Hi Friends, I am back once again. No, i had not gone on a vacation. Remember, i had said that i had received an assignment to translate a book from the Indian language Hindi into English? I have just completed it and submitted it yesterday. After it is approved i will be paid $200.It took me six and a half weeks to complete it as i first wrote the translated script by hand and then put it into MS Word, refining and correcting as i typed. I used to work for 6 to 7 hours daily, so i had no time for anything else including Mylot, not even the newspapers.I enjoyed the work very much and now that it has been submitted, i feel relieved. I am awaiting the payment which of course will take a little while, but the most important thing is that the book will be published with my name on it and will be accessible to billions of readers all over the world. when it is finally published i will give you the title of the book. It will not be expensive, i can assure you.So, i am back and happy to be in Mylot once more and this is my 1st discussion after a month and a half.Cheers!

Congratulations! It is really an honor to get the assignment, and a pleasure to see the job done with success, esp. to be followed by acknowledgement and pay. Good luck to you. I did some translation of an american writer out of my own initiative. When I got it finished, I feel equally happy and relieved in a sense. By the way, daughter of my former colleague is to visit India to join a government sponsored survey with international students. Her mother is concerned about her, but she is so confident of her choice. Hope she will add in her experience of overseas projects after a similar one in Sweden last vacation.

good for you! Please do give me us the title. What kind of a book is it? Fiction, non-fiction?

Hey! Congratulations! I'm sure you feel relieved now that your task is completed. That's really cool about having your name on the book. It will most likely get you even more work in the future, once the book comes out. I've always wanted to learn a second language in order to do translation work. I know a little bit of German, Spanish and French, but not enough to be a translator. Maybe, one of these days, I'll force myself to sit down and learn one of them better, most likely Spanish, since English and Spanish are the most frequently spoken languages in the U.S. Until then, all I can do is be happy for people like you, who are able to do translation work. Again, congratulations!
