I guess I can, and very happily...I love fruits and vegetables a lot. I can eat any amount of fruits. The other day I decided to try out a fruit and vegetable diet since we had a lot of fruits at home. I had some tea, orange juice, bananas and some melon in the morning for breakfast and vegetable soup, salad and more fruits like chikoo and pineapple for lunch. I loved the whole experience....I feel it cleanses your system and helps in reducing weight as well...I am thinking of doing this regularly , once a week at least ? Friends what do you think of this ? and would you all like to try this out once in a while..

I could eat just fruits and salads for a day or two. I like fruit and I like salads too. I do not care for vegeatable soup but I could eat a different like beef and noodles or chicken and noodles would not be bad.

Hi happy, It is great to know that you like fruits and salads. It does a lot of good to your system to go on this diet once in a while. I have an aunt who has lost nearly 8 kilos of body weight in a matter of 4 months after going on a fruit and vegetable diet once a week only...She is also very careful about what she eats and drinks lots of water and goes for regular walks ..All the best

I would love to live just on fruits and salads, not just for a day or two. I would not mind even for a week. The reason I was not able is because I was just too lazy to prepare it. I guess if others did it for me, I would be most delighted to live on such a diet.

LOL I too have the same problem. I would be more than happy if someone else helped me out with the diet. But I am trying to discipline myself now, since I have realised the goodness of it..All the best and have a great weekend

Well, it is much easier to microwave a hotdog than to slice different fruits and vegetables. It's a good thing you can buy prepared salads straight from the supermarket now.

I think I can live on fruits and salads for one day, but not more than that. I am sure that I can't live on that for one week. I have rice everyay and I feel uncomfortable if I miss rice at least for one day. I will be longing for rice if I spend rice without some days. I have experienced that when my in laws came down to meet me. They don't like rice. So, I avoided cooking rice for some time and it was difficult for me to handle.

That makes sense ! A fruit and vegetable diet along with milk and some carbohydrates and protein would be ideal...But once in a while having just fruits and vegetables is definitely good for the system ..

Yes, you must try it only for a day in a week or month, not more than that. Since fruits don't have the daily dose of enery required by our body to function. Fruits only have the Vitamins and minerals. So, having fruits on a regular basis in small amounts along with normal diet is the best option rather than living only on fruits. Cheers!

I think i can too. Actually it'll become more like a fasting and i would love to do something like that! Did you know that fasting while having only fruits nad salads (+ water) replenishes and detoxify ones entire system and body? Once in a week would be too frequent, but i think we should make it a practice to go fasting with fruits and salads at least once in a month! What so you feel?

Having a fruit and vegetable diet once a fortnight or once a month is not too bad. It is actually refreshing especially during summer. I too feel that it does a lot of good our system and skin ..

That makes sense...But I have tried a fruit and veggie diet which is not at all difficult .I have soups, salads, fruits and water alternatively and it feels great. The benefits are many, other than helping you keep trim, it also cleanses your system..

Yes, it is a kind of fasting if you have only fruits the whole day. The fruits one eat gets digested very fast and you will keep feeling more and more hungry, which is bad. You might say that if I feel hungry I will keep having fruits, but after sometime the fruit flavour becomes intolerable, you will desperately want to have something spicy and end up eating more of junk foods. So it is better to have small amounts of fruit on daily basis. Good Luck!

Nice that you liked the experience. In my case, it would be impossible. I need to eat different varieties of food, or I will feel very weak, so I doubt a lot I could be able to stand eating only fruits and vegetables.

Along with this, it also solves constipation problem I believe, since fruits have maximum FIBER in them.

I'm sure I could. I know my 8 year old does it a lot. She loves fruit and Salad and sometimes that all seems that she eats. My husband does grow a lot of fruit and veggies, so I know we eat more than the average family, which is fine by me. Have you seen the price of fruit, especially in the winter??

Hi Kimbers, an 8 year old liking fruits and vegetables is really great. Children that age need a lot of coaxing .No doubt fruits are expensive especially the more exotic ones. I feel that one must concentrate on seasonal fruits and vegetables which are quite affordable - all the best and have a great evening

A brown rice fast is where you eat brown rice... and ONLY brown rice... for 10 days. I can't fast without food because of medical conditions so when I heard of this, I tried it and it was wonderful! I felt great! You don't eat before sun up or after sun down. You eat only what your two cupped hands will hold. Drink only water (I occasionally have unsweetened tea or coffee) And at the end of 10 days you add in greens. Then fruits. Then other veggies. It's great to help with finding if you have a sensitivity to food.

I live in Spain, where fruit and vegetables are very cheap and it's often too hot to eat anything else. If I want to lose a few pounds quickly, I spend a week on the Cabbage Soup Diet, and I can lose up to 10lbs in a week. Yes, I can quite easily live on fruit and salad for a few days.

Yes I agree Sandra, one is able to loose weight quickly with hardly any adverse effects when we eat just fruits and vegetables. Combined with plenty of water and a little bit of exercise like a brisk walk it is most effective...

yes its good but then I was once told by an aunt of mine to have fast of apples and water melon . I bet you would like to know how. Its like this, one day u only eat apples and nothing lese, second day only water melon. But on different day and its really good for losing weight etc. When I go on a diet I try juices all day. Or what I do is I take 2/3 slices of bran bread with tea and then apple or orange juice in lunch and then at night boil rice or again some fruits. I prefer papaya it really helps u lose weight.

No guts required to eat simple fruits and vegetables throughout the day. All you have to do is not do it abruptly. First start with having one fruit meal in a day and then slowly extend it to one whole fruit day. If you suddenly change your normal diet to fruit diet, it may have adverse effect on your body like weakness, nausea etc. Everything must be initiated in a planned and small amount. I know you will adjust yourself well with this strategy! God Luck! You will also find that you are loosing extra weight if you have any

Yes. I have before. I barely eat Carbohydrates or meats. I live off of salad, fruit, steamed vegetables mostly. I don't even really like dairy or white sugar, so it's fine by me. I get enough sugars and carbohydrates from fruits to make me last through the day. I also drink a lot of water, or home squeezed juice as store bought fruit juice often has a lot of added sweetener.
