I live in Kerala ,and I speak Malayalam.I know Tamil around 90% though in both aspects reading and understanding, no writing skills perhaps. Now speaking of Telugu,I am no where close, the reason is i get confused with Telugu and Kannada for me they both give the same touch as it would give to people who have difficulty in differentiating between Tamil and Malayalam.Being a south Indian though,I understand some of the words spoken in Telugu as the south Indian languages do have little similarity in the pronunciation,I guess.
The movies of Telugu film industry are at times dubbed and shown in our language, thus we get a chance to compare between them and get a good look at times. Some blockbusters are meant to be surely seen and I wait for them to be translated and then be watched with proper meaning and logic.Any north Indian would definitely have a lot of difficulty in getting a hold of any south Indian language and Telugu more perhaps.

Dear Yugasini! Its true I have not being able to find tim
e for all my Mylot friends. you all have been so wonderful friends indeed, being outspoken and talented one's are you all.
The similarities in the languages are pretty much there, huh. These languages tie all the South Indian people together I must say. In small and big ways the languages help pretty much for sure.
Happy days to you too.

hello yugasini,
I don't know a single word of Telugu language, but i would like to learn it.
If it is the second largest spoken language in India next to Hindi, then,i guess many people in India were using that language.
I am curious dear,...what particular place in India does Telugu dialect is being used?

Hi yugasini, although I am from Karnataka and a neighboring state of Andhra, I am not able to speak Telugu, but I do understand the language. It is considered a lyrical language if spoken in the right manner. I too have many Telugu friends , since there are lots of them living in Karnataka and especially in Bangalore....All the best

Hi yugasini garu
You know that I can interact in Telugu and I love that language. I have fluency in it. Because I have studied in Hyderabad and stayed there for 16 years, gramatically, I can converse, understand, speak, read and write Telugu and Hindi as well. While studying in the school, I used to write small smal poems and articles for our School Magazine Section. It is nice talking to you over phone

Hi Yugasini, I am a telugu lady. :) I can follow the language - almost 90 percent. I cant read or write it, as I studied out of state, and was mostly in hostels. I can read a bit slowly. :) Not perfectly. :) That too printed letters, not handwriting. :)

I have heard of Dravidian languages, but not Telugu specifically. I see that that language family is not at all related to the Indo_European languages, so I suspect it would appear quite strange to me.
