And are you a picky eater? Do you try to force your fussiness and pickiness on other people? Do you say ewwww when someone is eating something you don't like? This really drives me nuts when someone does this to me when I am eating. I am not a fussy person, and there are only a few things I don't like, and it does not bother me when someone eats something I don't like. So what about you or someone you know?

No I am not a picky eater. There are some things I like and some things I don't for example I can't stand any kind of sea food! I think it just smells so nasty! And I don't want to eat anything that stinks! But if ant one else wants to eat it I don't have a problem with it because my husabnd loves seafood but I myself just can't go there! But other than that I like most things. Another thing I will not eat is pork.

Nope, I am not a fussy eater. I love, LOVE, fruits and veggies. I don't eat a lot of meat. And I could care less what others eat as long as they try to force me to eat it. Everyone says, all you eat is rabbit food..you should eat "real" food, you don't eat "enough". Well, gee, I eat when I am hungry and I eat what I like. So, yep, it kinda drives me nuts, too!

I am not a picky eater for the most part. I will eat almost anything as long as it is prepared properly. I love to try new things, and I love going to restaurants that I have never been to before. My wife is a little less adventurous, though, and it makes it kind of hard for me to try things new when I take her out to eat. She is a little more picky about what she eats, but she is getting a little better about trying new places.

I am not really picky either, though there are a few things I don't care for, and the things I don't like are not really major everyday foods.

I use to be a seriously fussy eater with a very limited pallete when it came to food. These days I am more daring and will try anything once. I am definitely not one of those people who goes ewwww when someone eats something I don't like near me and generally ignore what they are eating. The only exception is when someone is eating peanuts because the smell makes me physically ill so tend to make my excuses and leave rather than make an uncomfortable fuss over it.

Congrats! I'm happy to hear you are trying new things. I can understand the peanut thing, sometimes things that smell can bother us, the smell of Lamb does that to me.

No, I'm not a fussy eater. I used to eat all the school-lunch I got. Apparently, the way other students behave, the lunch is revolting. In school, I ate whatever they served and I hate it when people just throw things out because they don't want to eat it. Outside of school, I do have a few things that I don't like to eat, and even if people are eating something I don't like it doesn't affect me. I do hate it when I'm eating something and other people are saying that it's gross or disgusting. It's all food, after all. . .

My one granddaughter always complains that the school lunch is nasty. I do believe that some of it is, at one point in time while I was driving school bus, I worked in the school lucnh room, and it was not always the best food, but hey there is a choice to eat school lunches, or have mom make you a PBJ sandwich.

Yes, I am a rather selective eater. I don't try and force my habits on others. So I ask the same that they do not force them on me. I know what I like and I eat it. If others want to eat things that I do not quite like, that is their business. Just count me out and do not push me into eating them.

I am not a picky eater. I will eat almost anything. But my husband is incredibly picky and he does that to me all the time! He will always make disgusted sounds and say "How can you eat that?" It gets annoying, so I know exactly what you mean!

Tell him everyones tastebuds are different, he likes certain things and so do you. And food taste different to everyone.
19 Jan 10
no, not really. There isn't much food out there that I dislike because when i eat sometime i think of what kind of nutrient my body might need by consuming this. Also i know for a fact that there are people out in the world that don't have enough to eat right now so i don't like to waste food.

I for one really try to eat healthy, matter of fact I drink molasses and milk becacue it is really good for you, but the taste requires some getting used to, and yes I know this is not a food, but still affects the taste buds.

I used to be a fussy eater. I never used to try new things, always afraid of not liking it or the food making me sick. But now, I'm a lot different. I have a friend that's a chef, and now I don't care at all. I'll jump into anything and try whatever someone puts in front of me.

