I love Tupperware. For those of you who arent familiar with tupperware it is bowls with covers. they are supposed to keep items really fresh. I just love them. I have the bowls and covers, spice rack and all its little containers. It doesnt even have to be the real tupperware. I like all my bowls to have covers. What I hate is when I send food home with people and they dont return my bowls. I even mention it when I give it to them. I say "Dont throw out the bowl please, I want it back. My dad is the same way. So many people weren't returning his bowls that he started saving the bowls that butter or margarine comes in. Any food item that he buys that comes in a plastic container he saves them. He calls them guest tupperware. lol. Now, I do the same thing. If it doesnt get returned, It doesnt hurt me as much. Also by having bowls and matching covers it helps keep stuff organized. Am I crazy? I dont think so. I think it just makes things easier for me. Who wouldnt want that? Do you have tupperware? Are you obsessed? dl

I have tupperware, but not all of them are from the actual brand of tupperware. I don't like it when people don't return them, but that's because I don't like people to be regardless of things they lend for me. My parents thought me to be extra carefull with the belongings of other people, and if you fail to return them or if you break or otherwise damage them you should fix the damage or get a new item for the person in question. I save the bowls butter, ice-cream etc. come in aswell. I use these less frequent as I feel they are 'used up' faster.

I agree the real tupperware is expensive, I only have one item that is the real thing which I got at a tupperware party aswell. It's a rectangular shaped lunchbox. I've got it for a couple of years now and I must admit it does last long and stay well, so it's worth the price you pay over time. You are right; when you say tupperware instantly everyone knows what you are talking about .

It doesnt have to be the actual tupperware. The only reason I have real tupperware is because you get alot of it for having a tupperware party. Some of mine isnt the real thing. That stuff is expensive. I call it tupperware because thats the name of the bowls and when I say tupperware everyone knows what I am talking about. Your parents taught you well. I try not to borrow anything from anyone. In the event that I do, I always treat it as if it was the holy grail. If Im going to dinner at my parents house I try to bring my own bowls that way they wont hound me about bringing back their stuff. Tacky yes but it saves me a great big headache. lol Happy Hunting (for your tupperware)dl

That really sounds like an obsession. Anyhow, I could relate to you when you said that when you use these to send out to your friends food, they usually are not returned or when they're returned usually not with the right cover or lids you sent them out with. That's frustrating, most especially that these darn things are not cheap. I wish people would just return, right? Oh I could remember way back when I was so naive about things, I sent out food to my relatives in my pyrex bowls or bring one when I cook something to contribute in our parties. They end up lost or broken. Aaarrrggghhh!!! It's a good thing that we have those plastic microwaveable now, the ones which are transparent and flimsy. I no longer care if they are returned or not. As for my tupperwares and other expensive stuff. I just use for parties and are strictly for home use. But I guess it's too late for most of them. I should have posted that rule early on.

Laydee did I fail to mention that my other obsession is pyrex. You must have been PO'd when they didnt return that. It is really, really expensive. If they broke your pyrex they were really careless because that stuffs hard to break. Its hard to not get upset. Others may think that its nothing but when you dont have much money its something. I dont just use tupperware, I also call all plastic bowls tupperware. I dont know I got it from my dad. lol I just like to be in order that's all. I think I may be crazy. dl

Hi Antiquelady, My mom was a tupperware dealer when we were still a kid. At an early age i already had that appreciation with tupperwares. we had the same experience too of tupperwares used but not returned by friends and even realtives.

I think you are not obsessed with tupperwares at all but actually you are just a very organized person with a special love for tupperwares and the likes of it. I don't have a special love for tupperwares but I specially like them for they are pretty handy in keeping food safe for travel and organizing stuff in the house

I do not want the real Tupperware, it costs too much. I do like having containers with lids, and not all of mine do. I recently threw out all the odd sized things. I got two sizes of round containers that use one lid, two sizes of square containers that use one lid and two styles of rectangular containers that use one lid. It is so much easier to keep organized that way. I like your dad's guest tupperware.

Hey Ms Gerty! Long time no hear. Yes, tupperware costs too much. I call all bowls with lids tupperware. I forgot to mention that. However, I do have some tupperware that I got for hosting a party. I love what I have but you're right when you wont buy it. Its like $15 for a small bowl. I can go to the dollar store and buy rubbermaid for less and like it just as much. Happy MyLotting Gerty! DL

Tupperware is a good brand, but it is just so expensive here. So I don't have many Tupperware products. I love China

You are right about the expense Youless. The tupperware name makes the bowl unaffordable. I dont just have "THE" tupperware. I also call all plastic bowls and accessories tupperware. I buy mostly rubbermaid now a days. In my country we have alot of dollar stores. I buy alot of it there too. Its only a buck. Happy MyLotting and my love to CHINA my friend! dl

Oh, yes! I used to really be into Tupperware. It made well and has a good warranty. You can never have enough. They have all kinds of great little gadgets to make cooking and baking and storing easier. Anything that helps you get along better in life is a good thing. Have fun!

Finally someone who understands me! I like it because of all the gadgets. I got most of my stuff from hosting a party. I really wanted this spice rack but you have to buy the rack separate from the spices. It gets really expensive! If you have a party and people buy things they give certain amount free. That's the story of my tupperware. Lucky you! lol Thanks for the well wishes. dl

Add me to the list of obsessed people. I'm so obsessed with Tupperware (and I mean the real stuff, not the fake stuff) that I decided in June of last year to become a consultant. We moved into our house in March last year and as I was attempting to get my kitchen organized I said, "I really need some Tupperware," as I didn't already have any of my own but I grew up in a house full of it. A couple months later a friend of mine invited me to a party where I started my collection. Then, a couple weeks after that I signed up to become a consultant. I haven't really made any money yet, but that's okay because I've gotten plenty of Tupperware for a discounted price.

Hi Dloveli, I love tupperware and i have collections of it but not to the point that i am already obssessed about it. my mom, my in-laws and even my sisters have their own tupperware collections. it's quite expensive but durable, practical and trendy.
4 Mar 10
I have it but I don't think I am obsessed with it. The thing is that tupperware is so useful for everything. I store left over food in it, my daughter keeps all her beads and crafting bits in tupperware containers too. I store dried foods in it such as pasta and lentils and i even have a little plastic box in my desk draw with paperclips in it. I had never thought to keep the old margarine containers though, that's a brilliant idea. Thanks!
