Are you smarter than your girlfriend/boyfriend?

Lets see how many of you mylotters claims that they are smarter than their girlfriend or boyfriend? Most couple sometimes hit their egos if they found out that their boyfriend/girlfriend,husband or wife is smarter than her/him. especially when it comes to work, or perhaps promotions. Are you insecure?
I admit, my partner is smarter than I do. but, i take it as possitive beacuse it helps me a lot especilly in decision making.=p

Currently, I'm single, but my last boyfriend was smarter than me. He was very logical and seemed to be able to figure out problems faster than I could. He was also a lot calmer than me. No, I wasn't afraid to admit it. I always told him, but he was not humble and had no problems claiming to be smarter than me, and many others.

=p it's so good to have a partner that is blessed when it comes to knowledge. Sometimes smarter people are hardheaded.lol So, what happened to your relationship with him, if you don't mind?

No, I don't mind. Two things many. One, we had been planning to go on a vacation, but I said I can't because I'm currently unemployed and it's not fair for you to put out all the money. He insisted it was ok by him. So, we started to really plan for it. Then, he started getting very bossy and didn't want to compromise, because he was putting out all the money. So, I told him, "Look, I'm not being difficult. There's just certain things I can't do even if I were paying for us to go." Anyway, it turned out we ended up not going. He claimed not to be mad, but that was kind of the beginning of the end. A month or so later, he starts telling me about this girl who is just his "friend", I never liked this girl and knew there something funny. Also, this girl has a weak moral character. Well, supposedly she was always hitting on him and making advances. I told him, it's your choice: you can be with me or stay "friends" with her. After that, he just ignored me. So, I'm glad it's over. I can not put up with such drama.

well i am 19 and single..i did not have any relationship to think off..
any how i have read all the answers for this discussion..they are quite interesting..
i dont have any girlfriend....
and i like to have one, but i am not getting any..i dont know the reason..

oops!!!!not in that way...i am single in the form of not having a girlfriend..
i have my parents and a huge relative cirlce..
and i am trying to get a perfect girl...i am not talking in the form of getting married at this age ...just for fun, going out, enjoying this age with a girl outside, shopping a cute one to understand my feelings..

since birth? you haven't tried getting in to a relationship? how come? are you looking for the "perfect girl"? well, maybe it is not the right time for you, your young and has a promising future. just don't be hurry, just enjoy your life being a youth as long as you know what is right or wrong.

Hello,
I am smarter than my husband in most things, but he is good with talking. I am smarter with decision marking and money, and much much more. He usually let me decide for almost everything in the house and also for him.
well, at first I hate to make someone else decision but when I get use to it then I love it... but sometimes it makes me feel so bad cuz I just go on my way only or something. lolz

Maybe he likes having other's, well you, make decisions for him. Maybe it makes life easier. He doesn't have to think as much and you won't ask him a lot of questions, so he can just let you do it all?

My boyfriend is DEFINITELY smarter than me. I always tell him that he's a very smart man! He knows everything- that guy! But he doesn't like a know-it-all either. He just sits there quietly until you ask for your opinion. =P
And when it comes to cars - that boy sure knows EVERYTHING about them!
He's also calm, doesn't freak out easily like I do. And he's very lax when it comes to dealing with things - one thing that I appreciate because I get stressed out easily. So he definitely balance me out.
Here's another reason why I think he's smart - he chose me! hahahahaha - I'm kidding!

yah, women easilly panicked and end up in wrong decisions.lol It happends most of the time and often expect from our boyfriend to help us insatntly.lol
I can say that man is so into cars and sometimes they give more attentions rather than their partner, right?lol

I think it would be mean to say, Oh, I'm so much smarter then my boyfriend!" I think its mean for anyone to say that. When I think about certain things and situations and theres some things I know more about, and theres a lot of things that he knows about that I don't. When your in a relationship its good if you can learn new and different things from eachother. I like that I can go to him with questions about things I don't know about or how to do. And I hope he feels the same. Don't be mean and think your smarter than your partner. Look at it as you guys can go to eachother and learn different things from one another. Thats just my take on it.

