What do you aim for?

A weight? A pant size? A certain look? When I began losing weight I had a size and weight in mind. I wanted to be back where I was before my twins were born, which was about 140-150. After awhile I changed that goal. I remember even then I thought I was a little chubby and could stand to lose a couple pounds, so now my goal is to get to about 130. Mostly I'm just going for a look though. I'll stop trying to lose weight when I'm happy with the way my body looks. If that happens at 150 (which it might due to muscle mass) then I'll be happy. What is your goal?

Well, being more than twice your age I plan to lose until my face begins to sag - that is when I will stop dieting!Seriously, I do hope to lose 30lbs, I think that my body can handle that shock but possibly nothing more than that. Will be absent from mylot for a few days - going into our main city to get some tests done. Blessings and keep at it.

Just take it slow and steady and you'll be fine. Every pound you lose will prove to be a gain in one way or another... more years on your life, more energy to get through your day, more self esteem and happiness. It's amazing what a little weight loss can do for you.

It's taken me 13 days to lose just about 4 and a half pounds. But you are right - I do feel better and put more blond streaks in my hair! I love it! However I can now do 15 mins of aerobics as to when I first started I could only do 2 mins so more weight will fall off as I exercise for longer periods but have to do the exercises carefully and not for too long.

That is awesome! I know when I first started it was hard to get through a 20 minute work out... now I can work out for like 2 hours straight, and the only reason I stop is because the child watch only let's me leave the kids in there for 2 hours! Granted most days I do less. I don't get physically tired anymore, that's my point. I am loving how I look. I finally bought a pair of jeans that fit properly, and I put them on on Saturday, and I felt so wonderful and sexy. It's a great feeling.

Basically I aim to be able to fit in a certain pair of jeans I have that I used to be told I looked great in...and I want to get back into them...which also means I have very many goals..not just one...I feel that I should have many goals so I don't lose the site of the main goal.. like a goal is 10 pounds in a certain amount of time.. and get rewarded for reaching that goal in that time..something small...but something I realllllly enjoy to make me fill it is worth it.. like one time I had goals and when I reached them I had my hair cut and styled...then the next goal..was a hair color change...then some new makeup...a new perfume..things like that..even a book...I sincerely hope with all my heart you reach your goal..and be happy with yourself once you make it..

Yes, I know how that is..been there so many times and got discouraged because I felt I wasn't losing fast enough although I was losing at a healthy pace. When I lost down 75 pounds my weight loss become snail loss..lol 2 pounds a week no matter what I tried..but then I was also gaining muscle mass..so I guess it was a good trade off but still at times in a low spot/depression it can make a big different in attitude to lose more then you expect or lost what you expect..

I also set up little goals along the way. I have weekly goals, monthly goals, an over all goal. I don't always reach the weekly goals, and sometimes I don't make the monthly ones either, but I don't let it get me down. I remind myself that I'm still doing good, just not as good as I'd hoped. I still lost pounds, just not as many as I'd wanted. Plus I have to realize that I'm not going to lose it as fast now as I did 50 lbs ago. I don't have as much to lose now, so where as 3 months ago I could lose 5 lbs a week, now I can only lose 2 lbs a week.

I am trying for a size - not weight. I know that working out makes you gain muscle which is heavier than fat so its a good way to get your hopes crushed. I started out at a size 28 in October. I am now a size 20 and I hope to be a size 14/16 by May for my graduation and the celebratory cruise afterwards. I want to look better than I ever have been before. Good luck with your weight loss. Don't loose hope - you can do whatever you set your mind to!

A 28? Wow! Congrats on getting down to a 20! I was in a 20 when I started and am now in a 10/12. Good luck in reaching your goal by graduation.

I am for an energy level. That takes more dedication then just a look or a weight, and remember the hardest part of it, is maintaining the weight once you achieve it. I appreciate you.

The energy level seems to come with the weight loss and working out... but yes it is hard to be energetic everyday! Sometimes I think it's more of a mind set. I mean no one really wants to hop out of bed and go run 5 miles, but you force yourself to because you have a goal in mind, and once you've done it it feels great.

I want hop out of bed and run 5 miles, but I would have a heart attack...I should work on my mindset there for sure. It all starts with what you believe of yourself. Once you change your believes of yourself, any thing is possible. I appreciate you.

For me, I try to aim for the little goals and then when I hit one of those goals I want to reevaluate and see where I am and then go for the next little goal. Right now my goal is to get down to 200 lbs (I'm getting there, slowly but surely), there was a time in my life that I was up to 300 lbs, so I really want to hit that 200 mark to see how I look. I believe that my ultimate goal is to get to 150, but I won't know for sure until I get there and see how I look.

