HE MADE IT the second time around...

Hey mylot friends, here i am again so happy and proud to share with you that my son, Angelo made it to the second elimination round of the spelling bee. just a week ago, i made a discussion about me receiving a letter from my son's teacher telling me about his qualifying the first elimination round of the spelling bee. this morning, after the third quarter recognition activity-- where both Angelo and his eldest brother received awards, was the 2nd elimination round of the spelling bee he again made it. he too made it to the math bee. i am feeling cloud nine for all these achievements my kids are getting. i am so proud of them and i hope angelo will make it to the championship round on the 21st of this month. for those who responded on my previous discussion related to this i would like to thank you for your prayers, wishes and support to my son. he felt the positive energies of your support and it helped a lot.

Hello there and congratulations! I know how happy you feel. My niece once competed in a quiz bee too. She made it through the first elimination, but sadly, she didn't make it through the second one. I'm glad your son made it, and I hope he will win the championship.

Hi Angela, Nice to hear from you again friend. It's okay. She's already a winner for making it to the first elimination round. So, how did she accept the result? i hope she's fine. Please tell her that i admire her for making it too in a quiz bee competition. Well, make it or not for the final round, Angelo will still be the champion for us. He will still be loved no matter what.

Hi friend, It is great. Congratulation. My parents are always proud of me when i was a child, because in that time, i was a good student and acquired a lot awards. My parents always post my awards on house wall to praise me, which in turn urge me to study hard. Thanks for your sharing.

Thanks Sutent. We are preparing now for the final round. Angelo is very determined about his goal in school and hopefully he'll make it to the finals. whatever will be the result he is already a winner for all of us since the time he started the spelling bee. parents will always be proud of their kids achievements. i understand you parents feelings...i can relate.

That is wonderful news to hear and you as a mother have every right to be proud of your children's achievements. So, what is there in the spelling bee for Angelo besides the pride of knowing that he is a very good speller? When I was in school I would qualify for things like this but I never got to the final round. It really stank to because the prize from these was always either scholarships or savings bonds to be used for college.
• Boston, Massachusetts
18 Jan 10
Hi Dorann, I don't know the prize yet. but just knowing that our son who has autism can make it --considering the fact that he's in his first year in the mainstream program/regular school, it's already a great prize for us. if ever he will make it- the prize will be a bonus. right now he's already the champion for us! thanks friend!
