15 year old Alyssa Bustamante was indicted on first degree murder charges in the killing of 9 year old Elizabeth Olten. She allegedly cut the little girls throat and stabber her. Reason, "she wanted to know what it felt". On a day off from school she dug up two holes then proceeded to plan out the murder for a week. On October 21, 2009, Elizabeth Olten became the victim when visiting her friend, the younger sister of the accused. If convicted on first degree charges as an adult she will get life in prison without parole. I believe that is exactly what she needs to get. This to me is a "bad seed" that will not be able to be rehabitated.

I have the television on in the next room and I just heard something about this on the news preview. That is just horrible. I think she needs to go to jail or a mental institution.

Yes I never thought about the mental insitiution. Sure but for a long long time. There are some kids who for some reason end up evil and there is very little help for them. We shall see what happens. Thanks for responding.

I was watching the news when the story came on later on the other day. The girl listed one of her hobbies as killing people. I would say she is a little bit(ok a lot) not right in the head.

That is a horrific story. The girl was so young and did such a sick and retched thing. Something just not right in that girls head. Can you imagine your child going to over to play at a friends house and having their sibling kill them. That is so aweful. There are some people that are just born with things just not right in their brains. It is unfortunate for them and anyone who loves them and becomes their victims.

That is so sad. This whole world in going looney. I cannot imagine hearing that reason coming from her mouth.

It is absolutely awful. Both families will now suffer. It is truly scary. And yet another reason not to let kids of any age out of our sight.

She needs to have the book thrown at her. What a horrible thing for her to do. She couldn't have been raised right to act like that. It all begins at home when they are young.

This is true. I believe I read she was raised part of her life by her mom and grandma, with no father in the picture. I just can't believe a girl could do something like this. Thanks for responding.

I wonder what's got into her head to even think of killing just to "know how it felt". This girl doesn't have a history of getting into trouble in school, and she seemed a nice girl - it's just unbelievable! It's premeditated murder, and whatever is the real reason behind it, she needs to be alienated from others, lest she does it again. Her mental and psychological faculties should be examined.

hi lelin1123 oh I am so glad that they gave this sick evil girl first degree charges, hope they give her a life sentence. she is evidently a psychopath and needs to be in prison away from all people. from all I have read these kind of people cannot be rehabilitated so life sentence is w hat she should get.

This is a really terrible and sad story. It's really sad that people so young are killing. Now, this teen girl has really ruined her life for this. I do believe that she is where she belongs, but at the same time, she is so young. A part of me can help but feel a little sorry for her.

I'm sure family members knew she had some mental issues and no one did a thing about it. Its horrible for both famillies. I just can't understand how someone can think nothing of killing another human being. The brain must be wired quite wrong for these people who commit murder. Thank you for responding.

That is exactly where she needs to be. To plan it out for a week and then go through with it just to see what it was like is beyond words to me. She would probably do it again if they gave her the chance to. I feel sorry for both the parents in this case and I am sure that they all have a long road ahead of them but the fact stands that she committed cold blooded murder and needs to be punished for a very very long time for it.

Yes I'm sure she would do it again. I too feel so sorry for both sets of parents to have to go thru this. But the accused parents still can see her and visit with her. Elizabeth's parents don't have that option. Thank you for responding.

Isn't this just awful?!! Poor little girl (the one that she murdered)! I think Alyssa needs to get life without parole, too. What in the world was she thinking?! When I was 15, I wouldn't have ever thought of anything like this. I wouldn't have wanted to murder anybody, anyway. Kathy.

I'm not sure what it was you didn't understand but if its the "Bad Seed" part I will try and explain. Some kids are born as if they have nothing but evil in their souls. They will usually kill animals first. That is the first sign when a child kills an animal with no care at all. There is a movie that was made back in the 60's called "The Bad Seed". Its about this little girls who kills one of her classmates, then kills the handy man that takes care of the property she lives on.
