Do you drink after your husband?

This was actually inspired by another person's discussion on this same category. They were talking about something different though, but check their discussion out as well. In any case, I was wondering if anyone else drank after their husband, bf, gf, fiance, wife, friend, family member?
I drink after my husband, it never bothered me. I know that some people won't drink after others but I always have, I guess it started when I was little. I had been weary if it was someone I didn't like, and maybe didn't exactly trust...

Nope. The only person I drink after is my Mom. We'll get a chocolate milk (one of those little bottles) and share it while we're out running errands. Hubby has a big water jug he drinks out of and I have water bottles. He also drinks out of the cup in the bathroom and I use my cupped hand...just a habit from childhood.

I used to drink after my Nephew but after getting the flu several times from him that put a stop to that. Now my Mom is the only one and I always make sure she isn't sick or anything first.

That's understandable! Habits are hard to break. I actually think I went through a phase where I would only drink after my grandmother!

When I was young, I never liked sharing my cup or bottle with anyone. Even with my own family. But as I grew older and had a family of my own, I started not to mind sharing a glass or two.
But my kids don't want to share. I don't know if it's just 'mine-mine' thing, or it's something they learned in school.

Hmm, it's probably just a mine mine thing but with all the flu that's going around, it could be something they've learned in school as well.

I am assuming you mean out of the same bottle, can, or glass as someone else after they have drunk from it. I have no problem drinking after my husband, after all I do kiss him so I already have his germs
. I have also shared drinks with my kids. As for anyone else, I have when they want me to taste something, but I will usually get my own straw or wipe the straw before and after I use it. I went to Las Vegas with a group of other women there were about 7 of us and we all went to a bar and had a cocktail, we each got something different and we all tried each others drinks. That was kind of weird, but this is not something I want to make a havbit of.

I can understand that. I wouldn't drink after strangers, but friends and family are fine. I've even drank after someone that I wasn't really that well acquainted with only because my friend's trusted them.

Hi, SomeCowgirl. As much as I love and adore my husband, I hardly drink behind him. There have been certain instances, where I will drink behind him when I am really thirsty and I don't have anything to drink. This may be like every blue moon or so. Other than that, I rarely drink behind him.

Not everyone likes to drink after their husband's, friends or family, and I can understand that. Hubby and I always have our own cup unless it's like chocolate milk, milk, or sometimes a frosty from Wendy's... Then we'll share. We even eat after each other, but I guess it's just natural to us. I was raised to just eat off the same fork as another if they offer me something, or to drink out of the same cup...

Hey Cowgirl! I prefer to have my own glass or bottle! I am kind
of funny like that! But, I don't have a problem sharing something
with my boyfriend. I think that he also has a thing about sharing
too! We never actually drank from the same glass or bottle that
I can think of! We do use the same bottle of mouthwash though!
I just swig it and he uses the cap!lol But, when it comes to
anything else we each have our own! It is kind of silly because
when you think about it we do kiss! Duh!
But, I
wouldn't take a sip from anyone else's drink! And when I did
smoke I wouldn't share a cigg with anyone either! If someone
wanted my cigg I would just give it to them!

Drink's, food and mouthwash are the things that do it for me. I don't smoke, but even if I did I wouldn't share, it'd just be too gross I would think! Of course we share a towel and loofah, have even shared a toothbrush.

If you can kiss someone you can drink behind them, eat off their fork...
I once knew someone who wouldn't drink behind a child because of "backwash" to me that's understandable, lol.

Backwash is understandable, but I've drank after my nephew before. If it tasted bad, then no, but it never tasted bad! I guess that rule goes for anything though, if it doesn't taste right then I won't drink it, no matter who it's after!

I don't drink from the same cup after anyone. When going out with my friends, we used to try each other drinks, but only if separate straw was provided. I think it is not healthy, even when doing it between family members.

I am not sure of the health risks or not. I would think it'd only cause someone to catch a cold from a person if that person has a cold. I don't know, but to each his own! I can be picky myself. I drink after my husband mostly.

It really doesn't bother me at all to drink after Mike (Hubby). Now that they're older, I will drink after my kids, and allow them to share my soda/tea/coffee. When they were little, I couldn't stand to, because there was always backwash left after they would get a drink!

I can definitely understand the backwash. I've drank after my nephew, and I'm sure he's backwashed but it never tasted bad. As long as it doesn't taste bad... but then again when hubby and I have kids my thoughts on the subject might change...

I know you will drink after me and you have always done so,and I have always drank after you,and it does not bother me because I think it is natural when you are dating, engaged,or married to someone to drink after them, and I will always drink after you,and I know there are some people who do not like drinking after people like Rickey for example,he refuses to drink after people so that might cause a problem when he gets married, but maybe by then he will get over that weird habit at least for his wife,I love you with all of my heart and soul.

Yes I know it is natural for us and hopefully it will be natural for that friend one day too as some people may be insulted that he doesn't drink after people...

You mean drinking out of same cups? I never had any problem sharing a same cup with my girl-friend. Come to think of it, we never really gave it a second thoughts about it. Sometimes we cuddle infront of tv together. We have our little snacks & drinks infront of us. We don't bother to bring 2 seperate cups unless we're drinking something different. I usually drink coffee with everything but when I'm laying around with my girl-friend watching tv before bad, I do happen to drink soda or something. We get 2 bottles but drink 1 at a time. Never bothered us.

Same here, to my knowledge we never had a second thought about drinking after each other. It comes natural. When we go to subway or something like that, we'll drink out of two different bottles but when we get home, if I finish mine first, or if he finishes his first we share...

Alice, Nope Sorry to have confused you!
Celtic,
Even when people are sick I drink after them as long as like you said it's not a fungi... but I'd hope I'd know if there was fungus among us! lol!

Well, that makes sense. If I had a significant other I would be constantly with him and so if he had any germs or anything I would catch it at some point anyway so drinking after him would not be a problem. Now if he had some Herpicital fungi I probably wouldn't. But hopefully my luck is better than that.

I actually don't mind sharing a cup with my hubby or very close friends. But with acquaintances that could seem a bit odd for me. I only drink from someone's glass if offered. If not, I'd find a glass or if that's not possible I don't let my lips touch the mouth of the bottle.
That may seem too intimate for others so I try to respect that.

Oh you've brought up a great point! Some people don't mind others drinkin from their bottle, but only if they kind of tilt it up and not let it touch their lips. I've done that for some people myself, to respect them of course. Acquaintances sharing drinks can be iffy, I do agree. In the past I would, but only if I had a friend there with me to whom I trusted and knew the person I was only acquainted with better then I knew the person.

Hi there! Do you mean following him to drink or drinking from the same bottle? May I answer both then(smiles). My hubby could drink lots of water in a day and I usually drink less. So what happens is that I also drink after he drinks because I know for sure that it's healthy to do such.Since I'm following him while he drinks then it has to be in the same bottle or cup.

I meant by drink after, as in out of the same bottle! Yes, it's never bothered me to drink after people except for the one time I explained... but hubby and I just drink after each other, it's natural!
