You go, always go, otherwise one day they will stop asking you! Make the most of everything you can do with him and remember every moment.

Even though I am a sports illiterate, I sat through many kinds of ball games when my kids were younger. I think it was the least I could do. I do not like to disappoint kids, either.

Since your grandson has a special bond with you I should think that you have to sacrifice your time for this little boy. I've heard from my friends that love for grandchildren is so much different than the love of your own children. He seems to have that special place in his heart for you and you should not disappoint him on his birthday. You mean so much to him so a special invitation for his loving grandma. Please go and let him enjoy and be proud of your presence on his very special day.

I knew it was probably an issue of the fact that your spirit was willing but your body is weak. I hope you do not end up with too many aches and pains for going.

it doesn't have anything to do w/my time, i hope i have plenty of that. It's just that i don't get around very well, have to use a cane & don't sit well for long either. I'm going, wouldn't disappoint him for the world. his dad told him why & that they would come to see me tomorrow but he wouldn't have, god love him .

I haven't seen my son play ball since he was 14....I saw all of his games this weekend, and there were 274 teams in this tournament...that's over two thousand seven hundred players, we were switching from field to field...and it was between 98 and 110 degrees, but I hung in there! On Sunday night, when all was over, & my son had a few celebratory bere (sp)....he teared up, and "thanked me" so profusely for coming out to watch him play. It was such an emotional moment! Both of us blubbering.....good thing this wrinkly old face doesn't wear any make-up or I would have looked like a racoon. So....what I am saying, my dearest friend, you just never know the impact we are making. And I am thanking you, for making your little man's day...and going with him! The very last game..very last, a beautiful young lady, took a line-drive right in the face......it's funny how old instincts never die....altho being retired from Ambulance for 18 years, I just jumped right in there....took charge until the Ambulance came.....and I really didn't realize how much I missed the work! All in all a weekend that I would have never missed! Love ya, dear friend!

No! Do not disappoint that boy! I just talked to my son in Oklahoma and one of my grandson's team came in 2nd in District;) My heart ached cuz I'm not there to go, so you knuckle under and go to that game. life is too short. Enjoy that boy. You'll be glad you did and you can rest tomorrow. hang in there, quita88

I live in Montana and for a few years mostly lost contact with my whole family. Sad but true. In Jan. my mama passed away and I had to go back to Oklahoma to tend to her affairs. I got close to my son and gransons again, but had to come back to Montana. My husband is here and has Lou Gehrig's diseae. But, yeah, I would give anything to be at a ball game right now ! Things always work out. You have a great week end too, quita88
