Just imagine that you are hungry or you are eating a dry packed lunch in your office, and you are wishing you have something else to eat. It happens to most of us I guess. I remember sometimes I am eating at a restaurant even, but craving for something else. Most of the time what we crave for is the simplest of dishes that we eat every day and not the exotic and expensive dishes. For example, I feel like having plain Rice,Fish Curry, dhal, vegetables and yogurt, whenever I have these cravings - very rarely anything exotic, other than a masala dosa or sometimes even the humble Upma lol.. Friends what do you crave for when you are hungry?

It just depends on the day, but most often it's Mexican food.

Hi dawnald, I love mexican food. The spicier or rather hotter thge better. I once had a salad that was so hot that I had to drink several glasses of water in between, but I loved it...All the best and happy mylotting

I guess I'm a wimp. We went to an Indian restaurant Friday night and they asked how hot the food should be on a scale from 1 to 10. I said 2. It was a wee bit too spicy for me!

Then one can imagine what 8,9 or even 10 would have been. I wonder why they add so much of chillies, it doesnt really make the food tastier, rather dulls all other tastes...all the best

Well my craving for food depends on the circumsatnces....If I eat simple homely food for days togehter,I sometimes get fed up and crave for chinese and other exotic dishes which we get in the restuartants...and enjoy that atmosphere too......But if I have to eat out continously ,especially when I am travelling and am on a holiday, then I begin to crave for simple homely food ....Eating out means intake of more and unnecessary calories.....And after eating out continously such food no longer appears appealing.....I guess this is the case with most of us....

Well for me,the maximum amount of satisfaction that I ahve derived is from the home made dishes of my grandmother..She was a superb cook.....I miss her and her cooking a lot....

Roseo, my grandma too was a fabulous cook. I still remember the prwn curry she made and the simple rasam with Tomatoes. She used to steam fish wrapped in banana leaves, though my aunt and mom do prepare the dish, no one can come anywhere near my gran, she was the best ....

When I am hungry and craving, I usually crave things that are generally things that don't fall into a well balanced diet. I find I will lean either towards salty foods or sweet foods for any particular craving. It could be for popcorn or chips, ice cream or chocolate cake. Shopping for groceries when I'm like this usually ends up with me have a bunch of unhealthy for in my cart. But, every once in a while I will crave a meal, like ribs, or steak, or pasta. Well, now, I have to go and raid the fridge, .

Hi uicbear, lol...have you finished raiding the fridge? I feel that one should never shop while one is hungry, you tend to spend on unnecessary things. It has happened to me when I have later realised that I have bought w3ay too much of bakery products and such that may not be consumed in time...All the best and happy mylotting

Hi jules, you are so right. I once ended up buying a packetful of cup cakes which no one likes in my home, but I was hungry and thought everyboidy would eat it for tea. But I had to finish it all. It was not very tasty either...

I agree - I crave more salty things and things that have lots of carb - bread, pasta etc. Shopping when hungry can be a disaster :) Always end up with stuff I don't need but things that looked good at the time but typically don't eat.

Hi, kiran8. I crave for an Japanese dish. It consists of steak, chicken, grilled mushrooms, carrots, white rice with seasoned brown gravy. And the special sauce that they tend to use. It is so delicious. For lunch I may have a craving for a sub sandwich with every spicy and hot condiment that you can think of. Yumm!!! I have a half of a sub in the refrigerator right now.. I can't wait until I eat it!

Hello kiran8 me too often do carve for some fastfoods and other dishes whenever much hungry.Yeah mostly it goes by days in the week, as there are few day in which non-veg is not allowed.Well prefer to have both dishes, veg and non-veg alternatively in my meals. It also depends upon the place where am having it, at home mostly its non-veg and in outdoors its mostly in veg.Though i enjoy my food in many ways sometimes without any special dishes.Anyways keep it up with your meals and stay Healthy.Happy mylotting.

If I'm hungry, I don't really care much what I eat. I want something I like of course, but it doesn't matter much what. It can be bread, or maybe pasta or pizza or chicken. When I'm hungry I'm not very selective. When I just crave food because I have the munchies, it's either chocolate or chicken. Not at the same time, but maybe after eachother :-)

Since food is my only passion, I guess I crave for all kinds of tasty food from the exotic to the basic. All at the same time I can yearn from biryani to chilli chicken to pizzas to noodles to simple hot rice and daal with brinjar fry to steaming khichdi with ghee on top. Well, it does depend on the weather too and now that its winter going on, I’m craving for all hot food but khichdi tops the list.

Sometimes I do not feel like eating the same old cooking items at home. That time I feel like going to restaurant and eat chana batura or butter nan with stuffed capsicum or palak panner. If nothing of this sort is available then at least MASALA DOSA for which I am a slave.
