Notice of Disconnection of Service

While doing the same old stuff on here last night, my connection suddenly lost. I opened my broadband program and try to establish connection again. But it only connects in 5 seconds and disconnects. So I tried it again, again and again. Until I decided to just shutdown the laptop and go to bed. I thought that it could already be a disconnection notice from my broadband provider. So I checked my wife if she ever received a mail from something or any note from the mailman. But she said, NO. Gosh, I wonder when will the bill comes so I could go to the payment center and pay. Have you experienced getting a disconnection or notice of disconnection from your service provider, whether it's internet, water, electricity? Or worry that you could not pay the bill on time, because you have no bill or the statement never arrived on time? Do you have any other system of paying your bills or you only resort on the bill that comes in every month?

DirecTv, apparently I shorted my bill something like $2, and then I always pay my bill a few days after the due date because they told me I could. Except when you short your previous bill by a few dollars (they told me to deduct a charge and I did the math wrong) AND pay your current bill late, boom, no service.

i have the same before and it happened to me twice specially if i failed to pay the bill on time as according to their service they will only cut the connection after 2 months of not being paid. and so i thought they already cut the connection. i pay the bills and ask the girl in the counter if they cut the connection if we cant pay for just 1 month and she said they did not automatically cut connection without any notice. and so when i got home i called the customer service and was very angry to them coz i was talking to my bf that time when it got disconnected. and so i told them next time they need to call me first few days before they cut my connection specially that their billing statement did not arrive in time so i wouldn't know if im due already or not. and i told them that im using my connection for business so they cant just cut it without informing me coz i will pay them. and so the next time they called me first to inform me that im 2 months due already

Hi homeshoppers. That is one bad thing with service providers we have, late delivery of bills. We have lots of experiences here in the office of thing like that. The phone provider uses a courier service provider. And because they have lots of mails and bills to delivery, most of the time, they miss some and not knowing, they deliver our bills late. So the phone provider will disconnect our lines and will take some times to restore connection. Sometimes, we don't know who's to blame in late payment if bills, the mailman, the service provider or the accounting office. so what business are you into, my friend?

I have online access to all of my utilities, mortgage, insurance, credit cards and cell phones so I can check the status of my accounts even without receiving a bill. Since my husband is disabled we pay all of our bills at the beginning of the month even though some of them aren't due until later on. That way I don't have to think about them anymore.

Actually, my service provider also have an online bill checker. But since I need some information from them, that I could only get from the statement of account, I have not yet finished enrolling my account. Once it arrives, I can check everything and I guess, I will not wait for the mailman to bring the bill at our house.

hi neildc, well that is inconvenient, nobody would like to have such problem when mylotting or doing some other work, hope you get your connection right back on and smooth, i rarely encounter such problems, well actually i don't pay for my internet connection. lol i mean i am a student now and i live in a hostel and they provide us with LAN and internet connection for almost free and so it's fun and it rarely gets disconnected only when the lights go, it's fun to mylot when you don't have to pay for the internet connection. ... hope your internet connection don't give you problems, have a nice day neildc.

Hi voldrox. Actually, this is the first time that I have my own internet connection. Before, I only depend on the internet connection in the office. We still have the internet in the office but they don't open or turn on the modem and the router regularly. So if they don't want to turn them on, I have no internet also from where I am in the office. It's really good to mylot when the internet is free, you don't have to worry for the monthly bills. So far, my internet is doing good. I just have to wait for the initial bill to come so I can pay for the next month's service.

I talked with one of my friend here in the office and told her my experience last night. And she said she also have the same thing last night... Good thing my connection is back until now...

thanks for the suggestion. but actually, the problem was with the provider, with the network. nothing to worry about anymore. and even my bill, though it never came for 2 months, at least i already paid for a month and the next bill will be available for me online.

This is only my second month and the initial statement of account has not been delivered to me, so I have no account number yet. When it came, I will register my account online and that will give me instant access to my account information, including freebies.

