WAAAHHHHH!!! Seven or MORE inches of snow expected tomorrow!

Too Much!!! - This was taken after the 32 inches fell. Now, we're going to get at least another 7 inches on top of this! I'm SOOOOO tired of snow!

I'm so sick of snow! On January 31, we got about 8 inches of snow. On February 2 we got 4 more inches. On February 5-6, another 32 inches. Now, only 3 days after that monster storm, on February 19, we're expecting at least another 7 inches. I'm seriously thinking of packing up and moving south... WAY south! I want the tropics!!! Is there anyone else ready to lose their mind because of so much snow? If you've had a lot this year, are you enjoying it? If you are enjoying it, is that because your mind has already snapped so all you do is giggle and frolic? I'm almost there! I want palm trees! I want warm beaches! I never want to see snow again... EVER!!! FREE SNOW for anyone who wants to come here and pick it up. One condition: you MUST drive it far, far away from here. Any takers?

We are getting another 6 to 10 tomorrow. I cannot imagine having as much as you are talking about. We are just getting the snow from Friday and Sat. cleaned up enough to get around. Stay warm. I don't want any of yours, sorry!

Well, I really can't say I blame you. 6 to 10 is plenty! I hope you stay safe and warm. Did you make it to your son's doctor's appointment the other day?

I did and home again before it started, thank goodness. I am always afraid of the weather, especially when he is in the vehicle with me. If I would go in a ditch and could not get the ramp down, I am not sure how we would get him out.

I hope we never have another winter like this again, for everyone's sake. I just got an alert telling me that we are under a winter storm warning (changing it from a "watch") and can expect 6 to 12 more inches. Seven plus didn't sound as bad as hearing that "12" on the end!

We've gotten a lot more snow than we normally do here in WV and I've about had it myself. We're working on digging out today. Some of the snow is melting but of course like you said they're calling for more snow tomorrow and I'm done. I'm tired of having to dig out from underneath feet of snow instead of an inch or two. I'd rather have an inch or two of snow.

Oh, I'd give anything to just have an inch or two! I wouldn't even be talking about more snow if that was all they were predicting. This has been an absolutely insane winter, hasn't it? I won't be doing any more shoveling, either. I got out there yesterday to help my husband so he wouldn't be snowbound and could get to work today but I'm really paying for it today! I have fibromyalgia and sometimes forget that I just can't do things like I used to.

Send it to a friend of mine in Pensylvania, who loves it. She and her daughter think the snow is just the best dang thing in the world. I'm in Canada, and I'm sick and tired of snow. I need to move some place warm, near an ocean, where it never ever ever snows. Maybe I'll do that when I win the big one.

Wow! That is an extreme change! I can understand why you hate snow so much! I've never seen this much snow before and am hoping that it will never be this bad again so, hopefully, you won't have to go through this again. I'm in northern Virginia, in Winchester. West Virginia is to the north, west AND east of us. So, we're neighbors! You've probably had the same amount of snow as we have here. I'm from Maryland where we've had snow every winter my entire life and even I am sick of it this year! I hope, for everyone's sake that we never have a winter like this one (or worse) ever again. Take care and stay warm! Spring WILL come... eventually.

I normally LOVE snow but it has ruined my last 2 weekends in a row. The first weekend I was going to celebrate my birthday. I had to cancel because of the snow so I rescheduled to the following weekend where it snowed AGAIN!! Grrrrrrr on top of that the kids were out of school extra days getting on my nerves LOL.....I was so ready for school to start back up. (I love my babies though :)

Well, happy belated birthday! I'm so sorry you got snowed in for your birthday. My son's birthday is January 26th and I can't count all the years we've had to postpone his birthday party because of bad weather. He made it ahead of all this snow by just a few days this year. I can understand exactly what you mean about being home with the kids when they have snow days. I went through enough of them myself. I love my boys, too, but you can only take so much of the little rug rats before you're screaming for adult interaction with no little ones around. LOL Where are you? Are you going to be in this next storm?

I'm in Virginia, too, up in the northernmost part, Winchester. We got slammed hard last weekend as opposed to only around 8 inches the weekend before. I can't ever remember so much snow in one year, not even when I was a kid and the snow always seemed so much deeper than it really was. I hope you don't get much from this storm. I'd say I hope WE don't get much but that would just be wishful thinking at this point. I know we're going to get slammed. They updated the total amount now to between 9 and 12 inches. Sigh!

