I have a nice car and want too keep it that way. I have rules that apply to being in my car. There is to be no smoking or drinking in the car. Smoking can stink up the car, make it smell bad, and cause burn holes. These are things I do not tolerate. I do not allow drinking or eating because garbage and food stains are not attractive in a car. I want my cars to be clean and smell nice. That is a must for a car. I love to keep my car neat and clean.

My car is an absolute disaster. I cannot keep it clean no matter what I do. My kids have toys and stuff all over. I do not mind eating and drinking too much. Smoking is a definite nono though. I hate smoking and my allergies cannot tolerate it.

I do maintain a clean car but I do not hinder my guests on doing what they want to do such as eating, drinking or even smoking. I just make it clear to them that I won't restrict them from doing what they want to do as long as they clean their mess or they throw their litters in its proper place.

i hate smoking and drinking. so it is a big no no for me. not even close friends . anyways, i only make real close friends with those people who don't drink and smoke and so i don't think i will have that kind of problem of reminding them not to smoke or drinking.

I use my car for small trips only. The rest I do by Metro if it´s in the city or by bus as it´s cheaper for one person to use buses. But when my husband was alive and we went out of town, he stopped the car when I wanted to smoke, we smoked at the roadside and a while later entered again. Until last year I smoked 2 packs a day but did not smoke in the car, in my room, in the bathroom or the kitchen. As for eating, I guess we never ate much inside the car. And we are not acostumed to soft drinks. The most was a soda.

we sometimes eat and drink (water) in the car, that when we are tight of time and had to feed ourselves because of hunger. when we arrive home, we allow it to air, opening windows and the little smell goes out. the food that we eat don't smell too much. smoking is absolutely a "no". my son who drives the car had been instructed against it ... he does not smoke and his friends might. there is never an instance that i smelled smoke though. i am now certain they don't all smoke.

My friends are allowed to drink in my car, but only out of a bottle...not a cup or a can, unless it's one of those McDonalds cups with the straw in the top. I have a thing about not liking soft drinks because if those spill they get SERIOUSLY sticky and attract all sorts of vermin, but I try to be tolerant. Eating is alright, unless it's something that's extra crumbly, then I just tell them not to. Smoking is a definite no-no. I hate the habit and I damn well am not going to have smoke stinking up my car giving me cancer due to second-hand smoke. xP

It all depends on the person. If they are a clean person and will pay attention to not makind a mess with what they are doing, then I may let them eat, drink or smoke in my car. I am very picky though.

I think drinking and eating in the car is OK. But smoking is bad because all of you are in the car. The smell will be terrible bad especially to the one who don't smoke at all. Since they are my friends, I can say no to them. I love China

Since I don't pay much attention to these kind of stuff, I don't have special rules to my friends either. Of course, my friends always pay much attention to it. I don't need to worry about it.

I think that whatever you do or don't want in your own car should be acceptable by those riding in it. I don't like food in my car because people have been known to make a mess in it. I have drinks in there and that hasn't been a problem. I personally smoke and I don't mind that others do, but their window has to be down. I agree that having nice things is great and I think anyone that has rules for their car it should be perfectly acceptable for others to follow them.

Hi tuckersheri I don't mind if people have drinks in my car especially if its a drink that has a lid. I will not tolerate people smoking in my car. I don't smoke and the smell of smoke gives me a headache so I prefer not to have it around me. I don't really like for people to eat in my car but if we are going to be on the road for a long time I allow people to eat

I know that in my car i do not allow smoking because it is way too difficult to get the smell out. I allow the adults to have drinks but I am a little hesistant on letting small children have drinks. I would rather have no food in my car, but the reality is that is usually my only time to eat (when I travel to and from my next stop). I trust myself and very few others. I have worked hard for my car and I want it to remain nice and prizeworthy but sometimes "Life" makes me adjust and bend my rules a little bit. But let me just say this, you must be able to set down your rules and actually enforce them. Especially if your interior is tan or light, like mine. It is ultimately what you feel is best for your car that you purchased. Only you can determine hopw it will look n 5 years:0)

I let them eat and drink as long as they keep their seats clean and keep their trash, No smoking! My family loves to eat so we always eat inside the car. So I make sure that we have plastic or paper bags inside the car.

If I had a car I would because that's what I would like to do in anybody's car. A car is a place you travel in and people are entitled to eat, smoke and drink while they travel. I hate an irate driver telling me to stop smoking or stop eating or drinking. I'd rather walk if that's the case.

Personally, I don't like someone eating, drinking, and smoking inside my car. But then there are times that you can't stop those things to happen. There are people whom you cannot just tell not to do all those things. It's like you want to yell at them but you can't do anything because you just can't merely ask them not to.

I'm a poor college student so I drive a hoopty haha Typical on car rides my friends wont even get in my car :) I drive theirs a lot expsecally on long car rides. I don't mind if people eat or drink but I don't like people smoking around me sicne I quit last year. It's just not something I like around and it gives me the worst head ache. On that note I typically won't ride in the car with someone who smokes, if they chain smoke then its really bad. Gross. Even if I had a new car I don't think I would mind. Cars are meant to be lived in not preserved for the next speices. My neice and nephew have to eat in the car sometimes on long trips so I would never deprive people from it. I do however make them clean up their messed. On road trips or with friends you should do what my sister in law does (she hates stains too) she always has extra towels in her car and seriously makes people sit on them and put the on the floor if they are eating in her car.
