Good news/bad news

This is to inform my friends that Jool has gone to a new home. Just this evening, her new mommy, who works at my dentist's office, came and got her. She won't keep the name Jool, it'll be Kiki, but it'll be a GREAT home. Instead of being the little one, she's got a new playmate who's a week younger named Koko. This lady has quite a few cats, but she's a great cat mommy. She's considering taking Frankie off our hands too, because she hasn't had a Siamese in a long time and she wants one. So, the good news is that we are down one cat, but its sad because she's such a sweet baby and we'll miss her. (Can you hear the roomie sobbing about it?) 28 cats, and as soon as those 3 feral kittens are fixed (and its getting time to do it) they get to go out to the horse barn and catch mice! That's my news, you have any?

That's wonderful! I always feel better about animals going to new homes when they have a playmate waiting for them. I wish I could afford to get Sherlock a playmate. I want to go down to the pound and pick out a dog so badly. But maybe someday. I'd like to rescue big dogs too, not just little ones like Sherlock (Sherlock wasn't from the pound, he was from a litter from a friend of a friend). So I'd probably need to live in a place with a yard. My apartment complex won't let us have pets that weigh more than 20 pounds.

well, the lady has about 15 cats, but the rest are all grown, just the one kitten, now, we had Rygel to help play with the kitten, and then Jool played with the feral kittens too

You have 28 cats??? I'm glad Jool has a nice safe new home. I'd like to get my feral adult fixed but shots and such every year get to be enough of a cost right now.

the 3 feral kittens are getting fixed now, and then they will go to the horse barn, and we'll be BACK down to 25... but 5 are really looking for homes

And that is EXACTLY why all my cats get fixed - see, 48 fewer cats in the world - so - 48 fewer chances of one of them NOT getting fixed.

I am going to take a whole weekend off.Big news for me. Actually will be three days. I am sorry you will miss your baby cat Jool. Sorry, but when I see her name, I think "Drool" which my old cat still does in spite of antibiotics for an ulcer on his tongue and a tooth cleaning.

well, its said "Jewel" and she was a precious little gem of a kitten, but we just can't keep them all - inspite of the roomie crying as she went

yeah, we miss the little vampire, but she's someplace where she'll get more attention than she could get here - only half the cats after all - and the lady that got her actually has about the same number of inside feral cats so its actually less...

Hi Elic, Wow!!! 28 cats??? how do you look after them? I have tow cats and one gets really stropy if I give too much attention to the other one, they just like little children and if I go away for a few days, they sulks, but 28 cats? you are brillant, so that is why I call you St Elic of the Cats, lol! honestly, with the 3 feral kittens and the 3 feral adults I don't have to be constantly on top (or under them as the case may be) of them. One of the feral adults does want pets, but since he wants them the same time about 6 others are trying to get some attention, I'm making like an octopus to pet them all. Actually sometimes I get Timus licking and his licking will satisfy another cat, Gizmo being one of them, and so I can be petting 2 and getting a 3rd as a bonus!

First of all I didn't think you were talking about cats until I read your whole posting and secondly, my father's nickname was Kiki. I'll never know where dad got his nickname but that it was and he carried it until he passed away. So I guess your now long gone kitty is gone with my dad's name too !

Ha! Well, you know me; if I don't get ventilated by a cat every so often, I start to feel deprived! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

Awwww I'm sorry she had to go live somewhere else. However like many others said here it's awesome that you've found her a great home where she will have plenty of play mates and lots of love. Hugs to you and roomie, maybe her new mommy will let you guys visit once in awhile so it won't be so sad to let her go :)
