I am not a Christian but I have Christian friends and neighbours. But for children's sake I was keeping crib at home and was buying Christmas cookies and cake. My neighbours invite us and they also keep crib (small dolls depicting Jesus birth in a cattle shed) and Christmas tree with full of glittering stars, santa clause dolls, colour crape paper flowers and many. They give cookies that are specially made for Christmas and Christmas cake. They will have a beautiful big Star light in front of their house.

Hello Buchi-bulla. It is not our traditional festival as to Christmas, but still we celebrate it on the eve or Christmas Day in our school because our students like it and our school let them enjoy themselves in the classrooms. Ways of celebrating it may vary like watching TV, DVD, playing games, singing songs, dancing and some others they like. The students always get a lot of snacks they like and everyone shares them. It is some fun though. Merry Christmas to you ahead of time, my dear friend.

Christmas?!? I'm still thinking about halloween and thanksgiving! You could say that I am a late shopper. I usually begin my Christmas shopping at the beginning of december. That is not that late to me, but two months is way to early. I don't understand why some people like to go shop and prepare so far away from the actual date.

If you shop early, you can avoid crowd. You can plan leisurely and do the shopping in a relaxed way. You can window shop first, then decide and buy gifts. You will not have last minute tension. Anyway it is individual's preference. Merry Christmas. Your avatar image is very good, beautiful pink Rose.

Hi, Buchi_bulla! Yeah, Christmas is just around the corner and soon we will feel the magical of Christmas. I am so excited, but I haven't shop anything yet because money is a bit tight at the moment. So, I will wait until middle of November or early December before I start shopping, after all, the word 'last minute' is always in my dictionary of life! However, I will list down all the things I want to do or buy. Normally, my family and I will use the same decorations every year except that we sometimes add just a few new items because they are still in good conditions and we only put up the Christmas tree once in every year, right?!

There is thrill in last minute running. After finishing the purchase, a big relief will come to us and that is great.

I prefer to do my shopping at the last minute, that way I can be sure that the recipient will not have already bought the item I plan to ge for them. This is somewhat of a problem with my family. We tend to have enough discriminatory spending money to go buy what we may be wanting at the time, under the $100 mark of course. We generally make a list of things we want, and agree not to buy ourselves and give a copy to those who will be buying for us, it is up to you to make sure that no one else gets the same thing for them.

This is careful buying. No repitition will be there and we will get all useful things for the house. But some people may think bad that we have given a list.

I have made myself a spreadsheet of every person I need to buy for, how much I want to spend, and gift ideas, along with the dates I order the gifts, and the dates they arrived. I have a lot of people to buy for, so that is the best way to keep organized, and maintain my budget, while making sure that everyone gets something nice. I've been ordering on line this year, so as to stay out of the malls.

Hi Buchi, I'm not a christian so I don't celebrate Christmas. But I love Christmas festival. I'm sure I will attend the Christmas eve party if receiving any invitation. Definitely I will buy some appropriate Christmas gifts before attending the gathering. I live in a multiracial country so Christmas is included in our public holiday list. Grand on sales are available on all the hypermarket here. it's the best shopping moment for purchasing high quality stuffs with lower price. I usually would like to hang around the market to hunt for stuffs which are fine and inexpensive It's nice as well to have fun browsing in the shopping mall with wonderful decoration that full of Christmas atmosphere. Yeah, we can see Santa Clause, Christmas tree and other attractive decorations as well as the playing on air Christmas songs. All these boost the Christmas atmosphere high and cheerful Happy posting!

Very true. Good bargains are put in the shops for Christmas. We can buy required items at a lower price. It is nice to see Christmas decorations as well.

I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet, and won't start until around December 11th. This is because I finish university for the holidays then, and will have more time than I would have if I tried to do anything in University time. Plus, I have a lot of assignments and the like to hand into university. The only thing that I think I will get before Christmas is cards and wrapping paper, as that often runs out if you leave it to near to the big day, and I wouldn't want to be that unorganised!

