Do you hate washing cupcake pans?

Yes, I do... I have made cupcakes recently and I was just washing it, I couldn't stand it!! I just took off from the kitchen and came to the computer and start this discussion... No matter I clean right off I finish baking or I leave it there over night,it is just hard to clean, I soak it with soap and waterfor a while, it is still difficult to clean off all the cake... Do you guys have any idea of cleaning cupcake pans? I wish I could just put it inthe dish washer and not need to look at it now...

I use silicone cupcake molds that work great you can put them on a cookie sheet or in a cupcake pan. Cleaning the silicone cups is alot easier than cleaning the cupcake pan. I have a bunch of these silicone cups in heart and round shapes. You don't use butter or flour.

You arent supposed to use cooking spray in them either - it makes them really sticky (i goofed and found that out)

cupcake tin - Here is a cupcake tin in need of a clean
Wow, pretty and cooks too. I have heard from my friends that the new silicone bakeware is really easy to use, nothing sticks to it - like cupcakes - they just fall out. I do not eat cupcakes or really bake any more, but I used to bake muffins all the time. I found greasing the pans was sufficient at the time. If I started again I would either use the non stick or try out those silicone bakeware ones. I plan on learning how to bake bread. I have already got the loaf tins and I was sure to get non stick bakewear. I hate washing things that have stuff hard to get off the tins. Why cannot you wash then in the dishwasher if you have one, although I would soak them first just to make sure the stuff comes off.

The only solution I was able to make in making cleaning cupcake pans easier was to buy the newer silicone type muffin pans. Plus I have one that is teflon coated so it makes washing easier.

Hi mermaid...I totally agree with you. That's why lately I don't just use the cupcake pans but also the cupcake wrappers - for some reason I can't think of the name of them. It truly cuts down on the cleaning time when I use them.

I have never had problems with the cupcakes. I grease the cupcakes (even if they are teflon) and then put flour or a coarser flour (like the one used to make cornbread). I preheat the oven on medium. I never follow a recipe direction there: I always heat it less than it says. When they are done and still hot, you turn them over. They will come out immediatly. Then, while the iron is still hot, you pour warm water there and pass a sponge. End of problem!!!

Other baking pans might seem tedious, but cupcake pans are one of the most cleanest as I use papercups to line the pans before I bake. Cupcakes should be baked in paper cups for easier consumptions and keeping. Try it so that you dont have to dirty your pan. I like that you are baking cup cakes as cup cakes are my favourite! :)

I don't usually have too much problem because I always use those cupcake liners. They make a huge difference with the clean-up. For the rest of the pan, I immediately submerge them in some COLD soap water. I've heard that the cold stops the cooking process so the spatters don't get even more cooked on. Seems to work OK for me.

I hate to wash cupcake pans, too, even though I use grease and flour. They're not hard to wash when you do that, but it's tedious anyway, washing one after another. I don't make muffins or cupcakes very often and that's why.

hi, like the otehrs who replied--I also usually use paper cups to line the baking pans-it also helps though that I use non-stick baking pans, which is such a boon! Sometimes I just wipe them off, and personally worth the investment since it's pretty much hassle free when it comes to cleaning them

I have not made cup cakes for a long time but we put those little paper things (dont remember what they are called) in the pan and pour the batter in to them, that way it made clean up very easy.

Making cupcakes with the paper cups works wonders. I had a party for my daughter last week and I made cupcakes too. I forgot to buy the paper cups so I just mde them without it. What I do is use a non stick spray to help with the batter sticking to the pan. I guess that is one trick you can use to prevent easy cleanup.

If you don't want to use paper cups then there are 2 things. one, grease and flour the pans before filling or 2 buy a baby bottle cleaner not the bristle one but the one that has a spongy thing on top of it. Fits well into the cups for cleaning. good luck

Hello, sorry you are having so much trouble with your cupcake pans I usually use the little paper cups that wraps around them. Then, as long as you don't drip the batter, your pans come out without a spec. Another trick that I use all the time is to wrap your pans (any kind) with aluminum foil. I find this very helpful. I don't have alot of time and hate to wash dishes. If you wrap your pan all the way all you have to do is take it off and throw it away...absolutely no washing needed.(unless you tear the foil) Which happens. I've never tried it in muffin pans but I would assume it would work well. You can mold the foil into the cups. They also have pre-molded cupcake wraps that are foil and you don't need the cupcake pan at all. Just fill the wraps and place them on a cookie sheet. There are lots of options out there without having to wear your arm off scrubbing things. Oh...one thing that helps with stuck on food....soak it in water with a dryer sheet. I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but it really does work. Good luck

Oh thanks for sharing! So I could just put foil on the cupcake pans? Will they get sticky to the foil when they are cooked? Let me try again next time!

It doesnt bug me however i have the silicon cupcake pans that are mushy and you just turn them inside out and wipe them. Very easy to clean and they are dishwasher safe too.

The foil idea is not very Green! But wow what did they do in the lod days before the foil and paper were even invented? We used to grease the pans and dust them with flour! What a great concept and best of all it works! But in todays hurry, hurry, world that probably takes to much TIME! LOL! Sounds like your baking them with to much heat, to long, or using the wrong rack in your oven? I have no problem with this, and I love biscuits and muffins! Commonly called cupcakes! tdemex
