As a student, I enjoy both my high school and college life and yet their are things which I like and dislike between the two. It is like an tug of war of opposing various interest which attract me while I highly despise the other interest, So far I am just standard average students and do participate in academic and curricular activities. I do well in terms of academic particularly in oral recitation, memorization and participating in slogan, drawing and collage contest. While, I am not totally incline to be active in extra-curricular activities, such as being a member of the varsity team, dance troupe, music club, book lover club, art club, homemaker club, cheering squad, history, religion club and so on. Despite of my hesitation to join those club it is a compulsory that each students should be a member of at least two club. So, I join book lover club and Art club, during my stay both in high school and college. Though, it is lot of fun during high school with lots of activities. I find that their are less freedom as the students are under the discretion of the teacher while in college their are more flexible as one could choose the time, subject load and select her favorites course. How about you, which do you enjoy most, studying in high school or college? Kindly shares your experience and explain the differences between the two? Which do you like most, high school or college life? thanks 1-15-10

Well, i do enjoy my studies in both college and highschool.. haha =D They have got different study environment, and also different sets of rules, frenz, freedom etc.. hehe ^_^ I like college for its strict rules, as majority of us find fun in breaking the rules and trying to be different.. lol =D But when it comes ot high school, what i like is having freedom to do what we like, as long as we attend classes.. haha =D However, too much of freedom can be boring at times too.. lol =D STill, i will go for high school life, because i prefer working to studying, and that's what i do, when i'm in high school.. lol =D

Yeah, and both taught about life experience be it confine only in the classroom from academic theory and some taught about the school of life experience outside the school which is better the other way around. Though, being qualify for a real jobs outside need a quality education with a certificate to be accepted in a good job. Though, in entirely it does not preempt as the ultimate basis for a person to be successful in his/her career . I am exactly the opposite of you as I have the black sheep attitude during my high school day as i am a rebel or like to challenge most of my teacher with due influence to of my other classmates. I find it too test and challenge my teacher patience when i am in 2nd to 3rd year it is the most confusing stage for me.. While it is only when I am in fourth year level that I become so serious. Then, during my stay in college I have more freedom which is likely the opposite of being a high school student since I am under a teacher adviser so all my behavior are monitor. Like if i am not interested in joining activities they are forcing students with lot of threats, because if i do not participate they would not sign my clearance slip or have deduction in grades. So their is no way to complain then. Unlike in college were volunteer to join any club i like without too much domination factor instill on every students. Likely with different environment have greatly develop a sense of different responsibility and taught about the nice things one could get form being educated.

High school is the best time of my life. I think being in high school is the most enjoyable moment for everyone, because when we were in high school we were old enough to make small decisions, which were not harmful and has very little effects for our lives but young enough not to take big responsibility for whatsoever. I really think people who wastes their high school days are fools who would one day regrets that they haven't live their life to the fullest. Some weeks ago I went back to my hometown and happened to go to my High School when my mother took my younger brother school report. I was struck with the sudden memories of old days and I just realized that I missed that moments badly. I just wished I have a time machine and went back to the moment I was young and free.

hi klaudine, yeah, and during high school is the start where one learn to be curious and explore all areas of her various interest. Many things could be experience where a student could enjoy lot of activities and hone her talents like singing, dancing and joining even as a cheerleader. Their is also plenty of ball games activities, and lots of parties. It is also the start where one could develop interest with the other genders, develop love and camaraderie at the same time. thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Hello there neelianoscet! Wow, I am glad that you have enjoyed your highschool and college life. Me too, I am more on the academic and curricular activities rather than doing the extra-curricular ones! As for me, I enjoyed college the most. During college, I find more freedom and learned new things. My college was in the city so I have to travel from home to the university and back. My parents were more lenient to me on going out, doing projects, over nights and out of towns. Unlike when I am in highschool, wherein it is just near our house so I am usually monitored by my mom and dad (well I understand that, you know parents usually do those things, and i am not really complaining ) It is like when I am in college, I discover the world says hello to me, unfolds right in my eyes and I an never the same again. And all these are positive for me. Most of all, my friends in college are somehow more interesting than what I have in highschool. My friends in college are wonderful, my parents know them, their parents know me and the others, (vice versa) I still have all of them until today even if we have graduated almost 5 years ago. We still go out, do catch up's and all. While I rarely get in touch with my highschool friends. I still see some of them, but some are gone, I don't know. So there. Thank you for the discussion. Enjoy the rest of your day.

