It's my birthday today and am all alone - again..

Well this is officially the fifth birthday in a row that I celebrate my birthday by myself. Most times on my b-day I'm either working or when I was a student I had exams on my birthday. Last year I was a complete sickie on my b-day and this year well it's just another normal day. I've never had a birthday party (or even been surprised) Most people remember my b-day two weeks after it's gone and they bring consolation presents (usually just a mars bar or a lollipop.) Never really had a present so won't be expecting any.
So another b-day alone and I'm getting used to it. Although I always picture one day (probably when am a hundred) there will be at least a balloon blown up to celebrate my b-day. Anyway haven't heard the phrase "happy birthday" to me from somebody else in almost ten years so I'll just go ahead and log on to hallmark.com and send myself a b-day card, the one that sings happy b-day to me.
So I guess I won't hear happy b-day so I'll just say it to my self. Happy Birthday to me..

Happy birthday to you, well sometimes i also feel that way. But its ok anyway celebrating my birthday is not really in my vocabulary. I am just happy spending my birthday with my 19 months old daughter like what i do with my last birthday. My daughter and i just go to mall, her father was working abroad and there are no chance we can be together in my birthday. Anyway, dont be sad its your day now, cheer up! ENjoy the day and keeps smiling

Yes I am totally grateful that God has granted me another precious year. I will be going to celebrate that in church on Sunday. Thank you both for such lovely comments.

Happy Birthday to you, sometime I also sad when my birthday comes like what happened on my Birthday last April. Remember that God give you another year even if you are alone you can enjoy your birthday by entertaining yourself like going to mall or going to church.

I'm sorry to hear that I hope that this is going to be the last sad birth day that would ever have. I really don't like to do anything on my birhtday I don't know why but I actully get depresed on my birthday. I also hope that this is not your case and that it is just because other people might not remember your birth day. I normally do not remember other peoples birthdays well exept my kids because I have to write them in medical paper or in school papers.
I do wish you the best on your special day and also all days after your birthday.

lol you sound like my uncle. Every year on his birthday he's depressed and cries and he literally says "one more wrinkle on me means one less woman that finds me attractive!"

well im sure its late but happy birthday to you!!!!!! that really stinks that you had to spend it alone, i kind of know the feeling, my family down in florida, including my dad never called me to wish me happy birthday.. but i bet he likes the fact that i didnt call him on fathers day. i know that sounds selfish but what goes around comes around right? well i hope your next birthday is better
