Do you have your Christmas gift list all made out? I know, I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet!!! But a lot of people start thinking Christmas early. So for them I am asking. What things do you plan to give and to whom this year? Maybe someone who reads this wil be able to get some great ideas for Christmas. Here are some things that I would like to give. Animal Monopoly (cat, dog bug) For my youngest son Weather related games for my middle son Still not sure about my oldest son My best friend, I will probably give her some jewelry. Now what will you be giving. Maybe i can find some thing nice for oldest son in this discussion.

Sure join my family and your welcome to come...lol I just figured no one likes what they get and always wanna return things, so this way no one complains and overall much cheaper.

I dont make lists of things I plan to buy because I dont really plan. I just buy things throughout the year as I see them. I like to buy things that will make people smile or have some particular significance & a few "useful" presents. When my son was at University I wrapped up an assortment of food items - some basics like beans and soup and other more 'luxurious' items that he would not have bought for himself. I have a book and an embroidered cushion for my friend. For close family, I usually try to get something from each of these categories: eating/watching/listening/wearing/playing/reading/toiletries/silliness Sorry, no suggestions for your oldest son.

Its just a fun little book about cats since she loves them. I got my son a book about Evil Penguins; my husband the book of the TV series "Coast" and my mum one from the TV programme "Songs of Praise". There are also a couple of autobiographies I intend to buy as presents... & then borrow to read myself

Well, I have no kids so that is not something I can help you with. My family actually does not live around me so it would be just my husband and maybe some small things for his family. We usually end up getting Gift Cards for his Mom and Step Dad and for his Dad and Step Mom, and I think anyone else we will see at Christmas we will give them Bags of Jerky from my Jerky Business.

Hi MsSnow, when my sister's kids were younger, I used to buy them toys. Now that they're schooling (junior and pre-school), I'm looking for books - stories, arts & crafts and so on. I think it's easier to buy for children. My sister's husband and brother love books, so I usually get them vouchers from the major bookstores. The biggest headache is buying for my husband and sister. Last year I got a wallet for my hubby, but couldn't think of anything for my sister, so I gave her cash instead. It's going to be another headache this year!

I am short on money this Christmas so I bought everything at a second hand book shop, I have bought books for all, and they don't mind if they are second-hand, anyways I couldn't afford anything new so take it or leave it.

I haven't started a list yet, but I am planning on knitting cute hats for some kids I know, fingerless gloves for one of my friends, scarves for my other friends, and just a lot of books. I am going to give my sister a sweater from Old Navy, I knit my husband socks, and a travel mug for my husband. I don't know what else I will be doing. I think I will also get some kind of model building set for my husband.

I am giving small gifts this year. I can't afford much. I am saving my money so I can attend my son's wedding in February. It will be a tight year for gift giving.

I think I will be giving out some house slippers this year. And I already got my mom a couple of small gifts on clearance sale. Besides that, I would like to find some kind of unique crafty item that I could make for everyone. Otherwise, I will be hitting the clearance aisles even more because I have quite a few people to buy for. LOL My nephew, just got a new apartment, so for him I think I am going to get a butcher block or cutting board. That's just a couple of things that I heard that he kind of needs, but doesn't want to spend the money to buy himself.

I am making a quilt for my bf for Christmas. He is really hard to buy for, when I find something he might like he either has already bought it for himself or he states that he doesn't need more stuff. I figure the quilt will be something that he really can't say too much about. For my BF, it will be more plastic canvas, yarn and other stuff I think she might like. If I have the time I will get her quilt finished. Otherwise it will be a birthday gift. I might also get her a couple of magazine subscriptions. I love getting subscriptions as they remind me of the person each time I get an issue of the magazine. I get myself a gift for Christmas and my birthday. This year I am hoping to get myself a Memory Craft 9000 embroidery sewing machine. I had the 8000 model but needed the money so I sold it. The 9000 is newer and has more options and more bells and whistles. Since I sew a lot it is the perfect gift to buy myself. The rest of my budget will be to buy gifts for the needy. I know what it is like to have a child and no money for Christmas gifts. This year is going to be even worse for the number of children who won't have Christmas if people don't help out.

I usually have an idea of what my kids want and then I just go shopping and see what I can find. I'm not sure what I'll do this year though. I lost my job and money is non-existent in my house so I'm pretty sad about the holidays.I know ot's not about the gift giving, but my kids will not understand that. They still believe in Santa.

I am going to buy ceramic ornaments for my parents, my brother and my grandparents. I had bought my seven year old nephew The 1st Hardy Boys Book. I bought my three 4 year nephews and niece (they are triplets) books as well. I bought Green Eggs and Ham (his name is Sam snd he calls the book Sam I Am), my other nephew likes trains and I bought him the book The Red Caboose and my niece is getting the book Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I am not sure what I am buying the oldest child (my husband)yet. He keeps telling me that he does not need anything. For the most part I will be making homemade gifts. I will be baking cookies, candy and fudge and will be giving these items away as gifts. For one of my friends (she loves Santa) I will be painting a ceramic Santa and a wooden sled. The sled will say Santa's Express.

I buy books throughout the year to give my grandchildren for Christmas every year. I let their parents buy them toys. I usually make something for each of my five children. This year it will be jewelry and canvas bags for shopping. I don't spend a lot for Christmas because I have so many and am on disability. They don't seem to mind.

A friend of ours from Bosnia, recently published his memoirs, and the books is awsome. I'm not just saying that because he's a friend, I'm saying that because the book really IS awsome. We are giving the adults copies of that for Christmas, and we are still trying to come up with inexpensive things to give to the kids.

I already have my eye set on a Hello Kitty coin bank that says "I Love You" when you drop coins in for my niece. I am still looking around for something nice to buy for my nephew who is already a teenager. I will also check on your thread to see if there is something that I can pick up from the gift suggestions here .

Christmas has been on my mind now for a few weeks or so. Gift giving is one of the things I cannot get my mind around...in fact, I can't get my mind around anything to do with it. This time last year I was preparing menus and thinking of meals, making shopping lists and building up my pantry in readiness for the family to come for about a week. I can't even get on top of the housework. My brain is functioning really badly lately. It's really nice to see you here my friend.

Christmas gift list? Are you mad? I haven't even thought about it. And then there's my sister-in-law who no doubt has her shopping done and the gifts all wrapped by now. Not me. I won't wait until December 24th, but I don't see myself starting until after Thanksgiving!
