Ted Kennedy--just another "Dead White Guy?" Another look at racism

[b]It's startling, really. Now that the "Liberal Lion" of Congress is worm fodder, suddenly even Conservatives have joined in the chorus to sing his praises. This despite his having been a far Left, vicious smearmonger & possibly guilty of manslaughter, or at least depraved indifference. I know, I know, "Speak no ill of the dead, " I get that, BUT....
Leftists have long since maintained huffily that (A) "All whites are inherently racist, & cannot overcome it," & that (B) hosts of "dead white guys" are responsible for all the evil in the world, & Western Civilization is their legacy, & must be overcome because it's oppressive, inherently eeeeevil, & that "multiculturalism" (except for so-called "white culture" is the way to go.
Ooookaaaayyy...so...how is it that they're all (you should pardon the pun) "lionizing" yet another dead white guy? Granted, he was evil, but, if they make an exception for one dead white guy, doesn't that undermine their entire premise?
Does this mean that, maybe, just maybe, white guys--dead or alive--are not evil all the time? What a wake up call for Leftists if they realize this! Is there hope that the racist notion that all of any group are automatically bad?
Does this mean that people whose ancestors here in the USA were slaves will finally thank the dead white guys who died to demolish slavery & later, others like them finally gave minorities full say in their lives by giving them the right to vote were not "inherently racist dead white guys?"
Nah. That sort of inanity will never go away. Otherwise Obama supporters would have to admit that the only way he became president was due to the majority of voters were white who put him in office, & ipso facto are NOT racist.
Can we shut up now about the country being racist, & once more admit that our white AND non-white ancestors have both done good AND bad?
Sigh...not so long as the racist poverty pimps & Kennedy clones in D.C. stir up the ignorance & bitterness, is my guess. Call me cynical, but that's how it's been all my life, anyway.

I think there are good and bad in all kinds of people too. We cannot judge people based only on the color of their skin. I think everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves worthy. I thought we all were created equal anyway. Who knows these days?

[b]Finally! Someone brave enough to answer my question! How does it feel to be that hero, Steph?
I totally agree with you. That's the whole point of my post. Thank you for getting it.