hi myjanuary, yeah, they are the best time of my life that is why their are also many song dedicated to high school life as something unforgettable with lots of friends around that when graduation day comes most cry because they would all miss each friends company. That really the differences between college and highschool life as you already mention, college have more freedom since their is no permanent teacher assign and classes is shifting and one could even select which classes she would like to set in. I am happy you enjoy your college life and you meet many wonderful friends and keep still in touch with them, Those are the things which i truly miss and if ever given a chance to go back to school i would not hesitate as studying could be fun things to do as the mind is working at the same time not feeling stagnant. thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Well, me, i enjoyed my high school and college days too. I not so concious about my grade for as long as i pass the subject. I also study my lessons because i dont want to be last in the list but i dont pressure myself. It is good to study and have fun at the same time. For me, it is more healthy and more knowledge is being absorbed when learning is fun. Joining in extra-curricular activities is also enjoyable and enriching. It is also an outlet when academics gives a lot of pressure.

i enjoyed both of them but when i compare with this two , i enjoyed most in my school days, because i had a 10 members of gang, which could study well, play football, and make fun on other guys and of-course teachers also ...i am forerunner in my sports rather than studies..and my teacher took responsible on us more than others.my school teachers were well knowledge,i speak and learn English well by the effort of me and my teachers...so i enjoyed most in my schooling's.we go out together anywhere and we study and share everything.... but in my college i missed my schoolmates,i got new friends but i haven't got good teachers.they took class without any destination or any thing.. my school teachers are much more better than my college teachers.. i lost my fluency in English and the college teachers taught very badly that no one can understand it....

hi federalinux, Good things you enjoy both college and high school life as you seem very active both in extra-curricular activities. Having lots of friends is the key to enjoy both college and high school life as without presence of friends it would be quite boring to study and also with the absence of inspiration.thanks for sharing your experiences.

Woah! You're a member of a lot of clubs! I didnt join any clubs in college and it's not really required for us. In high school I only joined as a Peer Counselor at first because I think it would look good in my college application. My interest in being a Psychologist at that time also made me join as a Peer. I like my high school life more because Ive been with them longer. My high school classmates were also my classmates in elementary and kindergarten, some were even my classmates in nursery.^_^ So we've been through a lot and just grew up together which gives a more stronger bond. In college, I dont belong to a block section. So my classmates would change every semester depending upon the subject. Though, I have built a good friendship with a few people. These 4 people have been my friends since freshman orientation, up to now we're all together despite the non-block sections of our subjects. I still have not joined any clubs. I was about to but the club got disbanded, then I didnt go through joining the other clubs that I might be interested in. I just focused on the academics and free time with my friends.^_^

Both..those moments are THE MOST BEAUTIFUL moments..love life, study, activities etc..What i remember most during college was the moment we joined student`s protest against then president Suharto (It was triggered by the monetary crisis in 1997, reached its peak in 1998).I joined the demonstration once, but a few days before the president resigned, i didn`t join. i only followed news from TV and my friends..

i enjoyed my college life as I had a lot of fun memories there. I also gained so much knowledge about things which i did not learn during highschool. I also gained more friends which are more mateur and responsible in terms of taking care of our friendship. When I was in college, i get to do more responsible things and became more serious in life though i never forget how to make fun when i was in school or with my family and friends.

I haven't started college yet so I don't really know what that's like. I hated high school so much that I dropped out the beginning of my senior year because I was just sick of how fake it was. It wasn't really about learning but more like people on power trips favoring the people that they liked. I also found it hard to be motivated to study things I didn't want to learn. I personally enjoy studying on my own and actually do study pretty hard in my free time on my own. I've been studying chemistry pretty hard since I dropped out of high school because that's what I've been wanting to do for a while. My theory is that if I completely focus my attention on that right now I will be able to exceed better when I get to college.

While I was reading this I began to ask myself to which one I had so much fun and I have to say it would be high school. I exceeded in everything in terms of school and had tremendous fun with my good friends. I loved how small our group then and how things went with a few people. High school played a big part on who I am today thus I am thankful for the years I had with those people and every little thing that went with those 4 years. College was fun too but I had so many disappointments that comparing it to high school years are a bit far fetched.

I liked college, just the fact it had more flexibility. No more 9 to 3 classes for me so I was happy. Also the fact I didn't have to study courses I didn't want to as at my college we got to choose every class. Fun wise. I can't choose between high school and college as I enjoyed them both just in different ways. High school I got to interact with my friends who I have known forever and college was about meeting new people and having new experiences. SO I liked them both, just in different ways.

OK from hardworking question (about depression) we go back to easy go life, high school life if full of friends and funny ideas and the exploring of life is there. College years, ( yoh my wife here sitting beside is laughing) we got married in in college years, she got preggy and i did start working early while finishing my college degree. so College life has indeed prepared for the up coming task of LIFE. thanks for that question, it reminds us of cherished days.

hi neelianoscet! i enjoy my college life more than my highschool life. many because i have more friends in college and in fact we are still friends up to now. you can do most of the things you want during college than highschool because by that time your parents are trusting you more than before, though, you may not be 100% free. at this time, you learn how to be independent and more confident. its the time you started to dream and plan for your future career. although, there are more complications at this time still its the best part of my life.
