Is that a big dog?

I went to the vet this morning (Saturday) because Sassy has... well, a problem with her stools - okay? And I was parking and there was a guy in the lot getting his little dog out of his car and just STARING at me/my car. I get out, go around and get Sassy and then go inside. The guy looks at me hauling in the cat carrier as he opens the door for me. "Do you have a big dog in your car? Does he look like a giraffe?" "I have a giraffe in my car," I replied. "I thought it was a dog with his ears cut to make him look like a giraffe," he said. "Nope, its a giraffe," I said. "Eight dollars at a garage sale." Now, I've been driving around with it in my back seat because right now I can't find a safe place to put it, but I will... So, do you have anything in your car that excites comment?

My dog Gus has problems with blood in his stool and the doc can't find anything wrong. What turned out wrong with Sassy? That's cool about your giraffe. Leave it there, entertain little kids riding past! I don't really have anything unusual in my car except a hat pin stuck in my front driver's seat. I found it on the ground and it was pretty so I picked it up and never found a home for it.

Sassy is 18 or so yrs old, has nearly fluid stools and can't find the cat litter to save her life - and she better start! My roomie's 2nd great nephew wanted to play with him when he saw it, so I said, he could play with it INSIDE the house...

its tall, almost to the ceiling standing on the back seat - you can see the head when you can see thru the windows - honestly I'm surprised I haven't had more people ask about the stuffed animal

When I had the bottle babies, the Friday before they got relegated to the cat carrier, while I still had them in the laundry basket, the biggest one climbed out. I was holding him while I was stopped at a traffic light before my house and the lady next to me saw him and got all excited. Gee, those babies are 2 yrs old now, I bet Ari is HUGE!

hi ElicBxn he he you got a chuckle out of me and reminded me of a friend of my husband's who wanted to use the lane for cars with more people in them, so he got two people sized women dummies and dressed them up in female clothes. well he got pulled over and the Chippy was not a bit happy to see the two dummies were real dummies. so the guy got a ticket to trying to fool a smart chippy, California high way patrolman.

I've actually seen one person in a car in the HOV lanes in Houston. They've tried to get HOV lanes here in Austin, but the MORONS in the legislature things that building bypassing toll roads is the way to go - did I mention they were morons? If he really wanted to fool the CHiP he should've set them up to look like they were putting on make up...

ROFL about setting them up to look like they were putting on make up! Now that would have been hilarious

It is funny you mentioned your little/big friend in the back seat of your car because I have one too. He is a large dog my daughter won at a raffle. You could go up and pick a prize and she picked this large stuffed dog that has no place in the house so he has been living in the back seat of my car for almost a year. I am quite used to him and I forget that it looks rather strange to other people. I always know if my husband has borrowed my car because the dog will be lying down on the seat out of sight instead of proudly sitting up for all to see!

No, not at this time. I used to have a large Geoffry Giraffe but finally made him into a donation. I have a lot of junk in my car, but nothing remarkable. I would be more surprised at a big dog with ears cut like a giraffe.

yeah, this thing is about 2 feet tall, maybe a tad more... I always wanted one of those Geoffry, but they were a bit too unreal for me, the realer the better... I would be too, sounds like a cruel thing to do - and I KNOW my vets know I wouldn't do anything like that...

LOL. that is funny. I do not have anything in any of my vehicles that would draw a comment like that or attention to it. I am glad he let you know what he kept looking at though LOL.

You've a homeless giraffe riding around in your Car? that's Funny! My car has only drawn attention from what's inside when I had my folding bike in back and I was either getting it out and unfolding it,or putting it back in again..

he maybe a homeless giraffe, but he's MY homeless giraffe well that's a paraphrase of what I said about Hobo when the vet wanted to put him to sleep because he was a stray cat with FIV... BEST cat EVER, I have a pix of him in my photos - say's "Wanted"

Can't say as I do, seeing as how I don't have a car. I don't even drive. My friend, though, always has all kinds of crap in her van. I talked her out of buying a console table she didn't need nor could afford simply by the fact that she already had a bunch of stuff in the van and wouldn't be able to fit it in there.

that sounds like my van, the roomie had to rearrange things so I could get the trap into the van yesterday morning to take the feral to the vet.

LOL that's quite funny! I myself don't have anything special in my car that gets any comments, but due to the fact that I am quite larger than the average person people always look anyways. They don't say much but I can almost tell what they're thinking by the expressions on their faces. Anyhow that's another discussion right LOL! One time though when we were moving from one house to the other I had my cat Tiggy perched on my shoulder as if he were a bird, and this guy pulled up next to us at a stop light,.. his dog started going nuts that was quite amusing until I felt the claws in my shoulder blade as Tiggy jumped in the back seat to hide

when I was much younger I didn't have a carrier and the former roomie used to hold the cats on the way to the vet - and Briar Rose would often sit on her shoulder... I hate to say what she did a few times, and it didn't involve claws....

EWWWWW! LOL sorry had to say that. Thanks for the BR. Also I'm sorry it's taken me so long to come and thank you I've been dealing with a whole bunch of stuff. That's a different discussion to come though LOL. I'm glad Tiggy didn't do anything on my shoulder. I would have seriously been upset then LOL.