I would not be capable of doing it slowly. I think I'd quit if I didn't see results. Seeing the results is what keeps me motivated to keep going with it. But I'm an all or nothing kind of person... I can't do anything if I'm not going all out!

I think I have a number of short-term goals now, but I'll just mention some. I aim to save some money to buy something for my birthday, which for me is kind of expensive. I really want to have that gadget! Haha. I also aim to pass all of my courses this semester. I want to have the entire summer vacation all mine, so I really can't afford to have summer classes. I already have plans for summer, you know, and I don't want all of it to come to waste like last year. GAH. Haha. Well, that's some of it. Take care! :)

I haven't really thought about it much yet. I would like to get in a healthy weight range for my height. So that puts me at anywhere between 133-156 according to weight watchers. I'd be happy with anything in that range or even a little above I guess. I just want to be in better shape. Right now I get winded walking up our steps. I want to be able to run and play with my kids for more than 5 minutes. If i can accomplish that I'll be happy.

When I did it, I had a target weight in mind. But I also knew that target weight corresponded to a certain dress size. And I got down to that size, but to my surprise, things didn't fit quite the same way, especially around the bust. Some of the weight gain there didn't come off...

I am still about 20 lbs from my original goal weight, but I'm already in my original goal size... seems weird. I don't think I am as thin as I once was, but I'm able to fit into the clothes I once wore. I'm still confused about it. Normally I'd say it's muscle, but as I said, I don't look as thin. Maybe clothing sizes changed in the past 8 years, lol.

I'm 135 right now. I would like to be 125 or less. I am aiming for 125 as my first goal. I gained all this weight when I quit smoking. Actually I got ip to 160 which is huge for a shorty like me. It sucks, but better to have a few extra pound and not smoke. If I could, I would like to get back to a size 4. I don't know if it is possible at my age.

Hey kats! I think whatever you feel is a good weight for you is fine! Whatever you are comfortable at is what you should be aiming for! You are doing a wonderful job and you should be very proud of yourself! I was never good at dieting and I am a yo-yo with my weight! I lose some, gain and back and forth! If I get upset I lose, or if I am upset sometimes I gain! So with me there is no set pattern! If I look in the mirror and take a really good look and get upset with what I see then I will do something about it, if I can!

I was always a yo yo dieter too. I just happened to get the right kind of inspiration to make me want to stick with it this time.

My goal before was to reach a certain weight, but then dieting and walking the treadmill really turned out badly for me. Yes, I lost the weight, but I lost muscle mass as well, and I ended up with a lot of flab. So, I started working out and eating healthy -- more fruit mostly and I cut down on junk food, soda, and sweets. My goal right now is to rebuild the muscle mass I lost and getting a nice fit look to my body. I think this is a better goal because I actually stopped obsessing over how much I weighed and instead focused on more positive goals.

Looking at the advert which is being shown to me next to your discussion it would be a sick pack like the bloke has got. I have changed my viewpoint on losing weight as I also had a target weight I was aiming for. But now I just want to fit into a certain size of jeans and not worry about what weight I am, partly because reaching it is probably going to be quite unrealistic but also because I have put on more upper body muscle in the last few months and don't mind being heavier if it is muscle.

My goal is weight loss. I want to lose 30 more pounds. So far I have lost about 15, but I haven't weighed myself in a while. I have lost 15 pounds since a little after Thanksgiving so I think I am doing pretty well. I have lost inches mostly, but don't know how many because I don't have a tape measure.

I am not overweight, and I am in good health. However, I would like to gain a muscle or two. These days, I've been working out a lot. I do it not for a nice body shape, but merely for exercise.

well i like eating junk food and due to which i have regular stomach upsets,my weight has also gone higher. So i would have less of junk food and try to focus on fruits and stuff like those.Well saying in a broader perspective i would like to respect my elders and be regular to my work.I think these are the things that i would aim for.

Hmm me I aim to gain some weight cuz I'm little bit under weight and I don't want to be skinny all the time, I want to buff and and big but my problem is that I have some problems gaining weight even I eat a lot of food rich in protein and such maybe its because my metabolism is fast that's why I'm so skinny and weak and my body have a hard time getting big. I want to have that fighters body strong and tough so I could protect myself from the people who harm other people. ^ ^

Well looks-wise, just to be "better" than about 80% of the people. I don't require to be perfect, but I believe it's all in comparison hahah. I really don't have weight to lose (I weight 85 pounds, last time I checked) and I'm sure I've already stopped growing height-wise. I actually need to gain a few pounds, if anything, but it can't be helped. As of right now I am incapable of gaining weight unless I completely gorge myself for a month non-stop. So yeah.
