as I have to get ready for the meeting tonight of the UNRULY WOMEN. This is a group of ladies of all ages who meet and network and have great fun together. We meet every 2 months at a different restaurant/eating place.
It started maybe 18 months ago and at the third or fourth meeting we were asked to think of a name for the group.
Well, someone (I cannot remember who)
foolishly suggested the name of UNRULY WOMEN. Being a little inebriated, they then voted and I could not believe that anyone would agree to such a dreadful name! But they did.
Tonight we are meeting at a new eating place. We choose the menu in advance so we usually get a good deal with the prices.
We are from Jamaica, Barbados Guyana, Trinidad, U.K., Canada, USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Spain, Germany and Russia. No husbands or boyfriends are allowed!

Oh that is so sad! I will put your name for a vote tonight as an honorary member and when you come we can all get together and go on silly. I never act my age. tonight I'm going to be 27.

That definitely sounds like a lot of fun! Since having moved I haven't found any groups of women like this to go out with on a regular basis but I have made a few friends and we go out every once in a while to chat and have a good time!
So have fun at your "meeting" and enjoy your dinner!

Thank you Jen. I just love it because it is not ageist. I found that people of different generations mix a lot out here - they do not stick to their own age group and ths is good news for me as today I feel 27

Actually I do...the second tuesday of the month.....and then last night I went with a couple of different ones.....we don't meet regularily but like every month...month and a half.....first ones are stampers.....second set are scrappers! LOL...do I love my craft friends or what? Have a great time tonight!

I had a great time jill. Great time. It is good to meet with women friends and make new friends too. I met one lady last night and I know that we could become good friends

Sounds like such fun!
I really don't have a girls night out. To be honest I don't have any girlfriends. Plus I see so little of my hubby that I am not really fond of having a night out without him.
However about once a month or so as the mood strikes I will have a bingo night and bring my daughter, mother, and sister... no boys!

I love it because it is not ageist. I met a couple of young ladies who informed me that they were at school with my daughter. And then film producer and she was charming so it was good fun. I am going to email a picture of some of us. (The ones who could stand upright)

wow! sounds like you really are having fun 
among your groupmates. to think that you all came from different countries, all ladies and meet in one restaurant somewhere to do networking and the likes. good luck in your group and more power. haven't experience that yet in my entire life. good for you for you have all the time to do this. cheers.....

The reason why I love it is that it is not ageist. The older women can give the younger women advice and one young lady has got a job interview today. It also cuts across class which still heavily prevails out here - not colour but class. The women are are great fun and the name is just a joke. The food was great and we all enjoyed ourselves

Sounds like a great lil group! I have next to no friends other than some people I occasionally chat with at work or @ school but not someone I can call to discuss things regularily.
I hope you Unruly Women don't get to "unruly" that you gals get booted out of the restaurant! *LOL* j/k

No, we were not unruly and it was great to chat with so many women. The talk was great and the table was buzzing! You need a women friend though as women need women that they can trust just to let it all out occasionally.

That sounds like fun. I mostly go out with male friends as that is the gender I hand with the most.
I think the name is fun and spunky. It gives a tickle just by thought. It also conveys the idea that your group of women are a fun set of people who like to loosen up and have fun.
The girlfriends Id hang with are just not close enough but hopefully we'll get to do something similar soon.

Hey sweetie pie - Mylot has not been sending me any posts and so I missed this. Hope that you are doing o.k. what I love is that it is not ageist. From 18 to 80 and we have such fun together. If you were closer then I would invite you to the next meeting in early December. Blessings

Sounds like so much fun! I don’t belong to any groups like that and I wish I did! Perhaps I could start one...The only thing I do is have lunch with my girlfriend once a fortnight and it’s a great chat session but it is only the two of us...I used to go out to dinner with the playgroup mums on a regular basis but now that our kids are in school a lot of us have lost touch. I like the no men allowed policy! The Unruly Women is not so bad, there are worse names. Hope your night out was fun!

Thank you paula . It was great and I know that one young lady has got an interview today for a job. We ar sinking so badly intio recession out here. It was fun and the food was fabulous.

A friend and I used to meet up regularly when I lived in Arizona. We'd have coffee or dinner or such. I moved up here, she moved back to her home state but we still try to connect regularly online. I think it's wonderful to have a group of women you can get together with on a regular basis to discuss those issues that pertain to woman. Great group!

Hey Anora - it is such great fun. We laugh and chat and just enjoy ourselves but it is good for those who are now unemployed as they can get the if here is any job going in a particular company.

hi cynthiann, i never join in a party like you are going to. i just meet my frineds occasionally on weekends or holidays. they are my classmates or workmates, anyway we have known each other for a long time. but i think meeting a group of ladies from different place would be meaningful. have fun and enjoy your dinner

No, but I sure as heck wish I did! Since getting sick, my list have friends has been wittled down quite a bit. There's nothing like getting ill that lets one find out how many real friends they have. ; ) But that sounds so awesome! Tell me all about it, please.

I have never gone out with the girls like this in my adult years. I used to when I was younger though. I am too busy in my married and motherly life to have time to do it right now. I work seven days a week and too tired.

We meet on a week nght just once every two months. It is such fun and stress free. I also work 7 dys a week but I dio make time because it makes me happy. So wwish that you could do it.

hi cynthiann that sounds really wonderful, sort of like the R ed hat group I had read about a few years back. I wish I was in a group like that, but the only outlet I now have is my best friend Nelda who calls me every Wednesday or comes here to see me at this retirement center. she knows how much I do not want to be here but have to until my son get a job and accumulates some money so we c an get back into an apartment. I am safe here and have made a few friends. also I mylot and also journal so all is pretty well for me anyway.

I haven't done this in a long time. I used to go with a group of ladies from church out to eat once a month but for some reason, we just quit doing it. I guess money just got tight in these hard times. Anyway, we didn't have a name for ourselves. We just called it a "Ladies Night Out". I don't like the name "UNRULY WOMEN", either. Youall must get pretty wild sometimes for anybody to suggest this, lol
. I'm only kidding. It looks like somebody could think of a better name than this, though. Youall sound like youall are a pretty diverse group, seeing youall are from so many different countries. I imagine it gets very interesting, too. I hope youall had a very good time! Kathy.

Tonight I am going out with my girlfriends as well. We meet once a month and play dice, each time meeting at a different girl's house. It is great fun. We are all mothers of preschoolers (well, with the exception of my mother)so we get to talk and play and just enjoy ourselves without the kids present. It is the one time of the month that I feel like I can really just get away for a little while. I think it is a great benefit to have a group of friends to get together with.