There are foods I don't like, but I don't consider myself a picky eater. I will try almost anything, and like most things. My pet peeve is when people won't try things, especially if a friend or a host has made it. I think when someone takes the time to make food, it's a type of affection, and it should be met with gratitude and an attempt at liking the product! If the eater then doesn't like it, that's okay, as long as they were willing to try and find out and show respect and thanks to the cook!

I as well will try most things at least once. I am a cook in a retirement home, and it really gets on my nerves when someone says they don't like, perhaps a new recipe that I made, and they won't even try it. At least try it, and if you don't like it, that is okay, I can understand it, but just looking at it and snubbing your nose at it is just rude.

I wouldn't consider myself a picky eater at all. When I was younger there were certain things I always said that I didn't like but 90% of the time it was because I had never really tried it!!! When I met my husband he introduced me to so many new foods and I found out that I loved them. Now a days I'm willing to try just about anything within reason. My mom and my sister on the other hand are such picky eaters. They won't eat a lot of basic, normal things. I must take take after my dad. lol

When we are young there can sometimes be many things we don't like, but sometimes as time goes by our taste buds change. Humm I have often wondered about that. For instance when I was a kid I did not like blue berries, but last year I found I like them. I also found out I now like eggplant. Though there are certain things I will never like. Such as Salmon ( which I just did try again 2 weeks ago), and beets, crabmeat, duck, fig newtons, blue cheese. But the things I don't like are not everyday foods that affect other people. I think every once in awhile we should re- try things to see if our taste buds changed, because we may be missing out on something good. Plus it can all depend on how the food is made, and that can help with the fact if we like certain foods.

I am not a fussy eater, there isn't alot of things I don't like and I am always open to trying new things. Our 8 year old is extremely fussy and he is one of those that will have a commentary on what someone else is eating The other night he chose to eat in the kitchen rather than the dining room because he couldn't stand the smell of the broccoli th rest of us were having. I dont find it necessary to comment on anothers food choice, but I can't sit next to my mother-in-law if we are having steak, she eats her meat warm and I am a well-done girl..the sight of all the blood literally makes me ill and I can't eat my own meal if I have to sit where I can see her plate.

Yep, my son is/was the same way. He would NOT eat if I didn't make something he liked (macaroni and cheese). He literally would starve himself if it wasn't some kind of food that he liked (French Fries)...lol. Well, he is in college now and gaining weight. He must like SOMETHING there..lol Kids. I like most things, too. Not a lot of meat, but to each his own. PS...I LOVE broccoli...lol Tell your son that for me!

Hello Irishmist, Im afraid, I have to admit Im a fussy eater. By fussy, I mean that I like my foods to be prepared a certain way. For example, I like my pasta "all dente" Cant eat soft noodles. I wont go ewwww but I sure will think it lol. I dont like seafoods or any fish. Ive tried over and over but its a taste that just doesnt agree with me. So I keep trying with the foods I dont like but I wouldnt force anyone to eat or even try something they dont like. All taste buds are different to each person. PS: I dont think Ive ever met anyone who doesnt like ice cream or chocolate though lol.

I hear ya. I like my food a certain way as well, I agree with you on the al-dente pasta, I really hate soft mussy noodles. There are a few fish items that I really don't care for, salmon and crabmeat, but I mostly like most other kinds. But I will always give new foods a try. I hate fig newtons though. And I do know people who don't like chocolate, can you imagine that.

No because I know that there are some people out there who are starving and are in desperate need of food. I'm lucky to have any food go inside my stomach so I shouldn't be abusing this privilege that some people don't even get a chance to get.

Wow this is so true! We have all got to be lucky that we have food to eat. I know I am, and if I was starving I would even eat something I don't like, just to have food in my tummy.

I am, I don't, and I do. I hate eating certain things and will spend half an hour removing all of the nasty parts from my plate. When my dad worked at a restaurant a long time ago, they would make me a special margarita pizza without any tomatos on it because I hate them.

Yes I know people that will take things out of the dish that they don't like, but at least like you, they are eating the rest of the dish.
