing but pure idiots! I have to say that if people have to be somewhere at the certain time should time themselves early enough so that they don't have to speed drive to the place they need to go. I just call it stupidity and lack of patience on their part. Don't you agree? Anyone of you drive past the speed limit? What's your excuse? And those of you who drive past that speed limit deserve to have a driver's license? No! You don't!

I'm guilty of driving past the speed limit, and yes, I have my driver's license. As you pointed out here in California people tend to drive faster than the posted speed limit. I've had people tailgate me on several occasions and with driving on a two lane country road it isn't like I can go into the slow lane and let them pass because there is no other lane to do so (except the oncoming lane ). With all the years of living here I feel it is in my best interest to go with the flow of the traffic, especially on this type of road. I wouldn't want a road rager on my @ss, after all. It's funny, in all the years I've been driving I've only been pulled over once. Fortunately the cop was kind enough to let me go with a warning. Speaking of cops, they seem to drive faster than anyone around here. And no, their sirens aren't on. So, what part of California are you in?

I'm coming crazy San Diego. That's one thing I hate too is people that tail gate especially behind me. I shine them just to step on my brake to slow down. It's their bad for driving up to close to me. And if it's one thing I hate is when I'm driving up on the fast lane the person on my right is trying to speed up trying to cut me close while there's another car on the right in front of me. I just tend to speed up so that they don't enter to cut me off. It shows them for the idiots they are.

There seem to be speeders everywhere I drive to, and I don't go over the speed limit, yet I don't drive like a turtle either. My thought has always been that they're showing off, because the car commercials that I see the vehicles are always speeding around curves and such. There couldn't possibly be that many pregnant and expecting mothers racing to the hospital, could there be? LOL Just let them breeze on by, as you probably do. Oh, and have you witnessed drivers speeding only to have to stop at a red light? It's nuts. Have a great weekend!

True I have to agree with you on that about people showing off their rides like those with a 300, BMW, Altima and other expensive rides. It will be even a bigger issue with them if they get caught speeding with a ticket, then having to deal with bigger issues if they have expensive car payments every month. You too have a great weekend!

I must say that I'm a pretty safe driver. Though I'm mostly on my bike, whenever I get the chance to drive (I love to ride more than drive), I will stick to the speed limit. I spent a considerable amount of money to get my driver's license and I don't intend to get it revoked or being given speed points. I also believe in peace driving, just like you. I hate to speed over the speed limit because I just want to be fair to all road users. When I encounter speed demons, I just stay away from their lanes.

I used to be a speed demon and it just isn't worth it though.

This is a really good discussion because everyone has to drive on the roads at some point whether it be going to work,or going to the store to get groceries or going somewhere else, and I am sure that different people have different opinions when it comes to drivers,I am sure that some people do not like fast drivers and wish they would slow down, and then I am sure that think it is okay to drive fast as long as you do not hit anyone, and I can understand that different people have different opinions, and I do not think it is right to speed, especially if you are putting others in danger,it seems that nowadays you have to watch everyone else because no one seems to watch where they are going anymore, and I remember one time me and my fiance were going to Food Lion, and there is a Wendy's near Food Lion, and we were pulling into the parking lot,and a van nearly hit us head on because they did not watch before pulling out of Wendy's parking lot,and then they had the nerve to yell at me out the window as if it was my fault, and I remember my brother was telling me that someone pulled out infront of him without looking on his way to work one night, and he had to pull into the other lane to keep from hitting them, sometimes it makes me not even want to drive, have a great day, good luck with your life, and all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting my friend.

I like fast drivers. Especially when I have my daughter and my grandkids in the car with me. The fast drivers seem to want to get there first. I can be driving the speed limit and have several people pass me like I am setting still. It always makes me shake my head and wonder why no police are around to see them. If they think they can afford the gas let them. Let them vent on others on how much they have to spend. Maybe, someday, they will get it but I seriously doubt it.

Man you are really frank about that topic. I have to admit yeah at times I do drive past the speed limit. And yeah it does get me mad how california drivers go crazy on the road. I get cut off too and just boils my blood when it happens. But yeah you're right about being wise about gas prices. Man it would suck even more getting caught by highway patrol and getting a speed ticket you know.

Thanks for replying and yeah you just got to be careful when you do drive on the road. Especially those who tail gate and end up getting in some accident. Another thing too is that many out there that drive have no car insurance. Hope you got that too.

I agree. those people probably have all kinds of tickets and high insurance premiums also. They are more prone for accidents too. I always leave in enough time so I do not have to speed.

Crazy indeed, those drivers who were over speeding are bound to accident waiting list. They are many in our country. That's why i no longer wonder why there's lot of vehicular accident in our locality.

I Hate it too, it bugs the hell out of me that they put other peoples live in danger aswell. For what a couple of spare minutes? And here where i live, the more they are in the wrong the more they give out about it. Here its the taxi drivers that speed, because they own the cars and drive like maniacs and are considered the bottom feeders of the Maltese People chain. I dont mind if you go a couple of mph over the limit but not like excessively. Great topic, Happy mylotting

forget driving with them in the road. try being in a car with one. holy crap. my sister is a well known for being a lead foot and everyone always buckle when they get in. although she barely gets into car accidents, it stills feels like she is going to everytime im in there. but on the other hand. i feel very safe with my dad, no matter how fast he goes. he's a professional. he's been driving for 20 years and never got into an accident, not once!
