Yes. We still have a landline phone. I guess that's because we have to have it for internet connection. But it's really helpful to have it because it's easier to contact other landline phones. If I use my cell phone to do that it would cost more.

Hi Friend Mobile phones can not replace landline phones. With Land line phone, the chances of failure in coomunication, due to signal problem is almost ruled out. As reagrds me, I have one Land line phone, one extension of office and three mobile phones at my house. One mobile i use, one my better half and one my daughter. But we can not imagine a home without land line. I am also using wired bradband connection using ADSL technology with my land line. Happy mylotting

Hi! Well, I don't use a landline phone at home, as I have my cell phone. I don't find landline phones useful anymore, as I spend so little time at home and it's better if people always contact me on my cell phone

George and I got rid of our land line service years ago. It seemed stupid to be paying two bills for land line and two mobile phones (one for me and one for him). The payments kept falling on me, and by the end of the month I had nothing left. And, this was with working too. So I talked to him and we got rid of the land line phones. We use our cell phones for everything. And, even though I have unlimited everything the usage amounts really haven't changed much. If anything the number of texts I use out weigh everything else

I already have a decently-priced wireless internet service. I've had it long before I decided to drop the land line. So I was already ahead of the game.

Well I have to get a landline because that is the only cost effective way to get a broadband internet in this really backward country. BUT i rarely use the landline unless i call someone's landline up, because I have the call package offer that can call any landlines for free. The thing is though, nowadays more people are using mobile phones than owning a proper connected landline phone, so it is kind of a backup phone for me now.

I do not have a land line at home. Actually our area is not yet reached by telephone company. Although there are those that offer phones but no land lines. Its wireless per say. But the charging is like the land line. I decided not to have one considering that its just similar to a mobile phone though the charge is quite lower. Since, I have a mobile phone already, then I just stick with such.

I still have my landline yes. I got rid of it once but that was because the service provider was billing us for calls we did not make then had the gall to tell me they could not do anything about those charges. Their explanation was that possible the lines were crossed and someone elses charges were making it onto our bill. That is if I remember their explanation correctly. I told them to take that if they could not offer their customers protection against such things then they ought not to be offering their services.

When we lived at my mother's house, we did have a landline in the house and there were also six cellular phones between all of the adults that lived in the house. That said, when my husband and I moved into our house about a year and a half ago, we decided that we really didn't have a need for a landline. Thus, we use my phone number as our home phone even though it is a cellular phone and his is only used for calling me and a select few other friends.

i still use our land line phone since its cheaper to do domestic calls by using them and not my cellphone. and i'm using DSL for my internet connection so i really need the land line phone for it to work.

we still have landline at home, since as you said it is still very helpful. even if mobile phones are convenient, since they can be taken anywhere, landline phones don't tend to get low battery and you can come in contact with anyone who is in the home. our landline was also used as a sort of connection for our internet too.

We don't have a landline phone. I think it is more convenient to have cellphones as you can contact the person wherever he is. Having a landline would just be another unnecessary cost for my family.

We do not own a landline at home; everyone has their own cell phone. I think it's easier; rather than calling and asking if a certain person is available, one has the ability to call that person directly; it serves the same purpose as schools and businesses using extensions to route a caller to a certain individual or department. It just seems easier to me.

When my husband and I bought our house about nine months ago, we had hookups for a land line phone, and we also had the phone itself, but we figured we're never home anyway and pay enough for our cell phones that we don't need a land line, and thus, another higher bill for something we will never use. We could get phone plan through our current cable and Internet provider, but they wanted to charge us an extra $20 per month to have a land line that we would never use. We though it would be a waste of money, and I know that's still the case. I'm glad we didn't get a land line because then we'd have to add things like caller ID, call waiting, voicemail, etc. and there is no use. People would call us at home and never get us because we would only be accessible by cell phone. I think cell phones are the way to go because people can call or text or in most cases now, email people on their cell phones. Cell phones have Internet connections and all those other things now, so why not? (LOL) I think most land line telephone companies are giving people great deals (such as unlimited long distance calls) more now than ever before because I think they're realizing it's starting to be a thing of the past with everyone having a cell phone nowadays. Thanks for asking!

yes we have both cell phones and landlines. Landlines to communicate with those who have landlines, it doesn't charge every minute unlike cellphones... but since our family is getting older.. LOL, my sisters and brothers are leaving for work, so cellphones play an important part in our communication too...

I don't have a traditional landline per say.. I have VOIP via my vable company, so if my power goes out, my phone does too. You "could" buy a battery backup for the modem but it can get pretty costly so I haven't yet. I figure I'll have my cell if the power ever does go out and I need to make a phone call. Although I still miss having a type of landline because cell batteries and service are unpredictable at times..

yes we still do have a telephone line. This is a very useful one since lots of applications requires telephone line for you to be approve. Companies often ask for telephone lines more than a handy phone.

I have 3 mobiles and 2 landlines. Landlines are there only for family reasons.. Its there because it needs to be there.. Earlier landlines used to offer lower rates when everybody purchased them but nowadays mobile call rates are much cheaper. So landline has become a mere home accessory.
