If you go and eat to restaurant, and can t eat all, you will ask your food for home? Ashamed to ask your food if you can not eat but you pay for it? If you are invited to the dinner or lunch and you can not eat the desert, you will accept the package it offers you the host? You will accept to take food for home? Here, if we are in family or with good friends, will give food for home, if after meal rest a lot of food. I all time make small package for home, for kids, or for who rest at home.My family know that they can t refuse; my friends too. Is normal to share food if is to much.

If I have left over food at a restaurant I will always take it home. After all I paid for it and I probably paid very good money for it to boot. If a hostess at a dinner party offers me some stuff to take home, I will usually do it. Possibly if I don't take it, it will go to waste and that is not what the hostess wants. If we have enough left over when we have people over I will always offer them some food to take home. There is only so much one family can eat.

You're right, it's not nice to say no, you can do a host pleasure, and take food from the restaurant, it is normal, they can serve other customers who do not know what they eat, it is better to get your food and home; we can have something for later, or for kids; why not? we pay for food

I will ask for a to go box if I can't finish all of my food but most of the time I can. If I can't finish it I'll eat it later, sharing some with my husband or if I don't think I'll eat any then I offer it to someone else.

If: 1. I can get home in time to refrigerate it and 2. I'm pretty sure it will get eaten I will take food home. But I'm not going to waste the container if I know that the food won't get eaten or if I have too long a drive to get it home safely.

Hey icesmile! I have no problem taking food home that is offered to me! I definitely don't mind taking home food from a restaurant since I am paying for it anyway! And, depending on if it is a very close friend we all share our food to take home! For Thanksgiving my girlfriend took food home with her because we had plenty to share! And the same with my girlfriend across the street! If she has extra she will give me some or if I have something she likes I will give it to her! But, it depends on the friends! I don't do that with all my friends! Just the friends that reciprocate! It is nice to share! "Sharing is caring", as we were taught!

Hi Icesmile, Whenever we dine out and we're not able to finish the food we ordered, I ask the waiter to wrap it so I can take it home. I don't see any reason to be shy about taking home food that you've already paid for. I do the same if I am invited to a dinner and I didn't get to eat all my food. I guess the person who hosted the dinner will appreciate it coz his money didn't go to waste.

I am very much used to bringing those leftovers at home. Not for the dogs or cats but for myself to be eaten later when hunger strikes again. I could use a little comfort by that saved food :D. Money spent on those are hard earned after all. I dont think that is something that I am ashamed of. I am not a thrift but for me every penny counts when it comes to food.

To get your package of food that you paid for or that your host offers is a kind of appreciation for host, or if you ask your food from restaurant, mean that you work for those money, in my opinion are many things we must to be ashamed, not to take our food for home.

Yes, I do.. I take home leftovers and eat them the next morning... Why would I be ashamed of taking food packages which I have already paid for? Whenever we attend a party, some hosts would let us take our food home particularly if we can't finish them anymore and it's a good thing to take home food from the party since it helps you to save a lot of money and effort(cooking).. :)

It is quite normal for us to pack what's left over of our restaurant orders, only if there's a lot of course. If a friend offers it when we're having lunch or dinner in their place then I think it would be rude not to accept, but I wouldn't think of asking. Food is for sharing :)

I learned from my mother to appreciate food, she always made packages for home if food remains at a party or a dinner with guests. Do not let anyone leave until she put something in the bag for children or who stayed home. It is better not ever turn down food, but never ask

i never feel the need of being ashamed asking the leftover food in a restaurant to be taken home. it's such a waste and a waste of money, too specially if it's a lot and the restaurant is expensive. not only that, sometimes i also order for take away for family members or friends. when hosting parties, i do encourage guests specially family and close friends to take some food home. i provide them with aluminum foils or food containers. it's better to share the food with others than allow them to be spoiled. i go to church on sundays and we do some kind of hostings for the dinner preparation. our foreign community here in my place practices encouraging members to take home excess food especially to be consumed the next day and save time instead of preparing a new one. i do accept offers to take home food because i believe it is polite all the more when the host/s insist/s.

I've never been too ashamed to take food home. I don't understand why it should be shameful to make two meals out of one, if you are too full to finish the whole meal the first time. The way I see it, I paid for that food, so I am going to take that food home with me. As for a private party, if someone offers me a take-home box, I'll take it! :)

if there are too many food left in the plate i will ask it to put it plastic so i can take it home. but if the food is no good i will not ask to. so it really depends. like if there is only few food left in the plate i will not ask it to be wrapped or put in plastic. anyways, i rarely have left overs when i do like the food. when i have left overs mostly i i hate the taste or just simply i don't like it much to even consider bringing it at home.

Why be ashamed? Be practical. You're right! You paid for that. Besides, you can still eat that delectable leftover the following day in the comfort of your home. Show me the doggie bag. Arf, arf, arf!
