Hi Jb,
I would give the best response to whoever deserves it, and it won't matter if it was someone I didn't agree with often, someone who is not on my friends list, I'd even give it to someone who answered to my post the first time. What is important is that person was able to provide the information that was most helpful and maybe most comprehensive. Have a good day!

I give it to them. There's someone in politics that I rarely agree with and they come off as a big pain in the a$$ but, when they have the best response, I'll give it to them, they normally are shocked too

for heavens sakes dont be so snotty okay you think its the best, I dont care if a gorilla made it give the person that deserves
the best response. you can sulk around and dilike the person after
wards. if it is the best,it is the best. are you afraid you are going to find you actually like the person?

I always give the best response to the person who deserves it, and it doesn't matter if I like the person or not. I might give the best response to a person who agrees with me, but I often do the opposite thing. Sometimes I give the best response to a person who really disagrees with me, because that person teaches me something new and makes me see things from a different perspective. The person who disagrees with me sometimes mentions some things that I would never have thought of myself. It is nice when people agree with me, but the people who really teach something are often the ones who disagree with me.

Hi jb, if you are giving out a best response it should go to the best response, particularly if it is an opposing view to your own but well presented. Just because you don't like someone is a bit of a petty reason to not give a best response, maybe they don't like you either but have taken the trouble to come and respond do you. What I personally don't like is when I see posters commenting that they are giving someone the best response because they are a friend, if that if their reason they should just give it out quietly and certainly not post the reason. And the other one I don't like is seeing the poster awarding best response to the person who agrees with them when the others don't. If all you want is agreement then don't start a discussion. That's how I see it.

Hi Jb, speaking strictly for myself, I would give the best responder the best response, regardless of how I "usually" felt about him/her. What better way to perhaps mend some fences? And the best is the best, no matter what.

I give it to the person who I feel gave the best response, no matter who it is that posted it. However, "best response" is subjective, sometimes I'll give it to the person who posts the most off the wall insane thing, simply because it made me laugh really hard.

of course it's subjective, and usually i want to give it to just about every responder but for different reasons (funny, really interesting, best thought out, being kind to trolls, well maybe not that one)- that's why those old discussions had been sitting so long.
anyway, as i've already said a few times (this discussion definitely needed to have been clearer) i try to be fair, best responses might not be particularly important but i certainly don't judge people, in real life or on mylot, because i have different views to theirs.