I think you are very right, me and my boyfriend don't think either one is necessarily smarter than the other. I know there is a lot he can teach me and I know things he doesn't and can teach him too. So we balance out.

I am totally smarter than my girlfriend, and she tells me everyday. I have to help her almost every day with her school work. College algebra, lit, geology, all stuff I have not learned about for 5 years, and I know more about them than her while she is taking the class. Not trying to brag in any way cause I don't consider my self to be above anyone else, but its pretty obvious between the 2 of us.

During my school days, I observed that men are much smarter in women when it comes to numbers and logical thinking. They said that those who are good in numbers are having trouble when it comes to writing, is that true?

I would say I am slightly smarter than my husband, but try telling him that. Men have inflated egos so the thought of anybody being smarter than them is a big no no. In some respects he is more wiser too, I admit. But on the whole, I feel I am smarter. Men who have wives who are smarter than them have complexes which come in the way of a relationship. Thats life and we must accept it. Men are born with egos.

actually i can't really say who is who between me and my husband...coz we have our own field of specialization! hehehe...there are some things that he is smarter than i am and there are also some things that i am smarter than him...actually we don't really think that one is better than the other...we just simply appreciate each others knowledge and we share what we know ith each other and sometimes we have some healthy discussions at home...and yes we really learn from each other!

I have to say that my partner an I are both smart but it is in a different level. I'm smart like reading people, noticing lots of stuff, very conservative that kind but my partner is very smart to fix lots of problems, work stuff, more internal stuff. He told me I am smart is one of the reason to marry me as well!

I think we both have different talents. He of course is smarter than me when comes to work, he has very good skills in his working field and able to earn money for the family, whereby I am just a tutor, I am not earning as much as him. When come to educate our children, of course I am smarter than him. I have my way to teach our children and of course will give support to me all the time.

I can say that I am smarter than my husband as I am a tutor. But he is self employed and that makes him smarter in the work sense. He brings in more income than me. He works smarter than me. But he gave me the full responsibility of teaching our son because he beliefs that I am smarter than him!

I think that she's smarter than me. lol. HMmm.. I can say that we have our own strengths and weakness. There are certain fields that She's good. There are also fields that she doesn't like in which I am good at. So it depends on a specific area that's Why I can't really say whose smarter. But one thing's for sure, we're both smart. Kidding! :)

I admit that my boyfriend is smarter than me specially in numbers. For me, that's one of the reason why we're still together. I admire those guys who are good in Mathematics.

I personally think in most relationships that it is a mixture. In some things the partner is smarter, while in other things the S/O is smarter. I know that my husband is awesome at math and can do things faster in his head then I can on a calculator. I however am good at spelling and English.
I just think that each person has their strong points as they do their weak. Am I jealous or insecure that he is better at some things? Nope, we bring different strengths to our relationship and we both admire each other.

I do have to admit that my man is not stupid by any means. when it comes to books and schooling I would have to say yes I am smarter than him. When it comes to farming and horses and different gerneral topics he may be smarter than me. everyone has their different areas of expertise so i truly think that it goes both ways. Your man or woman may be smarter than you in areas but you may be smarter than them in different areas as well.

I don't think that he is smarter than me and I am also not smarter than him. We are both smart in diferent ways what I don't know he those and what he those not know I do. The realy diference is in patience I am more patient than him and I think for more ways to fix things and he will try one or two times before he gives up.

Me and my boyfriend are both quite intelligent. Where he is weak I am stronger, but there are areas I'm weaker and he is the stronger one, so we balance each other out and compliment each other's intelligence well. The only think I think he needs to get better at is his spelling and writing. When he hand writes notes or something he hardly ever uses punctuation, and his spelling needs work, but he knows how to spell he just won't I guess lol. Even if he was much much smarter than me I wouldn't care, it would be attractive, and I would make him teach me all he knows! =P
