Do You Like Changing Your Avatar To Reflect A Holiday Theme?

Well the holidays are quickly zooming ahead...crap where did this year go to anyway? I've noticed a few MyLotters have changed their avatars to reflect a "Halloween" theme and thought, hey about time I did that. It's still my famous crystal ball gazing black cat avatar but with a Halloween twist and you can see it better on my profile how it came out. I remember doing a few other holiday themed avatars last year, especially for Christmas and New Year's but was surprised at myself that I've never done a Halloween one. So how about you? Do you change your avatar to reflect any holidays or just keep your avatar the same? How often do you change your avatar period?

I haven’t thought about it. I like to stick to the same one but I may change it, I’m not sure...I love Pyewacket with the witches hat, he’s so cute and so much like my Friday who is still with us by the way, still throwing up on a regular basis but eating plenty with a good quality of life...So far so good...If only I could figure out what to feed him that won’t cost me $30 a week like it is now...But that’s for another discussion...As far as my avatar goes I might look into a nice Christmas one!

I'm glad to hear Friday is doing okay or at least a little better and eating and as far as cost...my two spoiled brats (their mom..me..spoiled them) won't eat anything else but Fancy Feast which goes for .99-cents a small can....they won't eat anything else at least not the cheaper stuff which would save me money...but what is one to do? They are my "kids"

I know what you mean, my husband is annoyed at how much we've spent on Friday already but I don't feel I have a choice. As of now he is off his food a bit but not too bad...Fingers crossed...

I change mine about once in a "Blue Moon".. I am not really sure how often that would be translated in real time, but I usually don't even think to change it.. Since you have already put a bug in my ear, so to speak, I am going to try and change it right now.. Bring on the Holidays, I love them.. I decorate my house, so why not my avatar.. I will now have to go in search for a really good one.. I love black cats, my most favorite in the whole wide world cat was a beautiful shiny all black cat and she was the best pet that I have ever had.. Gotta go now and search for a Halloween avatar.. Have a great day.. Donna

I've always had cats and black ones ever since I was five...I now have my Pyewacket and to me he most definitely is my "magical" cat--oh and he's a spoiled brat to boot too

Hey pye! Your Halloween avatar looks great! I love the hat! Pyewacket looks great in it! Fits him perfectly! I would love to change my avatar, but I don't know how to photoshop! I only had mine changed for Christmas because Sconibear was nice enough to make me a "Christmas Opal"! I'm just not talented in that department! I have enough trouble just doing the simple stuff! I would love to learn how to do that stuff but I'm afraid I'm hopeless! You really did a great job!

I love to change my avatar. I find little pictures during my internet travels and save them to a special folder. Then, when I am in the mood, I browse the folder and pick one. I don't really have any Halloween avatars though. I love how your sweet PyeKitty has outfits for every conceivable holiday, season and general mood.

LOL--If I radically changed my avatar to something completely different I don't think people would recognize me which is why I keep my black cat one and just jazz it up for the holidays

As you have noticed, pye, I have changed my avatar once, from the innovative little green man (by myLot) to the current one! I know it is a simple task, when one has conquered it....but when my son is challenged at the computer...I stay away! It took him a long time to post this avatar, and the language whilst changing, ejected me to the great outdoors! So with that said, I truly admire you folks, NOT challenged like I am! And, NO, I will NOT attempt myself, and will have to come up with a great bribe to get my son to do it again! So, I guess, my answer would be...let sleeping dogs lie! As you can see, my reply is fraught with jealousy, as I don't have the "techno" to do it....and to be honest I am still a bit afraid of this thing! Cheers!

LOL--I can only imagine the language your son used...perhaps similar to mine when I get annoyed at myself in what I'm doing in front of the computer...was the language he used similar to what would make a truck driver blush?

You betcha, pye...and my ears are still ringing! Offish language is NOT normally in his demeanour...but let the computer get him upset...and there's a blue streak! Cheers!

Yup! I sure do!! I found this picture and just had to have it!! Even though it doesn't have any dogs, it's still really cute! The only problem I'm having with it is, it's suppose to be animated but it's not working that way and I don't know how to get it to work. Do you know how? Here's the link where I got it from, just in case you know how to make it work, otherwise, it'll stay at a stand still. BTW, I LOVE yours!! How cool!! http://media.photobucket.com/image/halloween/loveej/Halloween/00146.gif?o=66

Have you tried just copying the HTML code for that picture? Then when you upload it for here hit the browse button, and paste in the code??? If the HTML code doesn't work maybe the direct link one?? That's the only way I can think of doing that

I don't know if I could do it from my angle of it...okay go to that page that you gave me...to the left you'll see the words "Share This Image"---then you'll see a whole bunch of codes..one says HTML. Highlight the entire code, copy, then zap over here and paste the code into that area to change avatars, then save. If the HTML doesn't work, try the IMG code--or maybe the direct link???

I don't know about holiday themes, but speaking of avatar, I've always been fascinated with the moving avatar. Those cute animations whereby you can see the image moving, laughing and all that. If there is a site where I could do that, anyone... that will be perfect. I think an avatar change once in awhile is a great way to keep the fun in the lot.

My avatar is me, and it's how people recognise me here. While I might like to change it slightly to reflect holidays, I wouldn't know how to go about it, so I'll just stick with what I know. Boring, yes, but less stressful for a technical thickie like me!

It's weird in a way, I've never thought to use my photo as an avatar...I've always have had this black kitty one--seems to fit for my user name which is the name of my cat

I went with the photo because I see so many comments about how people can hide behind an internet user name. Yes, I know I could use any photo, and I could be a 6' marine with bulging biceps and a shaved head, but I know it's me, and that's the main thing. Your avatar is personal to you, and that's great as well. It just combats the perception that the internet is anonymous, don't you think?

I wanted to have a holiday avatar, but I didn't want to have to change them for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then the new year. So I searched for a multi-holiday avatar. I'm pretty happy with this one. I guess I could leave it up year round as it also covers Easter and the 4th of July...

Black cat and no Halloween theme? Shames, Pye. Just kidding. I love your halloween cat! I'm lazy when it comes to changing the aviator. Ok I'm lying. I'm dumb. It took me so so long to get the one I have up here and I really don't know how I did it...had tons of help from my daughter. Oh ok...I'm still sorta lying. She did all of it except take the original picture. Your aviator is cool because you can change the theme and still be recognized. I would not know how to begin to halloween up mine. I'm thinking if I completely changed it that no one would recognize me. Maybe not even me.

I have never changed my avatar till now. I use an arrow pointing upwards as my avatar. My avatars shows confidence and aim at high. It gives me a lot of confidence and high aim when I see the avatar. I am thinking about changing my avatar when it is Christmas time. I will replace the avatar by image of a Christmas father.
