I love ice-cream, who doesn't but I love Haagen Daz the best, especially Strawberry Cheesecake flavour it's delicious, it's divine, it's absolute heaven. Wolfie can easily eat half a tub in one sitting! At the moment Sainsbury's our food store has Haagen Daz on offer, two tubs for a fiver! And seeing as I do the shopping twice a week in my household as my mum is poorly and I do our 90 year old's neighbour's shopping too then I have control of the trolley, although every time I pass the freezer cabinets, the doors seem to open and these tubs of ice cream jump into my trolley would you believe! And they're Haagen Daz!!!! YUMMY!! So when you to your supermarket and your favourite "NAUGHTY" item is on offer do you stockpile or are you well discliplined to move on, it may not be on your shopping list or do you think hey why not, it's a treat, I'll indulge! Or does it depend on the 'NAUGHTY' item in question, do you justify buying extra in because it's on offer? And finally do you hide the item/s as soon as you get home ;0) So no one can question you about why you bought twenty four tubs of Haagen Daz cos it was on offer LOL! (Wolfie didn't don't worry!)

Hi there Wolfie, I never encountered this sort of problem as our special offers here are a bit different, if two things are wrapped up togther with the words buy one get one free, the supermarket just doubles the price. As for the icecream Greek suprermarket icecream is vile so they couldn't give the stuff away so I indulge in a large scoop when I go to town, but if they offered me another one free I'd decline as it would make me feel sick in the car on the bends going home.

Oh Thea, I'd love to send you a tub, but it would surely melt so you can just think of me with a nice tub of Haagen Daz in front of me ;0) Wicked ain't I ;0) Wolfie may share lots of things but ice cream ain't one of them!

I love ice cream too! I would not be questioning you on why you got so many tubs because i would do that myself if i had the chance. But i haven't tried Haagen Daz yet because i haven't seen it on the supermarket freezers i go to. But when i do find one, i will surely indulge because from what you said, i think it is soooo good.

You will enjoy I am certain about that. I honestly didn't get twenty four tubs LOL! I only get two at a time because if I get too many I'll only eat them and besides we don't have enough refridgerator space for them, just as well I think!

Hahaa, you're quite a gem, aren't you. Well, I am good self-disciplining myself though sometimes it's really hard to resist. It depends on how much money will these guilty pleasures cost me at the end of the month as well. And for your last question, I do not feel the need to hide things that I've bought to myself, that's like getting other people to control or judge your life.

You made a good point about not having to hide things, trouble is if you don't hide things then they get eaten by other people!

You purchased 24 tubs of Haagen Daz!! How big are those tubs? Wowee!! The way you described them made my mouth water. But, I have never tasted Haagen Daz! I don't think they are available in India, are they? We have all sorts of flavors here, but I haven't tasted an ice-cream of the sort you have described. Well, once in a while or whenever you can, it is great to indulge. :) Cheers and happy Mylotting

I do exactly the same thing! When I'm in the store my grocery cart seems to take over and wheel itself over to the freezer section and the ice cream jumps right in the cart! LOL! Haagen Daz is the most fantastic ice cream in the world, isn't it? Being on disability I can't afford to buy it all the time. Only for special ocassions. When I was working I used to buy it all the time. Here's something that most people don't know. Haagen Daz is an American product. They just gave it that name to make it sound more exotic so people would be more apt to buy it and...........it worked! I don't care, though, becsuse I love it! My other 'naughty' items that I love to buy are M&M's. I love both plain and peanut, but, right now I'm going through a 'plain' phase. LOL! I also order pizza about 4 times a month. These are my few luxuries that I afford myself. As for sharing them with anybody? I'm single and don't have to worry about that! Enjoy your ice cream sweetie! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Wow! I never knew it was American, I thought it was from Scandinavia with the name 'haagen' doesn't sound American does it. So I was fooled. Thank you my friend, but I will still carry on buying it nevertheless!

Yea, I was shocked too when I found out. I think it's made in Maine. Like you, though, it won't change my mind about it! It IS the best out there! I read somewhere that they simply gave it the exotic name so that more people would buy it and it worked! LOL! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Truthfully, I don't think there is an item in the supermarket that gravitates me to it....It helps when you shop only after you've eaten a meal, so you are not as hungry when you shop...lol.

Yes you should go shopping on a full stomach, especially when shopping for food and you can save a fortune that way too ;0) But not always as much fun though!

I have a hard time not buying the naughty steaks I want, and the sausages, or gravy and biscuits. I do not find that I am passionate about ice cream or chocolate. I get it occasionally, but not often. Maybe I am just so tired of shopping it is easy, most of the time. I am more in love with the savory things.

It's weird how tastes change, I used to be more of a savoury person, crisps and peanuts etc and now I've gone back to sugary stuffs.