Thanks. I decided not to reschedule but will probably do something more private with a few friends when this weather starts acting right. This is the first birthday that I havent been able to celebrate because of the weather. (Well except for last year...I had just had a baby) I have a 1 year old son and a 10 year old daughter lol. I am in VA. the snow we had this weekend wasnt as bad as it was last weekend. We still didnt get anything near what DC had. I am SO glad I dont live there. I am so done with the winter! lol

Scared? I'm not scared of snow, I'm SICK of snow! We've had too much. We shovel off our cars, our sidewalks, our driveways, then it snows again and we have to shovel again. Then, it snows again, and again. People are missing time from work because they can't get to it, the State is way over-budget in the snow removal costs, merchants are losing money because people can't get out to shop, the list goes on. I made a typo in the discussion and the date for the next snow is tomorrow, February 9, not the 19th. Sorry. We've been getting snow every few days and in only a week and a half will have had over four FEET of snow fall on us! I live in an agricultural State. There are a lot of farmers here, cattle farmers, chicken farmers, etc. All this snow is hurting them, too. I have no problem driving in snow, as long as the roads are passable. I actually like a little snow... at least I did before this year!

We've had enough of our own freezing weather this year, gabs. Much more than normal. It did manage to get up to 37F today, which surprised me. It wasn't supposed to get above freezing until after tomorrow. So, we did have some melting today. It looks like the snow we got Friday/Saturday is down from 32 inches to about 28 inches. I'd say that, in another 5 or 6 weeks, it should be all melted! Geez, I should have started my gardening with all this melting going on. LOL

hi marti. tamara would like to have some of our weather. it seems that not only in america that snow is visible, wind is so cold. i said that if we can only exchange weather, even for a short time. what i can offer you is a picture of how it looks, the weather we have now. i wish i can have some of the those snow. to at least lessen the burden of getting rid of it, shovel them off the garage, off your car. i know the kids will be so delighted if they see snow. they will surely be playing with it, just like the way they play with the waters and the sand on the beaches we have here. is this really how it should be? after we had rainy storm, now you have snow storm. we had floods, and you have snow.

Hi neil. Tell Zayzay that his Auntie Marti would LOVE to be playing with him in the water there! Hopefully, sometime this year, I'll be able to. My husband calculated how much snow we shoveled (in pounds) when we had the last big snowstorm. He initially said we shoveled about 1,700 pounds of snow. But, he only multiplied 3 feet (the height of the snow) by 70 feet (the length of our driveway and parking area). He forgot to measure the width of the driveway. We shoveled about 7 feet wide all the way to the road. So, he multiplied 1,700 by 7 and that's how much weight we moved: 11,900 pounds of snow, almost 6 tons! I didn't shovel much of it, but I know now why my muscles are hurting so badly right now! I won't be shoveling any of this new snow. No way! I know that your kids would really love to be here right now. Except for it being so cold, that snow is like a big, frozen playground for kids! This snow would be over Zayzay's head! Once this newest storm ends, I'll take another picture of it and post it here.

I'm also very sick of the snow. We're supposed to get about a foot or more of snow tomorrow night into Wednesday. I think the snow from the weekend was enough. I was kidding around this morning saying that I'm going to book a flight to Florida. I would love to be on some island right now. How about we pack up and move to Bermuda for the next 8 weeks or so?

According to the news yesterday...huge industrial-sized scoops of snow are being flown in from central provinces, in an effort to supply Vancouver's Whistler Mountain Olympic site. Due to the fair weather conditions they've been experiencing, it has basically left the year-round ski mountain totally devoid of snow.....a completely rare and unusual occurrence. Also, we here in Toronto, have had very little snow thus far; something highly unusual for this city to experience. At this time during the season, WE should be under the same snow conditions that you are suffering from.....and that would be "normal" for us. But so far, only a light dusting has occurred. Sidewalks and streets are completely dry, and temperatures are mildly above seasonal. My point here, is that for two years running now, weather conditions seem to have somewhat "reversed". Even other countries and places that are usually warm or have snow at this time of the year, are experiencing the same kind of crazy weather. There's no use in blaming it on the Russians anymore, even they are getting the same kind of crap too! So...if you ask me, I think it's probably the aliens that are fooling with our weather. They were never really into the Olympics anyway. As far as I know...ET went home, and left us with this mess to figure out on our own. cdrxo

Just a slight correction here, the SNOW is being trucked in from the Coquahalla Mtns...and the sunshine ski area, on the Hope Princeton Highway...about 150 miles from Vancouver and then is air=-lifted up the Mountain (Cypress) with helicopters! We have plenty of Mountains in B.C., with 30+ feet of snow...we do NOT have to truck it in from CENTRAL provinces! Whistler has OVER a 30 foot base of snow, with snow continuing constantly. It is CYPRESS Mountain, just on the outskirts of Vancouver that does NOT have SNOW! There is NOT a question of the WHistler venue..it has more than it's share of snow! I live 14 miles from Vancouver! Cheers!

Hi mentalward, I feel your pain. I'm tired of it also but when I look at the alternative I'll keep it. I just moved back to Ohio from SC. South is nice but they don't have the 4 seasons like we do in the north east. They go from winter which let me tell you 30 degrees can still be bone chilling when your that close to the ocean. Straight into summer and the humidity they can keep. The hurricane and tropical storms Yuck. I don't like being snow bound anymore than the next person, I actually get cabin fever, but after 8yrs down there I'll stay right where I am. I'll keep digging myself out for the couple months. I know it will go away and warmer days are ahead with flowers and trees blooming, birds singing and children laughing etc.. So I'll make the most of it. We are expecting another 6-8" maybe more on top of our already 8". Which has just started. Gotta admit its pretty until the cars and such go through it.

