I think I won't buy a desktop again

Since I am busy with cleaning my house lately when I am home. Finally I decided to give away my desktop. It uses a lot of space and I don't use it at all because I have used laptop already. The desktop is heavier. The laptop is portable. Besides, today the laptop is not as expensive as before. So if I am going to buy a computer again, I will never buy a desktop.

I don't really understand. The internet fee is the same no matter you use desktop and laptop. As to how much the laptop you have to pay, you can try www.dell.com.cn and I bought my laptop from it and I am satisfied with it. I don't like to pay for my laptop every month, and this is why I pay it once and I don't want to pay extra interest for it.

laptop vs desktop - I prefer laptops to desktops as it is very convenient to carry it around.
Good morning, youless. I agree with you that a laptop is more convenient and saves a lot more space. What's more, it is much cheaper now than it used to. You can get a very good one with around 5000 RMB for a good brand. I have not had a desktop yet. Still I like my laptop as it is portable and I can carry it anywhere I wish to. It is a hard job that you have been doing recently cleaning the house. I can see how much time you have to spend on it making it nice and clean and reorganize the furniture the way you desire to. Good job. Have a good day, youless.

Hi both of friends here. 5000 RMB is equivalent to the approximately value of 2500 RM in the local currency here. Yeah, I bought the laptop I use currently last August around that price. I love this device very much and it has become my best companion. If without this wonderful portable laptop, I couldn’t login mylot while I’m on local vacation Yeah, this is the great advantage of having a laptop! Hi jisisr, I’m glad to know that there is no more disgusting computer noise that would drive you crazy anymore after having the replacement of a brand new pc in your office at the moment

I agree with you youless, the desktop is clumsy with a big cpu. Though I had replaced the monitor with the flat LCD screen, it still seems very much clumsy if to compare with the handy and light laptop. After purchasing my first laptop I seldom use my desktop anymore, but it’s still useful to me. I have a good quality old model ribbon printer which I’m still quite dependent on it. I could fix the printer to the desktop only, for the port of the laptop is too small for the cable to fix in. I have to print out the monthly report for my part time jobs by the end of every month. I don’t want to waste extra money to get another new printer for my laptop as I use the printer once in a month only. For the sake of convenient my hubby had fixed 4 wheels to the computer desk to make it much easier to move. one desktop is too much for me at the moment, so definitely I won't buy another one anymore Happy posting and take care!

I understand, this is why today the printers use USB connection so that it can fit to laptop.

Hello lkbooi. I also have a printer, a Epson Stylus C43UX one, but I seldom use it. I have not used it for years. I usually use the one in my office in the school. I am now thinking of giving it away to someone who needs it since I don't use it any more. It occupies one corner of my table. Besides, I don't like the motherboard of a desktop, because it makes noise, especially when it is old. The noise can make me crazy. I cannot stand it. We used to have an old desktop computer in the office, which made loud noise. Later it was invited out of the office with a new one taking its place. Now this new one is working perfectly... Good day to you, lkbooi.

i think desktops are only relevant / useful at workplace or schools.. but for home or personal use.. almost no one uses desktops anymore... people prefer to be 'mobile'.. use the computer wherever it is convenient to them - on the bed, at the dinner table, on the porch.. you can pick your favourite spot.. but i think the desktop will only totally become obsolete - for offices or schools, it is more secured to have desktops because no one can carry and steal them home...

Ya thats good decision when you are opting for another pc and replacing current Desktop PC. but first you should consider about budget and smart choice of Laptop. many companies provide laptop. you should look feature fo Laptop more ram, more storage capacity and top most feature is Bettery life, Processor capacity and RAM, wifi technology.

Though the portable one is more convenient to use, i also like desktop for the reasons of higher cost performance and preferable view. How difficult to move when you take a 22 inch wide-screen laptop. So, buy a desktop for more comfortable life

I agree with you to an extent. I love having my laptop but I do think that I want a desktop so that I have something that will last a long time. Desktops do last longer overall than laptops. But I would only use the desktop for games or something like that and I would get a desktop that is more compact.

Would love to buy a laptop computer. As you say, the desktop is heavy and clunky and hard to move. In the past three years, four computers have crashed and all have been desktop. They are not very reliable. Plus, our local Walmart sells laptops for $299 US at Christmas. That's less than I paid for two of my last brand new computers. Seems a better deal.

For me, I use Laptop all my life... I got it since it was too expensive and now it is really cheap to get an extra one ... :). however, laptop is still expensive to fix and parts tho... so you have to very careful with it. I still love Laptop and never think to get a desktop at all. Desktop is hard to move around.

I feel the same way about using a desktop, and I don't plan on buying one again. My old computer was a desktop and it broke down some time ago. At first I thought about buying a new desktop, but I changed my mind when I went to shop. The laptops were less expensive than I expected and I decided to buy a laptop instead of a new desktop. I definately don't regret that decision, because I love my laptop, and I find it much more convenient than a desktop. The only time I miss my old desktop is when I want to play games on my computer. My old computer was better at that, but I prefer my laptop in other situations.

Desktop computer a lot consume more power than laptop. And, I need the better cooler fan for the desktop. Probably I would buy a laptop with LCD 15", but I must test it.

i dont like a desk top either, they often become too cumbersome to carry around and that could cause problems of not being able to get them fixe properly and police asking you for the receipt of pyurchase and all that, i like a laptop because it is easier to carry around and use

I am also planning to buy a laptop since its now affordable and a very portable device. But I do admit that in terms of durability, the desktop computer is still far more durable than the laptop, but with our fast paced life nowadays, it is really much better to maintain a laptop than a desktop, and of course, it saves a lot in space too.

I notise with most young people they prefer to use laptop, but with me, desktop seems to be a fixed pieve of equipment attached to the desk. Otherwise, I would feel something is missing. That is only my personal impression, and the other thing is the screen could be a bit larger. I admit for its size, desktop could be a hindrance for a small room.

I think i will still keep a desktop in my room. As both of desktop and laptop have its advantage and disadvantage. The reason i like destop is becasue you can have a bigger screen, much bigger than the laptop. It works good when you watch a moive online. hehe. It's true that laptop is easier to carry and stock. But i still want to have a desktop.

I was so attached to my desktop and I wouldn't exchange it for the world, but when my computer "crashed" apparently due to old age, my husband convinced me to buy a laptop instead. That's when my love affair with my laptop started. Indeed a laptop is more convenient, more stylish and more "in tune" with the needs of people like us.