I never have that problem, and neither does my trolley. I can easily avoid ice cream. I seldom eat it and often say "No thanks" when offered it with dessert. It wouldn't bother me if I never had any, but I do enjoy an occasional Magnum or similar. Now chocolate is another thing. Anything with very dark chocolate would jump into the trolley of its own accord if I tried to walk past it, so I never go down the chocolate isle. I KNOW I would buy if I did, so I never let my trolley detour that way either. Funny thing is that whenever I am away on ministry trips, my will power is left at home. Dark chocolate coated ginger always looms at me. Every time I turn round, a Darryl Lea (chocolate) shop is right in front of me. I always blame my work colleague but I know that is unfair. Any cures?

You have me drooling, I much prefer dark chocolate to milk, you could always wear blinkers then you wouldn't be able to see those shops he he he! I do find chocolate ice cream a bit sickly for my palate I have to admit, because it's nearly always milk. That Darryl Lea sounds absolutely divine!

I never do this Wolfie. If something is on offer and I feel like buying it I would still buy only the minimum quanitity that can be consumed within 2 or 3 days.[even if it is a good economy bargain I will not tend to stock it up ].We do not indulge heavily on one item. Moreover, ours is not a deep freeze that can hold items for an inordinately long time. Our country is also a tropical country and so if we stack up too much the product would get stale. As there is no facility to store too much I keep anything within limits. If it si amtter of sarees[our Indian clothing] I indulge. This won't get stale.

If you have Ben & Jerry's ice cream...try Cherry Garcia. It is to die for! I would have a hard time hiding 24 tubs of ice cream...I guess I would just try to eat it all. Yo do realize that even if ice cream could not jump..that it would talk and call you to get more. Ice cream is a powerful substance. BTW____ enjoy

That has been recommended by many, I really must try Ben & Jerry's so I compare it, just for the experience I hasten to add ;0) I didn't really get 24 tubs, honest! I know it wants me, it reaches out to me and says Wolfie I want you, come and get me, eat me. Bon appetite indeed. And why does it go so fast? Maybe there is a leak at the bottom of the tub, hmmmmm!

Hi wolfie. I like he Haagen Daz too. I normally get the little mini ones for my youngest son whether or not they are on sale. He just loves their chocolate ice cream! In my naughtiness I might just eat one of his, though I sometimes get my own. I love the coffee flavored ones. They're delicious! Yuuuummy! How can something that tastes so good be so bad? I do try to limit myself to no more than one of the mini's and only occasionally. It's a good thing I don't get the bigger tubs of it, or I'd really be in trouble! Happy mylotting!

Yes I think the size of the tubs were designed small for a reason! I do find the chocolate one a bit too sickly for my palate but the strawberry cheesecake more than makes up for it, yummmmmmmmmy!

I am very naughty I love that Strawberry Cheesecake flavor too but the most recent one that has stolen my heart is the blueberry cream cheesecake!! I see it and my heart just melts I don't remember it's a naughty indulgance until I get it home. I stash it..but not because I'm hiding what I did..lol..it's because I want it all to myself.

I don't like blueberries so I wouldn't like that one I have to admit. Nothing wrong with wanting it all to yourself, I feel guilty when I see an empty tub and I can't blame anyone else for it but me!

wolfie's going to turn into a tub of ice-cream if he's not careful. anyway i suppose crisps count as naughty items and i've been known to buy those massive multi-packs when reduced- i have also stockpiled cheese (you do need at least 6 different kinds in your fridge).

Hi wolfie, :) U r so much like me. :) I love icecreams and pastries. I face the same problem everytime I go to bakery, which is less than 100 steps away from my building. So u know who is happy to c me around. :D And Strawberry Cheesecake flavor is my favorite too. But we dont get Haagen Daz here. As long as it is ice cream that we both are after. :) I do buy. Luckily I dont have to bluff my way. :) Everybody knows and that is what they give me as well whenever they drop in at my place. :) Of course I am fat. But the way I look at it. Who knows tommorrow a guy whom I have never known will blow me into pieces. I will be no more! So why not enjoy everyday as if it is the last day. And of course I might get sick. But I think it is better to get sick after having enjoyed, and quit fast, rather than look sickly for the rest of the life! :)

I am sorry you don't get Haagen Daz, but you probably have ice cream which is yummy and utterly delicious that we are not fortunate to have! Food is to enjoy and indulge and you are right we live each day as our last, and don't take the future for granted.

Hi there wolfie34 I love cheesecake, end of!! I am not so struck on chocolate ones because they are quite sickly but prefer the fruit ones as they taste fresher. If I fancy a treat then I will buy it, no matter if it is on offer or not! If it is on offer then it's a bargain!! I am very naughty aren't I? hehehe I have no one to answer to so yeah I would stock up if I wanted to!

Ice cream is a terrible weakness for me, Ben & jerrys is my favourite, especially Phish Food and Cherry Garcia. At the moment I don't have a freezer which is probably lucky as Tesco have had a half price offer on! It's tempting to stockpile but it's so dangerous - the more I have the more I will eat. I wanted a chocolate bar the other day and they were 3 for £1 so I though that was a good deal. But I ended up eating all 3 when 1 would have sufficed - my poor waistline!!
