Blogger or WordPress?

I have around 15 blogs on Blogger which is by far my favorite. Blogger is easy to use, edit, and add whatever you want actually. Recently, I played around with WordPress, to start a blog for my writers group. I'm getting the hang of it but it doesn't allow you half the things Blogger lets you do. For example, I cannot post links to our books on Amazon, I can't put adds on WordPress and apparently it won't allow PayPal either. Am I missing something or do we have to upgrade. In that case I still choose Blogger who'll let you do that and more for FREE. What's your preference and why? Blogger or WordPress?

Wow, how do you ever maintain 15 blogs? Do you update them all the time, or just let them be. As an internet user, my main preference would be blogger as well, and I have around 5 blogs or so, but only having 2 on display. I still feel the other 2 blogs need some work. And all of them are on blogger. I think blogger is one of the most awesome free blog ever and I'm going to continue using them. The widgets are awesome as well. I've dabbled in Wordpress before, in fact created one with them. But I don't like the too professional layout, and you can't add certain widgets. I do know of people whom swear by Wordpress, but it's not my cup of tea. So I'm with team Blogger, heh..

You have to get a good following before your blog can earn. There's a lot of "tricks" to get your blog search engine optimized. A little bit of elbow grease and you can do it.

I prefer Wordpress if i'm going to host my own site and have my own domain. It's a lot easier to customize and all the plug-ins are so easy to find. What i actually disliked with the free wordpress account is the fact that you are so limited to what you can do, you can't even make a way to use some scripts, plugins and monetization is a real pain. So if it's free blog platform, i can say with no qualms, I would choose blogger over wordpress.

Yes, apparently if you have your own domain, Wordpress seems to be the choice. For the free platform, Blogger is more than enough.

I prefer Blogger over WordPress simply because of the flexibility in Blogger. To milk the most out of WordPress, you would have to have your own domain. My opinion.

That's what I've learned from this discussion. You actually have to have your own domain to get the best of WordPress. Guess I'll stick with Blogger.

I have not used either. I do have the beginnings of one blog on blogspot.com. I keep thinking I need to learn more about it. Do you earn with those blogs? That would be great.

blogspot is actually Blogger. And yes, you can earn money with your blog. It will take hard work on your part though. If you have a following, that's a good start. Send me your blog link. I'd love to read it. Is it a cooking blog?

I have done a little research in the past to start a blog or two. I ended up choosing Blogger as well for the simplicity of it. How ever I have not gotten any farther then a starting title for my blogs. I guess I don't have much to say or either I am not sure I am comfortable with sharing my thoughts with the world. Or maybe I just am afraid it won't be interesting enough for anyone to read. I keep telling myself this week I am going to start my blog. I am not sure why I don't do it as it is something I would really like to do. You have 15 blogs! What on earth do you write about?

Oh, I would encourage you to start blogging. I have fifteen blogs but they are not all mine. I blog for my Dad who just likes to put all his sermon notes in one place. My mom also wanted me to blog her life story. She was a POW in WWII. I have a cooking blog, an online money making blog and I also blog for a company called My I Clouds. Well I could go on. Anyhow, hope you start blogging soon.

Blogger is more suitable for the newbies and it allow html. However, wordpress have many great design template and plugin which can optimize the blog better. Of course, the major problem from wordpress is that they not allowed HTML unless you are using paid wordpress. Therefore, if you want to use wordpress, suggest to get your own domain and hosting.

There are thousands and thousands of blogger templates. I once spent a few hours looking through some of them and never settled on one. Finally, I just had to choose. But sometimes I change templates when I get bored of one.

Awww, LOL, that's so sad. But I agree, I don't want to learn Wordpress either. It's been a big pain so far. Now I'm finding out to get all the things I need on a blog I have to pay for it. Therefore, I will stick to blogger where I can get it all for free.

Me too. Love Blogger. I'm kind of stuck on Wordpress because that's what our writers group voted on. I might be able to change their minds since Wordpress won't let us use links to their books on Amazon etc. What would be the point for them if we can't post their book.

Wow, 15?! I think Blogger is the better for those who doesn't/can't spend a lot of money on blogs. There are a lot of gadgets, and now a template designer, it seems like Blogger never leave us alone.