Even as I know how much is my due, I can't go to the payment center because I need certain details regarding my account and it's only available from the statement of account. If bill comes in late and will disconnect me, I will call their office. But so far, it's up and still doing good.

I really thought it was a disconnection last night. This is actually my first second month and I still have to receive the bill yet. When I open the computer this morning, I tried to connect and good thing it works until now... What do you mean "send out automatically", you have consistent amount monthly for that service and you just go to the bank or payment center, and pay, even without the statement of account?

My mother had her phone disconnected once although she had paid the bill at the Post Office and, for some reason it was not received in time which resulted in no phone for almost two weeks while they sorted the problem out. The phone was eventually reconnected and it would have been nice for her to receive an apology but it was not to be! Was your Internet disconnected or was your Provider just down? I experienced loss of Internet a couple of times due to server problems with my Provider. I usually pay my bills online whenever I receive them. I do know when they are all due and I have it all noted down so I check every now and again to make sure I am not behind with anything.

I guess there was just some trouble with their system as when the morning comes, I get a good connection back. I also told this to one of my friend here and she said she also got the same problem that night. When the initial statement of account comes in, I will register my account online so I can have the statement on time and can pay my bill on time too.

hello neil! haha...yeah...most of the time! actually its not because i don't have money to pay...but because i am kinda lazy going to the payment centers to pay & so i am just keeping the bill with me until i forget it....haha i will just be reminded when the next bill comes! then that's the time that i will be rushing to the payment centers to avoid being disconnected... i usually have problems with the water bill coz it don't really come on time or sometimes 'naliligaw' so it don't reach us... same with the internet bill... but what i just do with the internet is that i check our statement of account in the smart web connect...that's the easiest way for us to monitor/get updated with our bills...

wow, ckyera. it's been a long time since i last say you here. busy again with something? well, actually i am just waiting for the initial statement from smart to come. i tried to register my account in the smart web connect but i lack one detail and it says that it is available in the bill. so when the bill comes, i will definitely register at once so no more waiting for the bill and i can go pay anytime. it says that statement is available from web connect, right? i thought you have problems with your water bill, because the one who delivers it makes court to you (nanliligaw)

bwahaha, i wish i work with the water company so i will be the one to deliver your bill so i can always see you. i really wish i have the statement now so i can register now. but what can i do, i just have to wait for them to deliver the bill. anyway, don't you have any problems with you internet aside from the one you mentioned? i hope smart will not give me problems, i couldn't change provider until 2 years.

Hi Neil, Good that your internet was not disconnected after all. I made a list of my utility and credit card bills, and whenever I don't receive a bill, I call the company to check how much my due for month is. I am particularly careful not to go past due date with electric (Meralco) and internet bills coz these two are very strict with payments and they automatically disconnect once the account is not paid on time.
@neildc (17239)

Hi doryvien. And I guess these two are the most important to you too. How about the water provider, aren't they too strict in collection as what the giant Meralco is?
@neildc (17239)
• Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines
9 Mar 10
they are really so strict with their accounts or subscribers. that is what a giant company do to us. here in our place, we also have at least a month to pay the bill (electricity) until the next billing date. once the second statement arrives, you have to pay the previous bill. but i heard it is going to change in the next few months as our electric company here is now under a new management.

Hi Neil, As to the water bill, you can miss 1 month bill but you have to be sure that it's paid on following month. But with the electric provider (Meralco) if you miss at least 1 day after the grace period (7days from due date I guess) you're sure to spend the next few nights without light, TV, fan/airconditioner, etc. until it's reconnected.

hello neil, You can call any hotline when you experienced such trouble with internet connection. Internet provider won't cut services without prior notice(this is my experienced) I tried to disconnect my connection temporarily since we will be having 2 months vacation in my hometown(this happens last year),but the provider failed to disconnect their service. In short,my connection is working and bills accumulated for 2 months. Then,i received a call from the provider asking me to pay my bills. I told them,how come i had internet bills,when i already asked for temporary disconnection. The caller say sorry...the moment we came home,i go to the nearest office and check my status. I can't pay that 2 months bills(that costs big amount huh)and it is not my fault. Luckily i was able to settle my problem with the provider. But,the fact is,the provider did not cut their services without calling me or giving me notice of disconnection. There could be some problem with your connection that caused you not to connect with the server,esp if you were using a usb modem instead of satellite receiver. Just check it out my dear

