Is the Honeymoon Over?

United States

Are people beginning to waken up? Or do you think it is just a fluke? The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 32% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -2. That’s the President’s lowest rating to date and the first time the Presidential Approval Index has fallen below zero for Obama. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

This is how it always works, no real conclusions can be made. I'm just glad we have a reasonable man as president with the mess in Iran going on now. Maybe we should have just let the Republican's win to satisfy the extreme right here in the U.S. and forget about Democracy.

N4life, you say "I'm just glad we have a reasonable man as president with the mess in Iran going on now" well I hate to disillusion you but President Obama is NOT supporting the Iranian people at all! Please wake up to this fact. Instead he seems to be supporting the Iranian government rather than the Iranian people who are fighting for their freedom and democracy; he's been a wimp concerning the Iranian protestors. Although I voted for President Obama last November and I'm a moderate Democrat, I'm very disappointed in his job performance so far. At first I wasn't b/c he was signing legislation into law to protect women's rights but now overall I feel that he is not a leader, and seems to be all talk no action. Also, I ask you how is President Obama helping the American people with his 'bail outs' - by NOT helping them at all and just taking our money (taxpayers are funding these bail outs)! President Obama is just another politician who only cares about himself, his family and his rich friends just like all the presidents who went before him. Oh they all 'pretend' to care about the American public, but they only care about you if you are rich.

I don't think the voters who put him into office really understood that 'hopes and dreams' can't make up for lack of experience.

It is very easy to talk about change, and about fixing things, but I am sure it is not happening, no matter how much some people talk.

That's a breath of fresh air to me. I do hope people are waking up and seeing what he is and what he's doing to our nation. I know there are quite a few left who believe in him, but maybe when it gets down where they live, they'll understand.

Was there ever a honeymoon according to the Fox/Rasmussen poll? I really don't place a whole lot of importance in opinion polls at this point in an Administration. With everything going on in the nation and the world today you could get a different answer from the same person from one hour to the next. Annie

"Are people beginning to waken up? Or do you think it is just a fluke?" I hope they're beginning to wake up and wipe the sleep from their eyes. I'm thinking of starting a club for those with voter's remorse. I think they'll need a place to vent and console each other. Poor smucks.

This guy is very dangerous, all you gotta do is look who mentored him thru his youth and watch the events unfold before our eyes. You all thought Bush spent meaningless, what gives this guy the right to quadruple the spending with pork at that.

Spending my future great great grandchildren into submission, thats pretty serious if you ask me. Things are going on with this guy I thought I'd never see, at least some of america is finally waking up, once they get past the state run media.

I expected this to happen, and I think it would happen no matter who was elected. It is like the old Roman days when the people demanded Bread and Games to the extent that the society was ruined. It is interesting to watch this process. Thanks for posting it.

I think the people who have sense are waking up. The trouble is that the Democrats are allowing Obama more leeway and even if he decides to make himself dictator of all the United States, supreme ruler of all he surveys, they will still think that he is the best. Hate to say it, but it seems like what has been preached for the last ten or so years, that the black guy can always save us, the black guy is right even though he is only half black and even though he is not descended from the slaves brought over from Africa to the North American continent. It is part of the savior complex based on race rather then ability. So they give him more leewawy then they did Bush or any former presidents. Why I doubt that Roosevelt who of course had the Second World War to contend with, or Kennedy who had to live through the Cold War and the Cuban Crisis would have gotten away with changing America as Obama intends to do.

What hurts me is that my husband and some of mg in-laws seem to think that Obama is a great guy and my husband said the only reason I do not like him is because Obama is black. Well I guess Canadians are falling for that savior routine as well.

All Obama has ever done is what someone else has suggested. He is too stupid to come up with an idea of his own. If he did come up with a plan he would be too cautious to put it into action afraid it would fail and take away a little of his glory. I sure hope people that voted for that sucker are happy. I also hope enough of the people still have the good sense to vote him out of office with only one term. If we are not real careful that will be more than this nation can stand. Art

I know that some of the suckers that voted for him are regretting it but unfortunately they are just like my best friend who voter for him....too stubborn to admit they made a grave mistake.

Sooner or later more and more people will realize our nation is being spent into collapse and that Obama is just another disconnected political leader that was rammed down our throats by the main stream media.

I am so furious at the nation being blinded by the media's constant, daily endorsement of Obama. They blow every thing that flatters him out of proportion(fly swatting!!) and yet completely ignore or downplay anything he does which is ruining our country.

And of course that will result in lower ratings, at some point I hope they get lower than the grades of President Bush.

He is not finished with us. If he keeps on going the way he is the worst it yet to come. So far he has not really affected your country so you do not know how the people here really feel. The media covers it up so the truth is not publicized. We have been getting a steady diet of how great Obama is! For days all I saw was what an amazing job he did of swatting a fly.

Better or worse, he's America's current President. All other presidents, past or future, are moot. Like it or not, the burden of America's wellbeing falls on Obama's shirtless shoulders. I don't know about any other American, but I'm sick and tired of settling for "not as bad as the last guy." :-)

hitler was an evil and hate filled piece of work. whether or not you agree with him obama is not the same. i wouldn't have compared bush to hitler either, it's just not the same league. i also think all these comparisons to hitler diminish one of the worst episodes of human history

Yeah, they are beginning to realized that what we warned them of is all true, but now it's too late. He's shredding the Constitution, & we now live in the U.S.S.A., i.e., the United Socialist States of America. My life will be a dim memory before our country recovers, IF it can. Not that I'm going down without a fight, but I'm convinced we lack the knowledge & grit to stop his ilk any more. Long live the Nanny State! Papers, please. Maggiepie

I would think that many people, not all though, have understood that most recessions recover in a time span. Obama made a major play that he was going to shorten this time span, and repair everything. Clearly that has not happened. People were idiotically all for the bailouts and stimulus under the theory that it would cause a quick prompt recovery. Now without the "quick prompt part" many are starting to wonder if just maybe they made a mistake. $10 Trillion is a lot of money to repay for something that really didn't seem to help.

I REEEEEALLLLLY hope people are beginning to wake up - wouldn't that be wonderful? We should impeach him before the entire country goes to hell...we are well on our way. He has been in office for such a short time and every one of his "changes" has been detrimental to society as we know it. Mr. Obama - hope is NOT a strategy! We need a strong leader, one that can make a wise decision and stick to it!