This is my first Christmas after marriage. So, I need to get gifts for my family and my husband's family this time. I have been thinking for a long time and got ideas from my friends and family members and finally decided on the gifts. I made a budget and found out that it will take my one month salary to buy all the gifts. Also, we need to visit around 20 people, all my relatives to get their blessings since this is the first Christmas after wedding. We need to go everywhere with cake and a gift.

I have ideas, but not shopping yet. Since my kids are older (the youngest is 15) I'm doing a lot of my shopping at the pawn shops! They want the bigger, more expensive things, so to save money that's how I'm doing it. Also, I'm doing gift cards. I'll buy them some little things too. My kids, my kids significant others and my grand children are the only ones I buy for, oh, and for my husband :) I don't worry about the others :)

That is why I made this discussion to remind you all. This is a wake up call like thing for Christmas purchase. Plan well with two months ahead and make this Christmas a grand celebration in your house and in your locality. After all Christmas comes once in a year and make best of it. Happy and Merry Christmas friend.

One way you are right. As and when Christmas is nearing, new products will flood the market and you will have good range to select. But there will be lot of crowd and you have to push around to buy things. Enjoy well for this Christmas. Happy and Merry Christmas to you and your girlfriend.

Actually I never buy gifts, anymore I round everyone up pay for dinner somewhere. I get tired of people not liking what they want or too lazy or forgetful to use gift cards. So I started taking them to dinner no complaints, an every gets to pick what they want to eat, an I have been doing it for 5 years now.

Hai this is really cool. Very good idea. In fact you can see people enjoy eating the stuff and what more best satisfaction one can have? They will remember this dinner always, whenever they eat that stuff or whenever they pass through that place.

I am so far behing on my Christmas shopping this year its sad! This time last year I was done and wrapped. Now this year I have a few things bought but have a lot to go! I do know what I am getting for every one. My 8 year old daughter is getting a jewlery box and I am going to fill it with neat "kid" jewlery. And one special necklace with a charm holder. So that I can continue buying her charms. My 12 year old son is getting well I'm not really sure about him. He's a hard one to shop for cause hes a little too old for toys but a little young for adult stuff. He's in that "tween" stage. I have a few ideas like video games or bored games but I'd like to get him a theme of things too. My 2 year old is getting a barbie house and all the stuff to go with it. I'm looking forward to seeing her face!

So your initial shopping started. Happy thing is this the moment we start our first Christmas purchase, the feeling of Christmas already enters our house and that will be there till one week after the Christmas as we will be opening our gifts and talk about it, eat Christmas cake, cookies etc. and then wait for next Christmas starts.

Hi {{Buchi-bulla}}; I know Christmas is fast approaching isn't it? I am anxious to decorate here in my new residence ( I moved here back in March) of this out of that other hideous place that I was in...BLEH!! There won't be any shopping for gifts though only for my Father and he is so hard to please nothing suits him; My nieces are all old enough and working and have spouses so they are on their own to get themselves presents being on limited income via disability I just don't have a dime to spare for them and haven't had for years; For years I would wrap up different items that belonged to my Mother and give those to them for Christmas but all that sort of stuff is gone now too; but yes I am anxious to start my Christmas decorating here I have this huge 7 1/2 foot beautiful tree that looks so realistic it is just gorgeous when I get it decorated; one of the neighborhood girls is anxious to help me decorate it too (G)!! I have other wreaths I hang and beautiful poinsettia's ( fake ones) that I set out and the whole place just looks very pretty I think; I hope your Christmas is a joyous one dear friend; Love & hugs to you

Vav a Christmas Tree with 7 1/2 foot height is a wonderful thing to have and you can decorate it very well in the possible manner. Crape papers, glittering stars, some lighting arrangement, it will be awesome to look at. I feel now it is the turn of your nieces to give presents to you. You have done enough. Through this Mylot, I cannot send gift. I am sending my hugs and kisses to you and wish you and your Father a Happy and Merry Christmas.
