See the attatched photo? Okay maybe you're in your email, but anyhow I spilled a mug of coffee on my keyboard yesterday. I cleaned it with compressed air then some rubbing alcohol. Well it seems my keyboard had way TOO much coffee. The photo is of my new keyboard I bought this morning. The old one worked to a point. I could do anything except hit the space bar. So I needed a new one. I played games and could type in wordpad etc but not myLot, FB, mySpace etc. Anyhow I am back to typing again. When was the last time you bought a new keyboard? By the way, this cost $12.82 at Wally World. As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It's been a while since I bought a new keyboard, but I mostly work on my lap top now. My little guy plays on my desk top now, and we put it in his room. There is no food or drink allowed up there so I don't have to wory about him spilling anything on it. I am sorry you could not get your old keyboard working all the way.

Isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful. I like that keyboard GrandpaBob. It is nice to be able to get the things we so desire and in need of. I thank God everyday that I am able to do this. Even the little things mean a lot to me. Just being able to afford them. I had to buy a keyboard once. That was when the grand boys wasted all the milk and cereal in the other one. It wasn't a nice looking as that one you bought. How are you coping with it? I know when I use other people keyboard I have to get use to it because it doesn't have the feel of my own.

I guess you could say that the keyboard is not a little thing to me actually. I use my puter each and every day for many hours so I am lost when it goes down or something like the keyboard or mouse messes up. I like it but it doesn't sit up at a high enough angle for me so I've got to get used to it is all. Thanks also. As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

No little feet underneath that you could pull out? You could always put a shim or two under it to get it up to a comfy height.

I was surprised yesterday when you said you could still use that other keyboard. Lucky you are not so snowed in you cannot make it to Wal Mart. I am like you and I would certainly miss my computer if I could not use it. I have a rather old laptop, in addition to my desktop. I want one of those little inexpensive netbooks that Wal Mart sells. I could then get a data service program and take it with me when I travel and such. Hope you are having a terrific time with this new keyboard, have a great Mylot day.

It typed fine until I went to social sites. I could play games and type fully in wordpad and word but not at the sites. All better now. As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Very nice keyboard. I have learnt not to eat or drink near a keyboard as in the dim and distant past when I first started working with computors (in the 80's) I spilt hot chocolate not once, but twice over my keyboard. and a little chocolate goes a very very long way. I can't remember the last time i brought a new keyboard, but in the sales I fell in love with a very very PINKkeyboard. It was only £10.00 but I had to give myself a very severe talking to , to talk me out of buying it. And recently, Avon( the make up people) came up with a glittery pink mouse !! So i just have an ordinary keyboard for my computor upstairs, which actually looks a little like your new one. my laptop is just an ordinary keyboard but I do use a laser mouse with a red light underneath, but sadly , not pink. Next time, grandpa bob, use a straw to drink your coffee, as I must agree, typing is thirsty work.

My last new keyboard came with my computer which is about 2 1/2 years old... Haven't had to purchase one separately so far (crossing fingers).

Nice looking keyboard. However, before throwing out your old one, try using rice to wick the moisture out and let it dry completely. In using your compressed air, liquid may have been blown deeper into the circuitry causing the keys not to work. Set it out of the way, pour uncooked rice over it and let it sit for a few days. If it works, you'll have a spare. Just in case....

I do not allow any liquids close to my computer, I don't do it and no one else is allowed to do it neither. I just know the first time I would do it, I would spill it. or the cats would spill it. Glad it all worked out for you, its a good thing it was just the keyboard, they don't cost much.

So the keyboard bit the dust. Too much coffee huh! I have replaced mine a couple of times but I have gotten them from the Goodwill for a buck or two. Right now, mine really needs cleaned or I need to get a new one, or should I say a new used one. My spacebar was starting to stick last night!

well, i have never spit a coffee in my keyboard before...I'm pretty lucky because, i have not changed my keyboard since 5 years and i'm using a Logitech keyboard which has mmx functions ....Logitech is known for its hardware and it works perfectly without any loss and there is no damage in any physical part of the keyboard and the letters over the keys are still dark and it is very nice to use my keyboard, even if i want to buy a new board in future, i will buy only logitech. My keyboard costs $17 when i bought 5 years before and now it has been reduced to $15.5 ..

Upon reading the subject, I was really thinking that this discussion has something to do on how dependent are you with coffee. But when I finished reading the whole thing, it really made me smile. The idea of the keyboard "had way too much coffee" warms my heart like coffee does. Happy postings too!

My problem with keyboards sometimes is when the letters get erased. Sometimes they also have the tendency to make good house for ants. LOL. There are times we eat in front of our computer and food droppings get trapped in between the keys. This would attract a lot of ants and it's not good.

I find that keyboards tend to not like coffee or pepsi. They may have some sort of an allergy to the contents. :D It was years since I had to buy a new keyboard. Miraculously the coffee and pepsi and water have not made their way to this one.............yet.

I always say that food and drinks and computers don't mix. If you are at home alone it is one thing, if the computer is shared it is another. I don't think that it is computer etiquette to eat or drink near a computer. First of all you can spill food or drinks on keyboards and it is costly to replace some parts. Thank God that keyboards are not that expensive. However other hardware parts are. Besides that one fills the keyboard with grease or hand dirt from food scraps while he or she is eating. It's not nice if someone else is going to use your keyboard.
