Does God give Sinners Second Chances

Yes He does. Luke 23:39-43 One of the criminals who hung their hurled insults at him: Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" But the other criminal rebuked him, "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly for we are getting what our deeds diserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." The he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." This criminal who had done really bad crimes were going to be crucified beside Christ and one criminal of the two asked God for forgiveness and showed his faith, and in that moment, that one second on the cross, he was forgiven. And he created his place in paradise with Jesus. By saying today this man was going with Christ, he had been judged that day on the cross and was going to Heaven that day. He was forgiven completely and totally. God does this for us. It is our job to maintain the FAITH that this sinner had, the same conviction that Jesus was not only the Christ but that he was God.

Sometimes I tend to make sinful acts because I dont have a choice, I know it is a sin and god may be get mad at me. But it is the only way I can provide with my family. I dont know if god will forgive me for all of this.

God forgives all sin no matter how big or bad we might think it is. The Bible tells me that He over came ALL sin on the cross and if YOU but ask forgiveness, REPENT, and turn from sin, put your faith in HIM that you will be saved. I don't know you junmae or your situations but God does. God said He provides for the birds in the air and the flowers in the field, how much more will He then not look after you, you who are made from Gods image. Put your faith in Him and He will provide all that you need. I will pray for you and your family. God bless

What is this unforgivable sin I have looked throughout the bible and all sin is forgiven with the exception of talking bad about the Holy Spirit is that what you mean.

SupeFly, there is one unforgivable sin, though. And it is downright scary to do.

I believe that God is loving forgiving God. Thus he not only gives us a second chance but even a third, fourth, fifth, sixth and one hundredth chance. Though he grants us freedom to do whatever we want, he is there for us to give us grace to repent from our wrong doings. So yes I do agree with you that God gives us more than a second chance!

On some point we are really stubborn people, we keep doing our mistake over and over again. Why we keep doing what we knew is wrong. Of course basically we can't learn right from right so we try to be ignorance when we are making sins, right? Then we felt sorry for what we've done asking forgiveness, and repeat it again? It's an insult to God and he know our what's in our heart. We should be true to ourselves and specially to GOD to be able to see GOD grace in our lives. We're living in a mediocre life, a lukewarm who doesn't know which way he/she goes. We commit sins, ask for forgiveness, repent and going back again to sinful desires, that's lukewarm people. Do you think you are one of those, I can say I am. Our always excuse is "I'm not perfect, nobody is perfect" pretty annoying. We can be better person if we keep trying to and until we are living on this sinful world, temptation always come around. So we should be able to go against the flow, even the world is against you. Do you think you could do that? I guess we can't it's all pretty hard for us. But God always there so he would never leave nor forsaken you. God always given us second chances or more than for us to be changed and make a change to influence and be inspiration to others...

Yes, It is no doubt that the Almighty God Allah is not only forgiving us hundreds of times a day but also giving many and many chances to turn away from the Evils path and to discard doing sins either intentionally or unintentoinally. He has create there the Paradise and Hell. if want myself to rewarded by a paradise then I should faithfully and heartly ask for forgiveness from Almighty God Allah and promise not to do sins again. May Allah forgive us all.

Allah does not, let me say that again, Allah does not forgive all sin, I have read and heard the Koran or Quoran many times and Muhammed has said that many time throughout that there are sins for which you will not be forgiven. I was a Muslem before I converted to Christianity.

God doesn't delite in your sin, but the devil does. so when you sin you give satan a chance to inflict you really bad, and God just gonna watch from a distance and say "if only my son could come back to me", "if only my daugther could come back to me. i'm gonna accept him and show to him compassion". Truly there is always a second chance. I serve a God of a second chance always forgiving your wrongs. But will you give satan the chance into your life for just a second. think of the great damage he would do, how he got a second chance in the life of Job and crumbled him in peices, how that theif by the side of Jesus on the cross was fustrated in life. I believe no body want to live that cavalry life. so committing sin intensionally hoping God will forgive you, and yes He does forgive, will lead no good.

Yes, with genuine heartfelt repentance, saved sinners have endless chances, salvation of course coming by Grace alone, through faith alone according to Scripture. But there has to be repentance.

God is the God of second chances! just read the book of Jonah and that will tell you the whole story.

Absolutely. That's why Jesus had to die on the cross and shed his blood for our sins, because He knew human nature. Hey, I can sit right here at my desk tonight and sin, but I repent each and everyday and ask God to forgive me. If you forgive others, He will forgive you. There's one sin that He will not forgive and says don't even pray for the person who does that, because we're praying in vain. The difference in 'ok, we can sin all we want and be forgiven'. There's a secret to this if you feel that way, and it is that, if continue to sin because you know you will be forgiven, you are not saved at all. That's what you need to look at.

Good point, and also keep in mind that God can and will see into your heart to see if you asking for forgiveness was sincere.

God gives sinners many chances as long as they are repentful and are not just sinning thinking they can do whatever they want and God will forgive them. You have to confess your sins and ask God for His forgiveness. If you are sincere you will be forgiven. God wants all of His children to live with Him in Heaven. That is why Jesus came to sacrifice His only son for us to have everlasting life with Him.

I think God give second chance to everyone who live in this world, Jesus say he came to this world to save the sinners.

Yes there is a second chance for sinner, but there are two types of sinners, first is did intentionally or ignorantly, like the one you cited, even Apostle Paul, written in 1 Tim 1:13 it says, "who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief" and the second one is not. I doubt, if it is did intentionally, especially to those blasphemer of spirit.

Yes i certainly agree with that. Jesus offered his life for our sins. This is a good example on how we see life. If God can forgive and give another chance to those who have commited sin then we can as well. Im happy to see the discussion growing.God bless everyone

Thank God for Jesus Christ. If it weren't of Him, I wouldn't be saved. I think it is something that most people take for granted by continuing to live a sinning life. Just because they know that sins can be forgiven, they sin continually, ask forgiveness, and then sin again. It hurts God a lot. Repentance is not just saying "Lord, forgive me for all the sins I have done." It doesn't end there. It requires a complete change of perspective and way of life by turning AWAY from sins and trying to not do them again. I thank Him for second chances, for if not, heck, all of us would have been damned a long time ago!

God is not just giving a second chance,God always give chance not once nor twice. His always willing to forgive and giving chance to those who asked forgiveness and willing to repent for their sin. God never gets tired of forgiving us, hes just waiting to open up our hearts to accept that we are sinners and his there to forgive us. Happy myLotting!