Southern NM would have been a better choice for you, it doesn't get humid and like SC there's little to no winter for the most part. Some years there's actually some snow which freaks everyone out but what 2" of the stuff compared to what you're talkin about.

I can understand you, I was born and raised in the Caribbean region, and I move to New York 2 years ago, and the snow situation has always been something that I hate, also the cold weather is horrible, but I do am sick of this amount of snow this year, we are also waiting here for around 8 inches of snow, I know kids love it, but I personally hate it, my car probably is going to be buried under a lot of snow, so I would have to shovel a lot of snow. I would love to move south but I can't, my job and my fiance are here. So I can't move, I guess I would have to make peace with this cold weather and the snow.

I thought of building an igloo. We certainly have more than enough snow here to build one, plus an entire snow family to go in it! But, remembering my age, I decided it best not to. It sounds like you had a lot of fun, though. I remember building an igloo when I was MUCH younger, although I doubt any eskimos would haved wanted to live in it. It was a bit small, lopsided and didn't last too long before it collapsed, but it was great fun. Take it easy in all this snow!

I just looked at the radar and it looks like it's going to reach us tomorrow morning, as expected. We're in the northernmost part of Virginia. I'll definitely be coming for a visit, once I can get dug out from all this! They just updated the forecast to a warning from a watch and said now it's 6 to 12 more inches. Earlier, the most was supposed to be nine inches. At this point, though, even one more inch is too much. Who knows? I might just fall in love with Florida and want to stay. There's one advantage that I don't have here, aside from not getting snowbound and that is I could grow my tropical fruits! I adore tropical fruits and they're so expensive here. We've paid as much as 75 cents for one orange! I know we'd have a lot of great times together, that's for sure!

Hey MW! I feel so bad that you have gotten hit with all that snow! Last weekend we were supposed to get a little tiny bit and we got not even a flake and the weatherpeople were apologizing for making a mistake!lol Now this latest storm doesn't seem to intend on missing NY! But, we still don't know if we will get 4-6-12 inches! It's going to be a surprise! But, the weatherpeople promise that this time it won't be another "phantom storm"! Should we thank them? I don't think so! If we had gotten what you did I would be insane by now too! I hope that the snow misses you this time! When it comes to those numbers there just isn't anywhere left to put the stuff! We haven't had totals like that in years and when we did they didn't know what to do with it all! The rivers were flooding with all the dumping of the snow!

Hi Opal! Yeah, there's talk around town about where to put all the snow. Snow plows can't just push it aside on the main roads since there's so much of it. They have to put it in dump trucks and dump it. We have a lot of open land around here but it's all privately owned. The town doesn't own a lot of open land to just dump this snow. I have the feeling you're going to get a bit more than a dusting this time. From the way I'm seeing it, the northeast is going to get hit much harder than we are this time. I don't envy you, but I'm sure the kids are going to love it! Stay safe and warm!

Hi Marti, my son will take a bit of snow off your hands but it would probably be melted by the time it gets here. We can see some snow on the mountains, it looks lovely. Look on the bright side, you can send hubby out with a shovel and he may well get lost. I've got beaches but it's much too cold for them to be any use. I can offer you thick mist if you like.

Hahaha! We get enough thick mist here, living in the mountains. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's fog or a low cloud. You know, with the proper refrigeration, that snow would reach you. Of course, it might be a bit cost intensive to ship it so far. I wish we could give this snow to Vancouver for the Winter Olympics. They've been trucking in snow because they haven't had much at all and here we are with all this stuff we don't want. Maybe, with enough really big fans aimed toward Vancouver... hmmmm...

Can I come with you? I'm in the NYC area and supposed to be moving on Thursday...I'm just praying that the movers are able to come - especially since I have to be out of my apartment by the 12th! I'm not even sure what to do. With just 3-5 inches they roll up the sidewalks and close everything down around here. Now, they're calling for 10+ inches and I'm not sure whether I should call my landlord, the power company, the cable company, my new job, and the rest of the world to push back my move a week. And what's worse? I'm moving to Ohio, the home of lake effect snow. Yuck.

I sure hope you love snow! I don't know what to tell you. From what I've been seeing, this storm should be affecting Ohio, New York and everywhere in-between. Maybe your best bet would be to call the movers tomorrow morning and see what they have to say about it. It could be that they won't be working that day but you never know. The snow could be all plowed, shoveled and out of the way by Thursday. That's cutting it pretty close, though. I moved right after a bad ice storm where ice was all over the roads, sidewalks, everywhere, but I was moving myself. It was totally my call. It wasn't pleasant, though. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone. But, I think the roads should be okay by Thursday. Whatever happens, I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a warm, safe move.
