I have always made News Year Resolutions, but I don't know why I do, because sometimes I start out well only to have them dwindle down after a few short weeks. But I guess as long as I try I ain't giving up on myself totally..

Yes. Well I guess we already have. We want to get a car and a house this upcoming year, so that's a resolution, though I suppose resolutions are supposed to changes for the better, so I don't know if that'd be a good example or not, lol.

Then okay, lol, that's our resolution to save for a car and a house. We would need to save hard for the house, and I suppose a better resolution is for us to not spend so much on wants, lol, but we've got plans for that as well.

No, I do not make New Year's Resolutions. I frequently resolve, all year long, to do a better job tomorrow and that is what we should be doing. It is sometimes fun as well as dramatic, to make these big plans for the new year.

I used to make new year's resolutions every year. Usually to start a diet. It never lasted long and I finally gave up on it. I have asked others close to me and they aren't making any this year either. It is as if people are just totally bummed and have made no plans for the future.

I think it is my that people realize they cannot keep them so they don;t make them.

celticeagle I hope they are not bummed and failing to plan for the future! Not making New Year\s resolutions could just mean they set goals a different way.

We are going to make the same one we do every year, and that's not to take any crap from anyone. We are not going to put up with people trying to push us around. We are also making a new mutual resolution, and that's to put atleast $50 away in savings each, per month. Hubby and I both have a Savings account each, and we have our own checking accounts, and our own incomes. We are going to save $50 a month each, MINIMUM.

I think the main New Year's resolution will be to save more money. I know everyone says that they should do this. I like to have extra money in case of a major rainy day comes along. I'm tired of having to worry if something happens, will we have the money to cover it. So, that's my New Year's resolution.

I do not really make new years resolutions anymore, they are too easy to break. I tend to set up challenges for myself for the year of things that I want to do. I have a few for the new year that I am hoping I will achieve I just need to keep kicking myself up the backside to make sure that they happen!

Yes, that's very much obvious. Firstly, I would like me to get a job soon as I complete my degree in the later part of the new year as soon as the results are announced or before. And secondly, I would like to buy a PS3 or a laptop!!

I normally don;t make them because like so many people I never keep them. I am those ones that always say I am going to exercise more, quit smoking, eat healthier etc etc. I quit smoking in July so I accomplished that although I did it way late and didn't really set it as a resolution.... I think this year i am just going to focus on trying to lose some extra weight and trying to eat a bit more healthier but I am not going to set it as a resolution only because then if I don't accomplish it I am not let down and then don;t feel bad about myself.

there are many other kinds of resolutions you could make if you really wanted to, working on being a better person, exercise or eat better, stop swearing, give more to charity control anger whatever I am throwing these out I am not saying you have to do any of them but these are the types of things people make resolutions about, of course lots of people don't make resolutions at all, I don't either.

Change Has to come from within and I don't think if you Really want to change that you Have to wait until New Years. all the ones you listed I would Never decide to do.for me to eat "healthier" means I would have to Stop eating! I love swearing. I am as good or bad as Iam going to be.so Why would I Lie to myself and say I will change things this coming year? If I didn't makes these changes I would feel really bad.Why bother?

Yes. I am resolving to lose weight, get more fit and to get more organized. To get organized I follow FLYlady and I also joined a site to get organized in 52 weeks. Yesterday I got rid of something, today I organized a kitchen cupboard and got rid of something. I weighed on the first and wrote down the weight but haven't progressed on that yet. I will keep off the small amount of weight I lost last year and lose some more. Any thing I lose is progress. I joined a walking group and that has already helped me be more fit. I didn't wait until New Years to do that but grabbed the opportunity when I came across it. New Years is a good time to see how I am doing; pat myself on the back and resolve to continue. I do it various other times throughout the year too.
