well to say the truth there are a lot of my friends who are really rich.they spend a lot too on different things and also enjoying with girls all the time...they say that they are really happy with their life and evnjoying it to the fullest just because they have money they can do all these things..so it means that happiness comes only if you have lots of money right??thoase who does not have a hot moneybag can never be happy??is it??

I understand your question here perfectly. Sometimes, there tend to be people around us with extra means and they can try to show off in front of us. Know what you mean exactly. I prefer to keep quiet whenever I'm rich even, because I don't feel the need to communicate to every other person out there that I am and needing to show off in that sense. That's an instance. I think not all rich people are like that, but there are some definitely. Certainly think that happiness doesn't come from money only. Good topic here.

Agrees with both of you. With the simplicities in life, that includes food, great health and happiness with our love ones. If there are no these elements at all, then there's really no point in trying to be happy and live in harmony. Medicine and food equals to wealth that are there for us to survive as well as great health. Let's strive for equality in everything.

Zed dont you think those who feel the need to show it off are not truly happy? Happiness lies in much simpler things. :) But absence of minimum for food clothing shelter and medicine is sure way to be unhappy.

well you are absolutely right about that.thats the minimum which a person needs, somebody who does not have this will surely be unhappy but that does not mean you have to show ooff that you are happy....it will come automatically and if you show off then the person to whomw you are showing off will eventually understand that

There is proverb in india.''Paisa bhagwan nahi hai , lekin bhgawan se kam nahi hai"[meaning Money is not God , but its importence in material life is not less then God.].

Hi abhi (I am too confused about the number of times that is to be repeated). I think happiness comes from getting what you desire. There is a satisfaction level normally, which you dont notice, but a step beyond is happiness, which is slightly more than what you desire. Therefore, I sing, and people at mylot say my god, you sing so well! he he. I would be happy. :) Did it cost me anything? he he. Money buys you satisfaction and that is mostly the route to happiness. But that alone is not the route. :)

No offence, but i am happy to tell you, that no matter how much money you have, it can never ever buy happiness. Yes, so your friends have money and actually wasting it on girls and stuff, they do not really need. What do you think will happen the day, they do not have so much money anymore? Will the girls still like and be with them. Will they still buy all those things? No, unfortunately, most friends dissapear as the money does. Never make such a misstake about money. Have a nice. day.

Happiness is not measured on how much you have.It comes from the heart. The essence of being happy can be visualized on the person as he smiles.Answer the question, what makes you happy and you will realized that money isn't alone the reason why you are happy but the person around you who makes you happy.

For one so young, you have understood the word quite well! There will be periodic amendments to this view of course, with you wondering whether your belief is right or wrong, but eventually we all land at this. Trust me, I have been there, done that. :)

Well, that depends on what they perceive on happiness. If they believe that money can grant them happiness, then they'll feel if they have no money then they'll not be happy. Money is a means, not an ends. If money is your aim in this world, even if you have billions, you'll still won't feel enough. Even truth is subjective when it comes to emotion. How would you know you are happy? I say you would cherish the happiness when happiness goes away from you. I believe money can make you happy, but that happiness are temporal.

i also feel that money is not the only thing in the world, there are so many other things which are more important than money and which can give you happiness..even more happiness than what only money can give you

I'm with deenaly. Happiness is subjective and it's only when one sits down and truly explores what it is that makes them happy that it is possible. Money definitely provides more freedoms to experience more things that require it, but whether or not it makes one happy is another thing.

Yes, I do think people are happier with a lot of money. The problem is how much is a lot? To some $60,000 is a lot of money and to other $1 million is not enough. One has to find their comfort zone and work toward making that attainable goal work.

I definitely don't think that happiness comes from money alone. If that was the case then I would never be able to say that my family is happy, and we are quite happy for the most part. We will never be rich unless by some miracle we were to hit the lottery. However, we find joy and happiness in the little things that we do. We spend time together and we do things that we all have a good time with. Granted, we don't go out and blow money on things that we don't need, but we have a good time spending time with each other.

