Have you seen the most recent Dod Whisperer? Daddy is such a specialdog. I have noticed that his is looking old now. I saw on tv the other day that Daddy is 15. My Golden Retriever Shunk was 16 years 1 month years old when she passed. They are like family... especially when they have been with you so long you have a hard time remembering when they weren't there. Why can't they live forever?? Doyou have a pet? xoxooxxoxo

I have three cats right now. Creamery is six years old, Princess is seven, and Tiger is thirteen years old. Tiger has several health issues. Creamery is at the vet right now, having his mouth and teeth checked. Princess, whom I nearly killed with flea meds when she came to my house is a beautiful, healthy ebony black shorthaired animal. Her fur is like velvet it is so soft, and she never even seems to get a flea. She is a mighty hunter, who also knows the value of a nap.

Yes I do, and she is beautiful. I try to keep her in as much as possible around Halloween, though.

Yep, have several.. 4 dogs and 14 cats. I have lost 3 dogs and it is never easy. My old man was 2 months shy of his 15th birthday when I had to put him down. He was a Malamute/Lab Mix and the best dog ever! I also lost one to cancer she was only 12. They are never here long enough!

Well you know I do and always have, many a time I wonder to why they do not live for ever But then I think to myself maybe because there are others that need a loving Home it broke my Heart when I had to have our Lab Max put down due to cancer but then a few Months later Gissi appeared in my Life because I decided to look at all the Dogs in the Kennel so I guess that our Babies teach us Love and care

Our Jessie lived to be in her 20s. That is very old for a dog. It is sort of like us living to be over 100 years old. We had to put her to sleep as she was getting convulsions, as well as being blind, having shakes, and was in pain. We missed her very much and of course, that spoiled us from having another dog. I do watch the Dog Whisperer and it is one of my favorite non fiction shows.

I have an invalid husband to take care of. But somehow I would love to get another dog. Maybe latter on, but not now.

Nice to have you re-surface, raydene...missed you! In the past 3 years, I lost both of my "little best-friends" both at 15+...and was told by the vet, that for little people, that I had been blessed with their longevity! Even tho' I have another little friend, "Brew"..a JRT, there still is a big hole that those two boys filled. My cat "curlew" will be 15 in May...but he hasn't grown out of the kitten stage yet...LOL! I still catch myself expecting to see my two other dogs, sometimes! Take care...and Cheers!

Hi Raydene, I have two bearded collie's, they are brother and sister and are 13 now-I realise that they will have to go in a few years time and will be devasted as you say they are family and it will be so hard when they are no longer on the earth plane with me, but am preparing myself. It isn't a nie thought but it is a fact of life and both my dogs are healthy and fit, the brother thinks he is a geriatic teenager and still gets up to michief, he has his own way of showing you what he wants and opens and closes doors even amongst others there will never be another dog like him-his sister is just like a lap dog..though she is fairly big for that, but continually digs holes in the garden and when told off she laughs at you or if she has done something wrong...they are amazing, and so intelligent. But when their time comes I know i will mourn for either one as much as the other, probably for months on end, they are mine and always will be I love them and they are my familyespecially as my children have grown up got their own lives and I am on my own. Hugs LoLo xoxo
