Do you have comfort clothes, which you cannot do without?

I returned home after a long day. Unlocked the series of doors, threw my shoes, shoved off my hand bag to reach for my old, shabby yet the most cuddly dress on earth! This has been my routine for many years now. I just cannot do without my 'comfort clothes' until my mom actually hides it!
My two nieces and nephew too have the same habit. They too have their own sets of comfort clothes. They would slip in their pet clothes after they reach home, especially if it night time. My sisters feel they have gone after me!!
What about you, do you have your set of comfort clothes?

I had a pair of denim shorts once that I loved so much that whenever they got a hole I sewed a pretty patch over it or embroidered a flower, but eventually they just fell completely apart. That is the only time I ever completely wore out clothing by wearing it so much. I think they started out as jeans and then I cut the legs off to make shorts.

Wow! With all those embroideries and creativity those must have been great art pieces! Denims seldom wear out so I too make it short and wear as shorts or capris.
Your husband's shirt? Sounds cool.

I think you are really sweet to care for the elders and show respect like that.

Comfort clothes would translate to night clothes. Mine being pajamas and an old shirt.^_^ Even inside the house Im really not fond of wearing skirts, dresses or shorts. Im more comfortable when my legs and shoulders are hidden underneath cloth. I just feel weird when its exposed. Sure, I can say that outside the house I easily feel dirty because of the pollution or whatnot but inside the house, there really isnt any reason not to show skin right? But, like I said Im more comfortable wearing "jammies". I used to wear shorts inside the house when I was younger but these days, now that I have a number of pajamas, that would be the first thing that Id grab for my night/home clothes. I dont have those two piece pajamas, the ones that have a long sleeve matching shirt. I just have the pajama pants and I wear my old shirts from childhood. Surprisingly they still fit me though there are a few that are slightly hanging now.LOL

I think they grow with us!
I used to wear jammies when young but now I mostly wear tracksuit bottoms. I do not wear skirts during night, I too, find it uncomfortable.

I have some room socks that I bought short ago. Now that winter's coming the floor of my apartment is kind of cold, and I don't wear shoes at home, so as soon as I arrive and take off my shoes I put on those super warm and confortable socks. My feet feel happy when I'm wearing them :)

It must be really cold there! I can imagine you in your socks and cuddling inside the blanket.

I do. This is a nightie[ in fact there are few of them] which are made of soft cotton and I feel most comfortable in them .I have now developed this habit of being unable to sleep if I am not wearing some cotton night wear or other[I do wear a cotton saree if I am in someone else's place].AT HOME, this would be favourite cotton night dress[much to the eye sore of my husband and son who keep saying that I should buy more nighties than sarees because I use them with more devotion and in greater frequency .THis is intended for the night but at times I wear it in the evening itself if I come home after some shopping or so.

Nighties are most comfortable and people who wear it knows it cannot get more comfortable than that. It's very decent also, covered all through. I have seen my sister wearing it at night when she comes here. She feels its really comfortable. And I think you should buy more nighties if you are staying at home more and if you do not get many visitors.

Hi dear!
When I return home from my office or from anywhere else, first thing I do is to change my clothes and like you I slip into my comfort clothes, which I wear at home. I feel comfortable wearing Kurta - Payjama at home during all seasons. I change the clothes only when I am required to go outside my home. I just cannot feel comfortable in trousers-shirt, which I wear for my office. Even on holidays, when I am sure no guest is going to come around, I would prefer to remain in my comfort clothes and my better half and kids also follow the same drill.
Please do enjoy your VERY SPECIAL Day today!

Kurta pyjama is a great comfort wear. My father used to wear loose kind of pyjama which is quite comfortable. I wear tracksuit bottoms most of the times.

I never heard of pet clothes before. But I do have comfort clothes too. I think they are pajamas. Its really nice to wear them after a long hard days work and after I have a clean shower or bath. My comfort clothes are worn too. lol.

This is absolutely true! Nothing like slipping in a nice fresh pair of Pjs after a nice shower.

I have my jammies that are comfort clothes to me. They're cotton and soft and feel god on the skin. They're already faded like some of my comfort tshirts but I can't throw them away. It's like there's some sort of sentimental value or something that keeps me from getting rid of them LOL. Well, I think they're comfy that's why.

You know what, I had started one discussion about the nostalgic value and my clothes were on the list of priorities. So, I can relate to you, totally.

Hi mimpi! I do have my own set of comfort clothes but unlike yours mine is made up of partially torn and thinning clothing (it hot here in the Philippines). I usually like wearing clothes that are a bit torn near the sleeves, neckline, and in the armhole. I also like wearing shorts made up of light fabric.

My comfort clothes are thinned in as well. Its also hot in here so I always wear cotton clothes. And trust me, I have one set that looks like yours.

Oh yes, I definitely have some comfort clothes, and they are all alike. soft cotton and loose. I have to wear suits for the office, and after a whole day of tight fitting clothes, once I get home the first thing I do is go to the bedroom and change. yes, they have become blurry, and a little bit torn at the edges, but as long as I can still wear them, I keep them. My son won't let me throw out his comfort t-shirts and shorts too, even though they are torn here and there. But he only wears them to sleep.

Even I fight with my mom over this. She is very particular about her dress and thinks I am a mess with it!

I had blue track pant with a light coloured towel like material t-shirt which i would always wear when i was at home. So much so that it lasted for years after which i had to get rid of it as the stitches had started to open out. Most unwillingly though. After that i never really got into a specific set of comfort clothes, just really try to get myself comfortable with the clothes i wear everyday, by first getting my shoes off after having worn them the whole day.
I've fancied the idea of wearing bermuda shorts once but found it quite wierd on me after having a good look at the mirror.

I can imagine the mirror goggling at you. So, good decision there.
I have 2-3 sets which are weird to others but heaven to me. I just have to have one before sleeping.

Hey mimpi! How are ya girlfriend? I haven't seen you in awhile!
Nice to see ya again! I think that everyone deserves to have
their "comfort clothes"! I have mine and even when my boyfriend
tried to get me to through most of them out I still kept some!
He has his so why shouldn't I have mine? I don't think that
you should feel badly about wanting to come home after a hard
day and put on whatever you want to put on to relax! After all
you are at HOME! Who cares what what we wear when we are home
and relaxing! I know even when someone pops in on me unexpected
and sees me in my old rags I still don't care! (Well, maybe just
a little)Shhhhshhh don't tell!

Mine is discolored, pale and most indistinctive but most comfortable. I can visualise your blurry T-shirts.
