I do love the state I live in but I can't stand the winters anymore! I'm stuck here! If I could I'd move somewhere warmer! I hate the cold! Cold fingers and hands! The cold wind in my face! Cold feet! Driving when it snows! The ice! Slpping on the ice! Digging my car out after a blizzard! Scrapeing the ice off the car's windshield! Dragging myself threw the deep snow to do my job at the stable! Breaking ice on the horses water buckets! Having to wear so many layers of clothes! More laundry to do! Having to out in the middle of the night to make sure car starts and will start again when we have temps below zero!! Slipping and sliding through stop signs and stop lights! Haveing to wear layers of clothes at home, even though I have the heat up over 60 and I'm still chilled! That wasn't always that way! I used to be able to walk and sit around in just a bathrobe! Not anymore! Last but not least, the dreaded sinus infections which I get every winter! This why I hate winter in Wisconsin! If I wasn't getting older I wouldn't feel this way!

I know it has to get old for you. I live in Indiana and we have cold weather here also but not alot of snow lately. I wish we could see a bit more than what we do. I am sure I would be tired of it also if we had alot of it every year.

You can have my 8in of snow plus the freezing rain we've had the past day or so and now expect another few inches of it tomorrow.

Maybe when I get to retirement time I'll move somewhere it is warm and I don't have to worry about snow! That would be nice!

You could come across the lake to Michigan..so far here in the middle of it we only have about 6 inches..better hurry though we have 15 inches and 50 mph winds coming for the middle of the week.
I hear ya my snowy neighbor..you left out one from your list..All those ying yangs that think they can drive like it's still October when the first snow hits. They do it every year.look out their windshields, see the snow and ice and adjust..NOTHING..

I sure did forget the part where everyone drives like it is October in the winter! I do keep a closer eye on the road during the winter because of the manics!

Ya know, as much as I hate Texas summers, I love the winters. Even the days it gets into the 20's I know it won't stay there long.
Worst winter I remember was 1983, where we had 2 weeks below freezing and I wasn't living in a house that could be kept warm, and, to make it worse, the only heater in the house was in the living room - well there was a gas heater in the bathroom and I had BOTH turned up all the way AND the OVEN and all the burns on the stove on! And it STILL wasn't comfortable - I'm glad I was only 30 then!

I live in New England and the winters can be pretty vicious here as well. I've never really liked the cold much. I have asthma and it seems to be worse when I'm out in the cold for very long. I do love the snow though. I think it is beautiful and it usually warms things up a bit. I know what you mean about the cold seeming worse as we get older. It really does, doesn't it? I don't think there is really any perfect climate anywhere. I've heard Arizona is awesome. I would love to check it out but I too am not in a position to move or even travel right now.

Yes winters are harder on people who get older! Especially my joints like my legs, arms and hands! Maybe when I retire I can retire in Arizona or another warm state! That won't be for awhile though!

This is why I have dreamed of becomming a snowbird. One day if we have the good fortune I would like to live somewhere warmer in the winter months that remain after new years.
I too have noticed I tolerate less of the temps than I did when I was younger, not that I'm not young now. But sometimes when that chill gets into your bones no matter your age YOU KNOW IT! The snow is a burden not a joy like it is in your childhood.