They might be happy now, because of the money they have, but what if they wake up one day with nothing ? For me happiness is all about true love, love to God,family, husband especially to your children., though we can't live with out money, but still there are things that money can't buy which is true love and true happiness. The happiness that is genuinely satisfying is accompanied by the fullest exercise of our faculties and the fullest realization of the world in which we live. Happy mylotting

I think we should ask first what actually happiness is. yeah, some people measure their happiness with how much money they have, or how many houses, cars or wives they posses, but some people measure their happiness with something they could reach or fulfilled, such as they could make happy people around them or could publish some novels or even just big smile to everyone. it means happiness is so relative for one another. but for me, my happiness is on how well i could be a mother and a wife..

I don't think so. I think money is just one of many medias to get happiness. With money, we can do everything or buy everything that make us happy. But i think it can't buy the happiness itself. Money is just a media to get something that can make us happy. Imagine if in the world, there is only money, nothing else. Will u be happy??? So it doesn't mean that poor people can't be happy. And for me, the true happiness is when we can be together with people we love, such as family and friends. Money is only used to fulfill our needs. And when we get all of our needs, we will be satisfy and feel happy with that.

of course no. not all people can beh happy with money in their life. but if i do have much money, ill make it very useful, like opening a restaurant, not exactly donating it to the poor but gave donations that they need, esp basic needs. im happy with that, seeing someone smile, even if i had to earn those money with blood and sweat..

Ohhh! Money can make me happy I admit but happiness does not come only from money. There are times when I have money but I am not happy because of some sad circumstances. In my case there is only one true source of joy that does not fade and that is the Lord. May I share this nice song which I am teaching the children in my Sunday School. This is the full expression of my heart and this is what I think happiness is all about. Happiness is to know the Savior, Living a life within His favor, Having a change in my behavior, Happiness is the Lord. Happiness is a new creation, Jesus and me in close relation, Having a part in His salvation, Happiness is the Lord. Real joy is mine, no matter if teardrops start; I've found the secret, it's Jesus in my heart! Happiness is to be forgiven, Living a life that's worth the living, Taking a trip that leads to Heaven, Happiness is the Lord, Happiness is the Lord, Happiness is the Lord! Yes dear with Jesus in my heart I can be happy even without abundance of money.

I don't think that money is the only source of happiness. how can you be happy if you are ill and your money can't do something to ease your pain? you know, my only wish is to get well.. if that happens, i'd be the happiest person in the whole world.

Whether we like it or not, many people will be happier if they have lots of money in their wallet. Happiness in materials things that is. Happiness brought by money includes buying materials things that we usually don't have. But thats only the one side of the coin. The other side is that people find happiness not on money but on spiritual things. And others find happiness on other peoples care and love.

I believe it depends on what the person values and what makes her/ him happy. It is true that partly having money can make the person happy. You can go anywhere you want to go and buy everything you want. However, happiness does not rely only on money. I know some people who are not happy with their life even if they have all the material needs they need. They don't have anyone to share with their blessings. For me, I am happy whenever I m with the people I love and with my friends. I don't need a lot of money to be happy. As long as I can buy my needs and have some extra for Savings and luxuries that will be enough for me.

I will never accept this concept. There are issues beyond money. Most of the time we have heard that once we get lot of money the happiness before we had in the family have been lost.If we get a lot of money then we will be in more stress as how to safeguard it and increase it more. A child's smile can't be bought using the money. Our parents expect their children to spend a day with them. They don't expect money instead. I would like to share a forward that I got recently. One day a mom came home late from her work.she was very tired and frustrated. Her son was waiting outside the door. When they entered the home the son asked his mom "How much do you earn per hour?". The mom got angry and shouted at him that he don't need to know the answer for this. He repeated the question and the mom told in anger "It is 50rs.". After a few minutes the son asked his mom "Can I borrow rs25 from you?". The mom went to an extreme anger and shouted at the son.He went to his room. After some time she got cooled down and thought that there would be some reason for her son to ask money because he usually do not ask all the times. She went to his room and gave him the money. The boy was happy and took out some more money from his drawer and started counting it.Mom got very angry and asked "If u had money already why are you asking me more?". The Boy replied "Mom here is 50rs.Plz do take it and come home one hour early tomorrow.I like to have dinner with you."Mom was very much sad in not giving her concentration to her child. Check out the attitude of the child.Money is not everything.

Money cant buy everthing, even happiness. You may think that you are happy with alot of money, until everyone you know is suddenly your best friend and wants some of it lol. Happines comes from doing what you love, the money is a bonus(ideally).