Hi jaiho. I guess I missed this friend in my discussions. How you doing? Still bust with the incoming concert? Did you pay for the 2 month bill or they reconsider it? When I told about this to my friend here, she said that she had also the same problem with the same provider, so there was really no problem at my side, my modem or my laptop. And when I started connecting yesterday, it was fine and is doing good until this time. I will be calling their hotline today to check my bill and what had happened that up to this moment, it had never been delivered.

But the clerk who released my unit had explained to me that if ever I will experience problems such as poor connection, just try to reconnect by removing the modem and re-insert and reconnect. And I don't believe they will deduct such amount to my bill when i have no connection for days. You think Smart will do that?

hello neil, actually,concert been moved to May due to some reason. we concentrated first with some political issues(party list). @ topic, No,i did not pay for the 2 mos bill,as the investigation result,and with the service id number given when i asked them to disconnect my connection,they found out it was their fault. Everytime you face same problem,(not connecting)you should call their hotline,if the connection failed within days,they will deduct it from the payment. I already encountered few problems with internet connection my dear,and i always relay the problem to the provider. Even slow connection,you must report it to them,in that case,they will find solution to resolve those problems. I missed mylot a lot and friends here

Up till now I have never experienced a disconnection of any service. I have always tried to pay bills on time whether is is electricity, water, telephone or internet. I pay certain bills via an automatic bank transfer such as bank mortgages. I pay telephone landine/television/internet bill at one go via a bank transfer. Internet banking has helped me to keep up to date how to pay bills. It saves me from writing a cheque, from going to the post office and buy stamps.

Yes, I have experienced such situation. I live in a remote area and usually the billings often arrived way to late. There were instances that I found out to late and I do not have any connection anymore. This usually happens with my internet connection as well as my landline plus. To solve this problem, I now pay even when the billings have not arrive. I know already the usual monthly charge so I just pay on time even before the bills arrived. I usually pay through online banking as well as my smart money for most of my bills. So there is not much hassle since I just go online and pay.

Last two months ago my Smart Bro connection at home was disconnected because I did not pay on time. I've been so busy and have totally forgotten I had to pay every 25th of the month. I even forgot the date. I did not notice it was disconnected because we were all so busy and would come home late at night and no one had the time to even use the computer. Well it was only when one of my nieces came over to use the computer that we found out it was disconnected. Well I paid it right away in the nearby Smart Center and in an hour or two it was reconnected.

My bank do not accept bills payment for smart so i have to go to SM payment center which is just about 2 kilometers.

Some bills I pay by check, online or by debit from my account. When I had to quit working because of illness and was not recieving benefits quite yet I did receive a 'pink notice' and had to pay by a certain date or have my power shut off. I was able to go to a office locally and pay the bill so I wasn't shut off.

Hi Neil, We pay our bills derect debit each month so we don't have to worry, just make sure that we have enough money in our accout so we never get cut off, its easier that way for us. Hugs. Tamara

Hello neildc yes I was and it was so annoying and frustrating on our part. When you will be disconnected on your electricity you have to attend a seminar again before your electricity would be connected and it would be so frustrating. Instead of some other thing you have to do you must have to attend a seminar if you want your electricity to be connected again.. If you would be disconnected also with your water supply it would be same process with the electricity...huh!!!! just a waste of time... Thanks Mobhomeir here....

waste of time and also money. isn't that we have to pay additional charges to get back the connection or to restore it? wow, we are like drivers now, that when we violate something on the road and our license are confiscated, we have to attend their seminar and also pay additional charges to get back the license. really frustrating and annoying on our part, really a waste of time.
