Dear friends, If I want to go to my native place, I need to travel 24 hrs by train and it is very tedious. So i will buy some magazines and carry some wool with me. So by reading those magazines and news paper for some time, knitting for sometime and by sleeping for some time, I spend my time during the journey. I am interested to know how do you spend your time while travelling either by train or plane for some hours?

When I have to travel for many hours I always bring some books and some magazines so that I have plenty of things to read. In July when I was travelling from Denmark to Lithuania I spent about 30 hours in trains and busses. Before I left I had bought a lot of magazines in a second hand shop, I couldn't bring all of those magazines so I went through them all, and I picked out the articles and stories that I was interested in and put them in my bag. That way I had plenty of things to read. I also bring some notebooks and some pens when I have to travel for a long time, because I like to write letters to my friends, poems or other things.

Hi porcospino spending 30 hrs. in trains and buses is really boring, tedious and tiresome. You are doing a sensible thing like buying the books in a second hand shop instead of spending a considerable sum for a new one. i am happy that you write poems too and it is a gifted thing coz everyone can't write poems. Thanks for your response and keep responding

Hi priesh Sometimes, I travel by night train to my native place. That is easy for me and I simply get into the train, just lay down in my seat . When I open my eyes, my destination will be there and I get down from my seat pack my things and get down from the train and start my further journey. Thanks for responding

If my sister is with me, I do not mind travelling for 24 or 48 hours. We talk on so many things for hours together. My husband always says 'what is there for you to talk so much? Yesterday only you have talked for one hour.' Then I will say continuation of yesterday's topics. If I am alone, then I will be reading news papers and magazine or novel. Side by side I will even watch the scenary outside, what all stations are coming in between so that we will know the rout. I even watch the behavioural patterns of people around.

If someone gives a good company, it is eacy to spend our time and even when I travel to my native place, both me and my sister will travel most of the time and when the train starts, we simply start our conversation and the topic goes on about so many issues and even before we finish our conversation, our destination comes and we get down from the train and start towards our home.

Hi Deepa Reading the novels is the best time passing during our journey i thinkAs we can't read for a long time coz in a moving train, it will be shaking and our eyes get strained and we may develop headache, it is better to talk with the co passengers and pass time for some time. The best way is simply close our eyes and relax for some more time. Thanks for the response.

Hi bluray I too feel headache, if I read in the train for a long time. So just for 10 or 15 minutes i will read something like news paper or magazines and simply view outside or chat with the other passengers, sleep or munch something. what else we can do. Thanks for responding. keep responding

Well a few years ago I spent days on a train. I would read, talk with the other passengers, watch the views and eat. Thats about all that you can do.

Yes. Somehow we have to pass our time till we reach our respected destination. so whether we like it or not, we have to chat with the co passengers, munch something, read and watch the views. Thank you for your response

Yes. Managing the kids itself is a best time passing and till they sleep, we can't do any other work. For sometime, we can chit chat with the co passengers and keep looking the outside views from the window. Thanks for responding.
