Just wanted to update everyone on my first concert experience. I had a blast! I didn't get in until 4AM so it has taken me a day to get over it..lol. The performance was excellent and long too. Hank 3 played from 10pm and at 3am..he was still playing when we left. My b/f says my first concert spoiled me. That they normally don't play that long. I got my pic taken with Mr. Tubbs..the singer of the opening band. I was really close to the stage and all of a sudden all he!! broke loose and I realized I was in the mosh pit..LOL..I also realized really quick that maybe that place wasn't for me. Ever had your pic taken with a band member? Ever been in an area you thought you maybe should get out of? lol

I've been to concerts, did I respond to your other discussion and say I hadn't? I know I was contemplating responding and if I did most likely I said I hadn't been to concerts. I have been to a few. They were all at clubs, so I guess that is why I didn't consider it a concert. I've never been a mosh pit, I chose to keep away from that. I haven't ever gotten my picture taken either. Oh, I have been to a concert so to speak at the YMCA where we live, it was for the Relay For Life though, so while he did sing, I don't know that you could call it a concert.

I never have but my friend one time. She had asked the band for their autographs and they wrote them on the sweater she was wearing at the time. I was a teen then and later found the sweater years later in a second hand store. Sure brought back alot of memories. I am glad you had such a good time. So, you ended up in the mosh pit after all. LOL

my best times are my college days , everybody just went out for a picnic almost everyday, travelling different places , movies, without having any fear of attendance as the professor use to mark us present in every class without know that were we present on that day or not ,, really missing those lovely days ,,

Jen...I am soooo glad you had a superlative time...good on ya! Okay, girl...you got me (I guess I am really out of the loop)...what is a "mosh" pit~~~the area for the "groupies?" And NEVER in all my years in the country circuit have I been treated to a entertainer with that kind of energy..WOW..4 a.m.! I sure wished I could have been at the concert, with you...as I have seen both Hank Williams and Jr.,.....what a family! I know I am repeating, but I have pics with Hank Snow, Charlie Pride and the Statler Bros, sure wished I would have dated them now, but I think it was 1974. Get some rest, dear girl...and cherish those memories. Luv ya..and Cheers!

Heyya pergammano!! That mosh pit is where everyone pushes and shoves and bumps each other on purpose. It was a bit rowdy there. The entertainer was upset because someone in his crew got arrested that night sometime before the show. He said they were going to make it a legendary concert because the last time they were there Knoxville knew how to treat someone giving a live show...lol..he never left the stage. His band did for a few minutes but he done solos while they were away. It was outstanding!

Once again, so glad your experience was warm & memorable...and so glad you were treated to an extra long concert! Thanks for clearing up the "mosh" pit question! Guess I am showing my age...not Knowing what a mosh pit is, and being to so many concerts in the past! You are bringing back lots of good memories, to me! And as I wrote to you, about the Merritt Mountain Music Festival...the Nashville of the North....SAD NEWS...after 10 years in Merritt, and two in Hedley....they have decided to CANCEL the Festival! Economic times! The city of Merritt, is crying for some-one to take it over....as in the last ten years, it has pumped about a hundred million into the town...and as I said, the entire town is painted with Country Music greats on the sides of buildings! A sad day, here, up North! Have a spectacular day, dear friend...and Cheers!

wow thats wonderful you had such a great time. im so happy for you. is it possible that he is related to the old Ernest Tubbs of the 50's? i've never been to a concert of anyone yet famous. i've been to 2 of metal music performers that were quite good but they never aquired fame. i had a great time tho.

He is actually related to Earnest Tubbs. A great nephew I think. He and Hank 3 said it was a legendary performance because it had been so long since the Williams and Tubbs had performed together on stage. Hank 3 does half country and half metal. He did more country that particular concert though. Did you get in the mosh pit when you went to your concert? I'm amazed at the mosh pit...lol..Thanks for responding.

Hi syankee! Thanks. I am looking forward to seeing a few more in the future. Concerts were never something I got to do. I was always so busy with working and trying to raise children. I just never took the chance to go until now. I can;t wait to see more though. Take care and thanks for the response.

Hey Jen! Congrats on going to your very first concert! And how cool to be close enough to have your picture taken with one of the band! And to be in the mosh pit! Way cool! I'm to phucking old for that! No way! I am so glad you had such a great time! No way I could go to a concert that starts at 10 to 3 anymore! Those days are gone! I might be able to stay up those hours at home, but not out! Been there done that and it's over! I never went to a concert that lasted that long! Your boyfriend is so right! The bands I saw didn't play anywhere near that long! No way! I guess they weren't getting paid enough! That's ok! I saw some kick azz bands so I'm more than ok with it!
