Just a question I'd like to ask all my friends here

Of all you do in a day what would you consider the most useful thing you do and what do you class as a waste of time? I would say the most useful thing I do is cook as we need to eat to live, and the most useless thing would be making my bed. I'm the only one sleeping in it and I often change the sheets at which time I make the bed up good. The rest of the time I am in and out of bed a lot depending on how much rest I need for the day. Therefore some days my bed gets made 4 or 5 times.

The most useful thing that I feel like I do in my day is to play with my children because that is the foundation of a great relationship that I will have with them both today and also into the future. The most useless thing that I do with my day is to spend too much time on the internet. There are a lot of things that I would be able to get done with my day if it were not for the LCD monitor of my computer beckoning to me. I love the computer and I've been hooked on it since I was a teenager so it isn't a habit that is going to change in the near future, but at least I've come to the point that I can acknowledge that some of my time spent on it is a waste of time.

You're a very smart lady. I only had one daughter who is now 37 and has two kids. She spends a tremendous amount of time on her computer too but I can tell you her kids come first as you said this is useful for all times. I didn't have a computer till only a few years ago but I was a good Mom and I pride myself for that. Our kids are number ONE. Thank You and have a great day.

Hmmm... good question. I think the most useful and the most useless might be one and the same thing: going on the internet. It takes up a lot of time I could be doing something else, but also I find free stuff and earn a bit of money here and there. A close second would be cleaning: looks good when done but it never lasts.

grandmaof2 I feel bad now as the only useful thing I seem to do is mylot and try to help other mylotters. I live here in this retirement center where i am stuck as we were homeless, myson is just 3 miles away in a gov.sponsored apt. with three other men so they have a home while they look for work. so I do not do anything good here really,i am treated like a queen with my bed made, my laundry done for me, meals srved to me.I try to be helpful to those who are less able physically as I am, helping them into chairs, and things like that.

Hatley my dear friend you have some wrong ideas. The most useful thing you do is being here on myLot giving younger people some good advice from your own past experiences and also the help you give those folks in the center by helping them. I have had some very bad days with health issues and my husband leaving me to care for his brother when all the while I am not a healhty person. You know there have been many days I would have just loved to have someone to talk to. Please be careful about helping others in and out of chairs because you could hurt yourself or them too, but just being there and a voice to talk to is worth more than money to so many people. You are not useless Hatley not at all. I feel useless some days too but I know that's just me feeling sorry for myself. Coffee's on wish you were here but remember we love you here at myLot and don't forget it OKAY.

Making the bed has to be the most useless thing I do, too. I'm like you in that I take frequent naps every day and never know when I'll need them. But, I don't make the bed each time. I'll kind of throw the covers in place but don't bother tucking or smoothing. The only time I really make the bed nice is when I change sheets or when company is coming over. Now, as for the most useful, hmmm, I think that a lot of things we do every day is useful but I can't really say what is the most useful. Washing the dishes, maybe. I HATE dirty dishes in the sink. I had food poisoning once and know how fast bacteria can grow on food left out, like the food stuck on dishes sitting in the sink. I'm very quick to wash the dishes or, at the very least, rinse them off well if I can't wash them right away.

Good answer, here as well you will never see a dirty oven or dirty dishes in my house that just drives me nuts. We think alike on the bed issue. That's my nest and I'm the only one in it. LOL Thank You and have a Great Day.

Wow, it's interesting that I suddenly found it hard to answer this question. The most useful for me would have to be work. The useless bit, well, honestly, I don't know. Maybe it would be watching tv? Making my bed is essential to me because I'm one of those people who doesn't fair well in a cluttered environment. I am not comfortable with a messy home and when I get home I want things in order. If they're not in order, I don't feel like I can relax.

Working is very useful indeed. I don't care much for TV but there are people who watch it all day long, I could never do that. I used to be just like you wanting everything in order but now I am older and disabled to some point so things have changed for me. Thank You for your response and have a great day.

One of the most useful things I do is make my bed. I have a heated water bed, making my bed helps keep the heat in. Plus the most important thing is I have cats, they love lounging and sleeping on my bed. I have to keep it made, don't want any holes in it. As for the most useless thing I do, thats a tough one. Maybe when I just play on the computer, don't have much time lately to do that. I've been busy working on the ocmputer, my ebay stuff is picking up, have to keep up with that. Haven't even had time for my love life lately, haven't given up on that yet.

You should still be able to see the things I sell on ebay even if I don't ship to Canada. I don't ship to Canada mostly because of the shipping cost. plus I don't know how it all works for customs and duty taxes, that kind of stuff. I have you saved in my favotie sellers. I used to have my website and that would take you to my listings, but when it came time to renu everything, I didn't have the extra money. Have a good night.

Too funny!!! I read the part bed making keeps the heat in hehehehe Well with your level of intelligence and my wicked sense of humor you can imagine what I thought. Keeping the cats away, now that I can believe hehehe. I know I spend a huge amount of time on the computer but that's where my friends are!!! Keep up the good work!!! I looked for you on Ebay I know your name there but it says no items at this time so I take it you don't sell to Canada??? Have a Great Day my Dear Friend!!!

Helping others is my most useful thing. I have many friends who are diabetics and some have become dependent on my blog for recipes and tips. I get e-mails if I miss more than one day posting or returning the answers to their questions. The most useless thing is playing online games. I am addicted and compete with myself. But I do the games to keep my mind and coordination active. This was recommended by my doctor but it seems like a waste of time to me.

I have many pets (rabbits, a cat and a dog) and every day I take care of them. I feed them, play with them, clean the rabbits' cages, take the dog for a walk etc. I think that is the most useful thing that I do. The most useless thing is probably that time that I spend on my computer. I use my computer in many ways, and it isn't useless to keep in touch friends, earn money online and search for new information, but I also tend to spend a lot time on computer games, and I sometimes feel that I waste too much time on that.

I do flashcards and workbooks with my son and I consider that as useful. Also cooking I consider as useful. And doing laundry which I hate doing is useful because we need clean clothes to wear every day. I'm not really sure what I do that would be a waste of time. I guess going on facebook everyday I could consider that as a waste of time but I do enjoy going on there and seeing what all my family and friends are up to.

I would have to say that the most useful thing that I do daily, is get up and work to make money to help support my family. I do a ton of other things daily too and they are all useful to keep my household up and running and in order.

The most useful thing I do is managing the budget, because we could buy food out if we absolutely had to. But I agree with you that making the bed is the most useless thing. That is why I love fat comforters. They cover a multitude of sheet and blanket wrinkles. At hotels the first thing I do is pull the sheets out from under the mattresss because I don't like to sleep with the sheets tucked in. I too only make the bed up "good" when I change the sheets.

hi there, for me the most useful thing that I do and have ever done is to provide for and take time to raise my daughters to be good people. In doing that, I guess then that pretty much everything I do is useful. My work...my cooking.....pretty much everything and every choice I have made has been with the same goal. Ok...my most useless waste of time would be when at 1pm I sit down to eat my lunch and I turn on All MY CHILDREN rather than grab my book. I guess my wasted time is probably more wasted than yours. At least you are tidying up. I'm just sitting there following some really stupid drama....and enjoying it for some stupid reason.
