I have made lots of pumpkin pies over the years, and I have made other pies over the years too. This year I made my first pecan pie. Have you ever made a pie from scatch, if so what kind?

I attempted to make an apple pie once from scratch and it actually didn't turn out that bad other than the fact that shaping the dough was a ..... I had to have my husband help me because he does that every day at his job and he was able to get it strtch out enough to cover the bottom and the top but it was still hard Hehehe...I decided right then that I would much rather buy a pie than attempt that again..

I have made many kinds, but not pecan. I have made refrigerator pies as well as the baked kind. I had a recipe for a pink lemonade pie a long time ago. It was super fast, I think it had lemonade concentrate, Eagle brand milk, and whipped topping. All fluffed up in a graham crust, of course. I like the homemade graham crusts best, they have more flavor. I also really like lemon meringue pies.

Only pie I have made from scratch is peanut butter pie. So easy and everyone in my family loves it. I have made it with chocolate sauce and also with berry sauce. The berry sauce was cool because it ended up being kind of like peanut butter and jelly pie.

Its my favorite. Then make pumpkin pies all the time and dutch apple pies. I love it and really enjoy doing it, get my son to help sometimes but he likes to make a bigger mess :) lol

Hi ladym I did that about 9 years ago and it too was a pecan pie. It turned out pretty good. Since then I haven't made anything from scatch. NO WAIT..I did ..I made a peach cobbler from scatch this past summer. My MIL made one and it seemed so easy I thought I would give it a try. It tasted good but it didn't look like hers..LOL Cute discussion and have a great evening dear.

I've made apple pie a couple times- crust and all- from scratch, and they turned out pretty good. I've never tried making a creamy-center pie (like pumpkin or key lime) before, and I don't think I want to try; partly because it seems too mcuh trouble and partly because I don't like them! w

I have made several pies from scratch in the past. Mostly apple and black raspberry, but I have made a pecan pie before as well. Pecan pie is really too sweet for my liking, but I made it for a family dinner once.

Shepherd's pie - A wholesome dish that can keep ones hunger away
My favourite is Shepherd's Pie which is made with minced meat. I had attended some cooking classes and I remember this was the first dish that was taught. I liked it so much that every time I had to entertain someone this was always made but I have not made it for a while now as I was on a diet and since we have to use a lot of cheese I had stopped making it. But now that I have achieved my required weight I shall go back to it.

I have made pumpkin pies, apple pies, chocolate pies and cheesecake. Sometimes I buy frozen crust and sometimes I make my own. Depends on my mood and time. But fresh pumpkin pie is my all time favorite.

Apple, and it was a mess! It was fun though, I think I just ate it over the sink so it would get anywhere else. I'm not a baker but I'm a buyer and an eater of other people's pies.

I used to make pies all the time, although it is quite time consuming. I have made apple, blueberry, pumpkin, and lemon meringue pie. I'll probably be making a couple for our Christmas family dinner too!

I have made pies and cobblers. I have not done it in a really long time though! I cooked apple pies and they were really good. I like to make the crust as well. Some people like to buy the crust but half the fun is making it too!

I used to make homemade pies from scratch, crust and all. I still make pies from time to time, not as often since I am usually watching my calories! Now, however, I buy my pie crust ready to go, all rolled out into little rolls. I like these better than the preformed crusts that come frozen in little aluminum pie plates. I think they have a far superior flavor and you don't have the problem of the frozen crusts fracturing in the pan before you use them. I love rhubarb pie, and it's hard to find commercially even if they did make one as good as homemade. I finally got my husband to plant a good bunch of rhubarb plants, and they matured this year, so I have been in rhubarb heaven! But I'm still not satisfied with my rhubarb pie. If anyone has suggestions or a good recipe, I would really appreciate it! I've done some apple pies this year, too. One really wicked pie that I adore is called, I think, a derby pie. It has pecans, chocolate chips, and a bit of bourbon. Not a lot, and I personally don't think it's all that necessary. This pie is pretty sweet and gooey and altogether delightful! It's a hard choice, but perhaps my all time favorite is a good, tart lemon meringue pie. I enjoy a good pumpkin pie, too. My husband makes them. He likes to for some reason, even though he usually isn't much of a cook. At least a pumpkin pie is fairly nutritious. Especially compared to that derby pie! What are your favorites?

sure! i love to cook so i cooked a lot of things, cakes biscuits, pstries and also salt food like meat, salad and a lot of other things. I can make also the italian "tiramisu" it's a delicious dessert, made with biscuits, coffee, cocoa, eggs, and a special cheese called " mascarpone". It's not so difficult to make but it takes a lot of time. In some places is considered like a cake.

Haha, I've made a few. My first one was a chocolate pie, because I knew my brother's favorite was chocolate pie, so I tried to make one like grandmas. That didn't go over very well! I've made pumpkin pies before, those are pretty easy, and I LOVE making strawberry pies, because they're delicious and fun! Sometimes messy though, but it's fun when my boyfriend gets involved and we get it everywhere! I have yet to make a pie this year, as I'm still not sure which one to choose...
