well, this is not a good thing as far as i'm concerned but what u will do for your kids is unbelievable.
.mY SON & FIS FAMILY HAVE SOLD THEIR HOUSE, THAT'S A GOOD THING.
. Bad thing they don't have anything to do w/my grand dogs, 2 big ol' labs. He ask me yesterday if he could bring them here till they can buy another house & get situated.
. Of course i said yes, what could i say but i'm not happy about it but u know how it goes w/your kids. I'm sure my neighbors are going to be soooo happy w/me & those barking dogs. I may be looking for a new home myself. He wants to give one of them away which they didn't need to start with. my dil is a pushover for animals & worked in a vet's office fow awhile. that wasn't a good thing either, anybody want a black lab???? please, pretty please say yes. em

I'm afraid u are right. I never saw a puppy that didn't like to chew on everything. They can be sweet but a nuisance to.

well, I would suggest my sister's ex "friend" but so far her track record leaves something to be desired - my sis still has her black lab so she doesn't need one, tho poor old Rascal is getting quite old.
I'm not sure where Martin is, by my sis is in Knoxville...

Oh Hell! Where are ya? If you don't live too far from me, maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle. I LOVE Labs and so badly want one again. Is he/she fixed already? I hope so! Screw hubby! I want a Lab again! I live in IL about an hour south of Chicago and about 10min. from IN state line.

No chance we can meet somewhere in the middle? He'll have a great home here with a creek out back to have fun in and a brother to rough and tumble with. My old Lab just loved pulling all the rocks outta the creek and depositing them in the yard for me to mow over. Whatever happened to dogs fetching sticks? lol

Hi Aunty, kind of you to offer but I'm terrified of dogs. Greeks don't keep dogs as pets, I've no idea why they keep them really, except to chain up outside all night with their incessant barking. No, I'm wrong, my Athenian neigbhours have a pet poodle type thing called Willie which they bring out on holidays, it yaps incessantly and takes every opportunity it can to bite me, nasty thing.

I really didn't offer
. my son ask & i didn't know anything to do but say yes. one of these days hugo will pull something like that w/u.
. i am not araid of dogs . We always had a dog when i was a child on up. I have one now but she will be the last one. My son said they would come by & feed them etc. & he knows i can't take care of them so he will have to. I'm not looking forward to them being here i'll be honest w/u. Thanks for your response.

Aunty, I meant thank you but no thanks for your offer of a black lab.
I should imagine its actually a real burden to have visitors of the dog variety with feeding, walking and barking. My friend has been looking after 3 dogs this summer and the neigbours really complained about the noise, but then again they are really small and they always seem to make more noise.
Hope that your son takes them out of your way before too long.

OMG, I'd take that dog in a micro second for my Galeena but now that I'm in a fenced yard, I cannot:(
But, since I"ve been out of whack with moving to OK and our friend with a heart attack, I'm behind on mylot news and yours too I'm afraid.
That is so embarrassing for me---
You'll be fine with the dogs I'm sure since you are good with CAsy and people.
I got lots of faith in you:)
Kids, huh? but you gotta love 'em.

Glad you had a good nite with the dogs.
Called ins. man and told him to come to this house and I'd pay him and sign the papers--he was not happy, but why should I drive and pay him and sign my name a few times when he's the one making the commission??
That is done for another year!!! Only been out of ins. on this house since the second.
And,waiting for Mike to call and we are all going to eat lunch in Elgin today:)
He's on his meter reading route and my ice maker quit---and just called him on his cell and we are going to a cafe in a little bit !!!
Then, it's off to feed Bud's animals and back to gro. store for a couple of bags of ice and home.
Glad the yard guests are doing ok and so are you I guess, right? LOL
Hugs,

As much, dear Jo...as I would like to lighten your Labrador load....I must deny, or like you, I think I would be looking for a new neighborhood! And I kinda like the old homestead! All my younger years...big dogs, were the only dogs, but in my waning years, I have opted for smaller, less intrusive animals to share my home with me! And all my animals are indoor/outdoor friends! Nothing like a great big Lab/Collie/Shepherd/Dobie..whatever, entering the domain, rain-soaked....a SHAKE, from them, and you are washing everything in that room....or the Shop Vac to suck the LAKE up off the shore...LOL! I am quite handy at making my own MESS!
Have a truly sparkling day...hope you are MUCH better...LUV & HUGS!

Oh I love Labs. They are great family dogs. Unfortunately where I live we can not have pets. I do miss having a dog. Well, I do know what it is like to do whatever we can to help our kids out. Hopefully for your sake they will find a new home soon or maybe you will get an offer for the extra dog. In the meantime, I think you should warn your neighbors of the new additions to the neighborhood. Hopefully they are animal lovers.

Ack! I've had to "dog sit" before. It was extra work, of course, and took some getting used to, but once I did, it all worked fine. I'd take one of the labs, but...no pets allowed in my apartment! Whew lol.
Good luck!2 people like this

I hope you can find a new home for one of the dogs. We just got us a new puppy. A yorkie. I am a pushover when it comes to dogs. I will not take in another persons dog though. I get too attached to them and do not want to give them back. One dog is plenty for us too.

Well I did the same for my son..while they looked for a house and rented an apartment so I had Britt for four months....but she is a little pug.....so that wasn't bad. The only really bad thing is when they moved into their house that night they came and got her...she didn't even look back! LOL...my son poked his nose in the door and called her name and she was gone....didn't even give Grandma a goodbye kiss! I do get to see her often though....you are right.....what we don't do for our kids! LOL.....no lab here though...sorry!

wow! Labs are big hefty dogs and they like a lot of exercise. My sister used to have 3 and they had to go for walks twice a day in the woods and then my BIL would take them out first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Yep they are good watch dogs and bark at any noise! You will have to explain to your neighbours that it is only temporary. Of course yo could not say 'NO". I would have said yes too!

They had a big fenced in area at his house & he's planning to put them in one of those bought things that are not too big so i know they want be happy here. There is no way i could walk them, can't even walk my own dog. Wish my yard was fenced in but it's not. Hope they find a house they want real quick for more reasons than one, lol. Thanks for responding. Have a good night, cynthi. hugs.

Thanks kathy, I was basically kidding but they have been trying to get rid of one of them. They don't need the expense of feeding the two in my opinion but that's none of my buisness. They also have an inside dog. I just hope they want be here long. I really don't want them bothering anybody. Have a good one.
