All Alone on Independence Day

Well my wife has to work today till 11 p.m. My grandsons are all at their dads this weekend. My daughter doesn't want to do anything today. Who knows where and what my son is doiong as well. So I am left alone. But wait.....I am going to a local NASCAR short track tonight for their 4th of July Eve of Destruction. There will be 2 Monster Trucks, Drifter cars, figure 8 races, Pro4 Truck racing, and a few other wild crash and bang types of races. Then all followed up by a large fireworks display. Are you alone for USA's Independence Day? What are you plans either way today?

Nope I'm not which is really nice, Finally one day that my hubby don't have to work and I have my son here with me as well.. One thing that I don't understand on Holidays that people have to work.. It should be set that all business take that day off so they can spend it with their family.. your plan seems awesome i wish we had something like that around here cause I'd be there for sure! Hope you have a wonderful time!

Hopefully next year you two will be able to share that togehter.. I am sure she's not to happy about having to work on such a day... God bless you Grandpa Bob and have a wonderful 4th of July!

Some Holdiays are like that such as Christmass etc. But restaraunts and stores are still open on Holidays ands my wife works at a restaraunt. I can't recall the last time she and I were together to see a fireworks display.

Don't forget the feel of oil and rubber on the face as well.
I sit right along the fence most times so I get a lot of debris.
My face at times has been black when I got home from the races.

We have dirt tracks that are mostly red clay here in Oklahoma. So by the time we leave, between the grit in our hair, and a good coating of black and red dust, we're pretty colorful when we leave. One very warm evening, we stopped for something cold to drink on the way home. We got a lot of stares because we looked like we'd been on the losing side of a street fight. I don't know why the t-shirts sold are white, but at the end of a good race, they are a different color on the front than on the back. Enjoy your races this evening!

My husband had to work today to. He is on call. He as called in some problem at the flower farm he works at as a maintenance guy.
It sounds like you will still have some fun...me I will be bore..stay safe my friend.

I will be spending the 4th with my hubby and granddaughter. She is staying with us for 8 weeks.IT is so nice to have her with us. She is from Kansas City and wanted to spend some summer time with us. Rigt now we are having a Wild West Festival here. It been going on since July 2nd.
this morning there was a parade, and this evening Davy Jones from the Monkeys will be performing tonight.
Tomorrow we will be having our big fireworks display. Oh I forgot to say we are also have a carnival with all kinds of rides.

We are having the annual Taste Of Minnesota going on through Sunday evening here. Fireworks each night and yop acts for concerts. Sort of top anyhow. Breet Micheals, Leonard Skynard and others along those lines. The top and best act was Tursday, Stained.
Have a great time with the grand daughter as well.

Oh I don't feel you are alone today, you do have your dad there with you. :) As far as I know now we don't have any plans for today. We will be watching NASCAR Sprint Cup races tonight from Daytona. Goooo Tony "Smoke" Stewart. I sure hope he does good and wins.
It sounds like you will have a really fun night, just too bad your grandson's are not there to go with you.

Actually, not top sound mean, but dad is not real good company. He doesn't do a thing but sit and do word search puzzles. It is woprk just to get him to talk to anyone actually. I've got the race sceduled to record on DVR for tonight and I'l;l watch it when I get home around midnight.

Hi GrandpaBob,
Happy 4th of July! I hope you'll have a great time upon going to your local NASCAR. There's lot more to enjoy even if you are alone and I'm sure you will meet people who will keep you company for the day.
I'm not an American but we do celebrate 4th of July here in the Philippines. We call this day the Filipino-American friendship day. Its nigth time here and I'm hearing the fireworks outside from the previous American base.

I am alone for many holidays. Christmas, New Year's and Thanksgiving included or my hubby is alone because I am working. Today we happen to be off together. Labor he is working, and Christmas he is working.
I make plans with friends for labor day and sometimes for Christmas or I volunteer to work so my co-workers can spend time with families.

I'm sorry to here that. I was not alone today but we did not do anything either. We worked last night and I painted some of my ceiling this morning. It was rainy here also. I hope you had a good time at the Eve of Destruction. Sounds like alot of fun.

4th of July alone here also - I'm fine though family is busy doing their own thing and I'm trying to get some writing and catching up done as I don't have enough time or energy during the work week. Enjoy the track tonight sure there will be lots of people there :)

Yep, the dogs and I will be alone. Luckily it is supposed to rain heavily so they won't be scared by fireworks (big ones!) on every block. I saw some lovely displays last night, though, as they cowered under the covers--I could see them from my bedroom window and they were awesome.

I am sorry that you were all alone on the 4th, but it sounds like you had a really fun evening planned. I hope you had a good time at the race track. We had a party at our house yesterday so we were not alone, in fact we were not alone until 2:00 AM, som people just don't know when to leave. Just kidding, we had a really nice time and a really nice 4th of July.

To have your child with you on ghe fourth is at least a pluse. You get to share it with your bundle of joy. It's too bad noone else could share it with you but look at the bright side you have your child which is more precious than anything with you. Happy belated fourth.

I am spending the 4th with my one month old son. True, we aren't doing anything special, but at least I am not alone. :) I think having him with me would be better than watching fireworks alone.

I am alone today.....but I am packing to leave on vacation on Monday. I drive up to the cities tomorrow and fly out to New York on Monday morning....I am not excited yet...but come tomorrow I will be! LOL...had company two nights this week so I am okay with being alone....and I did go to the parade last night with friends! Have fun tonight and Happy 4th of July!

Well I have my 3 year old son but other than that ill be alone. Plus he is sick right now so we are not going to the big event here on base that they are having. My hubby is deployed and I only know one person here on base so far so I guess in a way I am alone :(... Happy Fourth :)
